  1. I use primary on both my services, and have no issues. I'll often "try" the backup when I have an issue with some "corrupted" stream, but always turns out to be an issue on the server end, which is fixed shortly after. I typically avoid backup, because I find the channel changes are just a little slower.
  2. After you create the MAC server entry and you are in the main SERVER screen, when you select an entry, you will have 2 choices (clearly written on the bottom of screen). Red button is to edit the details of the MAC. Blue button to change MAC. Some servers use the DEVICE ID fields to marry/lock your sub to your receiver. So if you change your device ID, you may need to ask your reseller to do a MAC reset on your account, to force it to clear the fields and re-marry to the next connection. If your server does not use them, then it should have no side effect. They are just another way for the server to identify your receiver.
  3. 892 is probably beta and/or targeted for now. It only fixes a bug with EPG not loading on some MAC servers. If you are NOT affected by this bug, there is no point in getting it (hence it is not sent to all for now). There is no advantage.
  4. I just did a few tests on my U5, and don't seem to have any of the issues you mention. I checked a random USB stick and my onboard SATA SSD and they are all seen. I check with the appinstaller app, and as a destination for PVR, and no issue. I did not try with a TF card however, but I don't think it would be any different. "android" in the image below, is my internal SSD. Set PVR to record to SSD and have no issue either. Just made 2 short recording, and they both record as expected and both playback as expected also. I'm assuming you have not changed anything on your box ? ie: it is still using the correct 12V power supply (since most other buzz boxes use 5V) ? Didn't accidently swap it with another ? Oops.. Forgot to mention.. Running V20230815 with BuzzTV version 5.0.891
  5. He did mention in his first post that " only output a stereo stream on the HDMI out"
  6. backup player has always been slower than Primary player for channel changes. BTW: Since you are using XC API, with Primary player, had you tried switching stream type from TS or Automatic to manually selecting M3U8/HLS ?
  7. You already posted in the AUG 24th firmware thread. Why posting a copy&paste of the same thing in an older thread ? This post is irrelevant to THIS thread.
  8. I just tried it on one of my X5, and from my phone it sees the device, and connects. However the only thing that works is the "mouse" function to move mouse around, but no way to register a "click", so not very usefull And the "home" button works if I am in any other menu. Everything else did not work (dpad, etc..). So not really functional. Have not tried it on any other box. I download the APK for phone and TV directly from the CETUS web site and side loaded them.
  9. Appreciate you sharing this, but it is WAY off topic. That should have been in a thread of it's own (assuming we allow beta discussions here). This has nothing to do with player selection
  10. For these block power adapters, these testers won't help much. At least the North American version, don't use a ground on these adapters (so open ground or not, does not matter). And do not even have polarized connectors, so they do not even care if hot and neutral are reversed (so you can plug them in any direction). Under normal circumstances, I agree this a a basic test to ensure things are wired properly. You'd be surprised how many DIY renos are done completely wrong
  11. I know it is a long shot, but do you have a UPS (typically used for computers) ? A while back I had various things that started getting flaky. And it turned out it was a bad neutral coming into my home from my hydro company. Combined with the regular brownouts from our hydro company, it was causing havoc on many of my electronics. Plug the unit into a UPS, and that way the UPS is used both as a power conditioner. Brownouts are often hard to detect, unless you have a scope. So using a UPS just ensure power is clean.
  12. PM your MAC and the details above to allaboutbuzz. That does not look like some public release. I assume you were updated to fix some issue you had, that was already addressed in a beta version.
  13. There may very well be 10+ audio tracks. But the fact that they have the same name is an issue. Example, when you multiplex an mkv file and include multiple audio or subtitle tracks, you always ensure that each entry has a different name. First to be able to properly identify what it is (if they all have same name, how do you know how each one differs from the other). An secondly, if they have the same ID/name, then some apps will only show 1 of the multiple ones that have the same name. I do this often to include multiple subtracks and audio tracks for movies I provide to family and friends, and in the past (when I got lazy and just called everything "audio track", I did get a few people which could not choose or see the various options, depending on the hardware they were using. Try creating and M3U file with multiple entries with the same channel name. Some players will parse them and show you 3 separate entities, others will show you only 1 entry, and other will show you multiple, but will only associate with the first stream for both entries. So behaviour is not deterministic. So a service which encodes multiple tracks but does not give them unique names is going to have some customers with compatibility issues.
  14. OK.. First HUGE problem is that the first 10 Audio tracks are all named the same. This is far from being normal. The primary player may have a limit on the number of audio tracks, but having 10 tracks with the same name can do very strange things. The settings we are talking about are NOT in the buzztv TV app. They were under the settings icon from the home page. Under device preferences. The "Picture" options I am talking about are no longer available. They were there in previous firmware, because they were forgotten to be hidden. Those were supposed to be developer option. Many people chose to play with them at their own risk.
  15. Had you played with any of the previous "picture settings" options ? How about under Resolution, did you change any of the colorspace or HDR settings ? Did you enable the Auto Frame rate feature ? If so, maybe try to disable it as a test (it's under the BuzzTV Utilities).
  16. OK, you are 100% correct. BuzzTV 5 software was tested, not the firmware (at least not by me). And yes, my update was only firmware yesterday, since my software version was already greater than what was released (at least on the X5 that I use for beta testing).
  17. What firmware do you presently have ?
  18. I strongly suspect h/w issues on your box. Like was mentioned, this load was in beta testing for quite some time. Tested on at least 3 services by myself and many other services from many of the other testers. Did not have any video issues. If anything, it was a lot quicker and more stable that the previous primary player. Obviously can't test with ALL streams and services ,so there will always be an exception to everything.
  19. BT200 you just press and hold the bottom right most button (Blue) for about 4 seconds and it should turn on the backlight. Same procedure to turn it off. Super intuitive, you can even to it in the dark, since it is the bottom right-most key
  20. Have you checked that there is no typo ? Have you checked to make sure your account has not expired ?
  21. I did have the exact same problem a while back on one of my 2 4900 units. But I played with the WiFi toggle a few times back then, and it went away and never had an issue again. It was strange. I have 2 units, and both were at exact same firmware/software levels and even tried swapping remotes, add remotes with USB dongle, etc.. and there was no definitive one item that I know that fixed it, but I assumed it was the WiFi toggling, since often the same chip that handles the WiFi, handles the BT. Still didn't explain why IR would not respond either, but it just fixed itself and have not had an issue since. The secon unit, never exhibited this behaviour. When you say you did a hard reset, you mean you did a pin reset, through the hold pin in , power up, scroll down menu and wipe factory reset, right ? Do you have any HDD or usb drive installed ? If so try removing them.
  22. Pin reset will erase everything. Including favorites. Just curious, I have to ask, since many have made the mistake. You are actually using the power supply that came with your U5, and not a power supply from a previous Buzz box ? Reason I ask, is because the U5 uses a 12V power supply, which most others (except the xrs4900) all use a 5V power supply. The U5 will power up, and seem to work with the 5V power supply, but can be unstable. You need to use the 12V one that came with the U5. You can contact buzz about it. But if it will end up to send it back for a replacement or whatever they decide, you may as well do the pin reset. Yes you will lose your favorites (but you would also if they swap the box). So you have nothing more to lose, except potentially fixing the issue and avoiding to sent it back. With the next OTA update they will probably be including a "backup" option (to be able to backup favorites and other stuff), but I have no idea and can't make ay promises on when the next update will be going out. All i know, is that it has ben included a while back in the beta version.
  23. Are you using a traditional mechanical internal hard drive, SSD, or none ?
  24. Are you using WiFi or are you wired ? If you are wired, try turning on the WiFi (don't need to connect), just make sure it is enabled. If it is enabled, trying toggling it on/off. When I had a similar issue with my 4900 ages ago, it was because I was hardwired, and I had manually disabled the WiFi. Re-enabled WiFi (even though still hardwired), and the issues went away.
  25. NOTHING has changed on the 4900. No updates of firmware or buzztv software. So either your providers have suddenly changed something (which is strange if more than one at the same time, unless they are all fleecing the same source with no re-encoding. Or Maybe your provider is doing some restrictions (like locking to specific "agents" only) and therefore it will refuse to play on some players. I don't know if you mentioned what type of login you are using (MAC, XC, M3U) but when you are in live TV, press menu-->settings-->configuration and scroll all the way to the bottom. Do you have an option for stream type ? If so, try toggling from TS to M3U/HLS and see if that makes a difference.
