AS long as you have it working again. If it happens again, another thing you can try is to go into the Settings again, but instead of selecting "sound" select "audio" on the first line. And if I recall near the bottom there is an option with something to the effect of "digital formats" or something like that (not in front of my box right now). And when you select it, you have 3 or 4 formats, and one of them is PCM. Choosing that can help in some cases. But for now, it works, so don't mess with it These boxes are quite old and still running Android 7, so there will surely be newer apps over time which may not behave well.

This is definitely the wrong place to post Nothing to do with BuzzTV 5 (which is the buzz IPTV software which is installed on the box). Since this is an an E2 Plus Essentials as you mentioned you should have put it under that section. But, at least you did not Hijack or revive some 5 yr old thread So we'll give you a pass for now... Do you have any fancy setup with surround receivers, etc.. ? If not, from the main launcher screen, go to the top and select Settings (Gear icon). Then on the second row (device preferences), scroll right to the "Sound" option and select it. In there you you have 3 option. By default it is probably set to "Auto", first option. Try changing that to the second option (none: never use surround sound). Quite possible youtube is encoding a sound format that is not natively decoded on the box and it is trying to passthrough to a receiver to decode, but you can't control volume on the box for passthrough. PS: Don't recall if the option is set immediately, or if you have to power cycle the ox after setting it. But give it a show and let us know.

Lol.. Chances are very slim that this would work... I've tried a few of these creative versions and without any active conversions, good luck. But something like this one seems to be the correct order of rings.. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07C13SWML Or one of these HDMI to composite https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09KZBWRL4

The pinouts are listed above. I mentioned them in my post above, and YOU even mention them in your last post in this thread in July 2023.. Honestly, even if they have the wrong pinout, just adjust which cable goes to which color. As long as the ground is at the base (only one that is important), the rest can be swapped. The biggest issue I found (since I had a few of these cables) is not even the pinout, since you can just buzz them out and adjust which cable goes to which color. It is actually the clearance at the base. I had some of these cables which for some reason the jack was longer (more exposed at the base), so it would go into the hole ever so slightly too deep. So to get it to work, I had to play with it, and pull it out by a fraction of a millimeter. I eventually got one that was perfect depth, so I didn't need play with it. And BTW: B01LAIUWJY does still exist.. Just ridiculously overpriced by some greedy 3rd party. https://www.amazon.ca/Wpeng-3-5mm-Female-Adapter-Connectors/dp/B01LAIUWJY

Have you checked to make sure it is not an issue on the server end ?

Are you sure it is not your TV that does not like something ? I used to have an LG TV and in order to give me real dark blacks, when I watched movies that were a little on the dark side (like UnderWorld), it would drop the intensity to give me deeper blacks (but it was WAY too black for me). Was really annoying. Even when watching credits it was even more noticeable if black background. When you had plenty of white writing on screen it would me "normal", but once you got near the end where it is one name at a time scrolling slowly, it wold get so dark, I could not see anything. Dumb thing, only way to turn that dumb feature off, was to put the TV into "store demo" mode, where it just cranks up the brightness and turned off the auto deep black feature.. Same device, on my Sharp Aquos, did not have that issue at all. Also, be more specific. When you say you are watching movies, can you clarify if it is using BuzzTV 6 VOD/TV Series app, or are you using some 3rd party app like Kodi ? And if you are using BuzzTV 6, have you tried changing the player for VOD/TV Series to External and using something like VLC ?

That is all subjective. And this is a BUZZTV support forum, so the question is not appropriate. You can take your question to a different forum for opinions. Everyone likes what they get used to. No app is 100% perfect, they all have their pros and cons. Feel free to install them on your buzz box and try them out and see what you prefer. Nothing stops you from installing any 3rd party app on your buzz box.

Can you please post what version of BuzzTV software and Firmware you are running the box (and please don't say the latest)

Powerstation 2026 ? Do you know something we don't of a future upcoming releases ? The Powerstation is already out. Comes in 3 versions for now (more than most expected).. The original in both 8GB and 16GB versions. And the Unlimited which comes in 32GB version. BuzzTV PowerStation 6 - 8GB RAM – BuzzTV Direct BuzzTV PowerStation 6 - 16GB RAM – BuzzTV Direct BuzzTV PowerStation 6 UnLimited – BuzzTV Direct At this point I don't see what the advantage would be of having Thunderbolt anything on such a device If Buzz is planning a new box, they will certainly announce some details when they judge it is ready to be announced to the general public.

Unfortunately here we don't discuss specific servers. This is a buzz hardware forum and mentioning different services is NOT permitted. You'd have to find another forum to discuss different services.

No “My Channels” and EPG not loading after update
Emporium replied to MrEazmo's topic in PowerStation
Did you try creating another server entry with same m3u link to see if it helps ? No typo (extra space or something in the URL - sometimes android keyboards adds space automatically after a "."). Was it working fine before the update on the P6 ? If you use the BuzzTV 5 app which is also on the P6, does it behave the same way, or does it work ? PS: Note that the EPG/Guide button on the remote, is mapped, and will always bring up the BuzzTV 6 EPG, so if you are in BuzzTV 5, please use the Menu button, and select EPG from the menu to check. -
No “My Channels” and EPG not loading after update
Emporium replied to MrEazmo's topic in PowerStation
You say your U5 does not have this issue. But truth is, the U5 could also have stuff in the cache. To ensure it is not server, try going into menu and select "Refresh". Then got into Menu->setting->configuration and select "Clear EPG". Then see if it repopulates with any info. When you say EPG has the channel name, is it for ALL your channels listed or still just favorites ? And you sure server does not support XC ? Have you tried, or just taking resellers word for it ? When you have something like this (may vary slightly on options) http://myserver.xyz:2080/get.php?username=MyUserName&password=MyPassWord&type=m3u&output=ts Try creating an XC server with whatever name you want. Server: http://myserver.xyz:2080 User: MyUserName Passwword: MyPassWord This is just an example above, obviously use your server entries/credentials. -

Emporium replied to MrEazmo's topic in PowerStation
Please clarify.. You state: So if you press "OK" for a channel list, do you have ANYTHING ? Any categories, channels, etc.. ? And you say ["still" had favourites], I don't get the point ? You still see favourites ? So does EPG have the channels listed and no EPG info ? Or is the EPG completely blank, ie: not even channels listed on the left. Just as a test, did you try creating a "new server" name it whatever you want, and use the exact same info M3U/EPG xml URLs ? Does the server support XC ? -
You can use aptoid like nbs has mentioned above... However you can also easily download the APK from their web page, put it on USB stick and install it using app installer, or one of the file manager/explorers. https://surfshark.com/download/android Just click on the "download apk" button The reason it probably says it is not compatible is because unlike other boxes that use regular android os, the 5 series of buzz boxes uses a native AndroidTV OS, which is different. So if the author of the App has not tagged or built the app with the proper properties to identify that is it androidTV compatible, it will not show up in play store for the device. Does not mean however that it won't work. I typically keep all the usual apps that I install, as apk on a usb stick and I just install them one after the other, without ever using my google account on the box.

How old is that info ? I did not bother to check YT. The P6 has been getting all sorts of fixes, since it was introduced last year. Sure when it was first introduced, like any modern device it had a few bugs. But if you take some time, you can read the release notes of the various updates and you will see there were many audio bugs fixed, including for Bitstream audio, passthrough codecs etc... Even updated HW Codec libraries not long ago to fix rare but potential glitches with some types of streams. Example of one from August 2024 where amongst other things, they addressed the following: If you have a receiver, you will most probably enable passthrough and let the receiver handle the decoding. There was an issue with some passthrough, but they have been addressed over the number of updates.

**NEW** L1 Buzz 6 App Update V1.0.186 - July 3rd, 2025
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in Linux Player
When he says "manual" update, it is from the Settings screen (from home screen), where it has the option to check for updates don the list. Not using a file physically to update manually. -
**NEW** L1 Buzz 6 App Update V1.0.186 - July 3rd, 2025
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in Linux Player
There is no manual update. I typically leave the box on for a few hours (sometimes overnight) at the main screen.. And after that, I do an actual reboot of the box, and it typically finds it within 2 or 3 minutes after the reboot. -
Do you have Max volume enabled ? Disable max volume and you can then control the variable volume of the box with the remote. I typically keep the TV volume at about 60% or 70%, and then use the variable volume on the box. Also, the BT250 has 4 button (on the top surrounded by blue line), which are IR learning buttons. So you can even have the remote memorize some of the buttons from your TV (but keep in mind that is IR only, not bluetooth obviously). So those 4 buttons can mimic any 4 buttons of your TV. most people will use them for power, input select, and TV volume +/-, but you can really use them for anything you want. Since in my case, I don't use any other input, I had mapped the "input" button to be the "sleep" button from my TV remote. If you want to program the 4 buttons, you can check out the instructions in the manual: https://buzztv.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/BT-250_Manual_V1.1.pdf

Are you 100% sure that there are no accidental spaces in the m3u link when you type it in ? Sometimes the Android keyboard can have a tendency of adding a space after every "." which if you are not looking at the entry field it is easy to miss. Have you tried using the BuzzTV 5 app to see if it works ? The BuzzTV 5 app was added there to give users a choice using the previous version of BuzzTV, since when the P6 came out originally, BuzzTV 6 was still missing a few features. You have nothing to lose by trying it with BuzzTV 5, just to see if it works. I have not used IPTV Editor, but I do have a bunch of my own M3U lists, which I host on my pastebin account and I have no issues with any of those. And XC definitely works, since my main server uses XC and I have zero issues with it.

Like NBS mentioned, turn max volume off, and that will allow you to control the volume using the Buzz remote. If you already have it off, continue reading below. What is your setup ? just basic sound from TV speakers, or a basic soundbar.. OR full blown surround sound, etc.. ? If you are only using stereo you can try the following it should disable the auto detection of some 5.1 streams which can cause controls to be a little unpredictable. If your setup does not support 5.1 audio, try disabling the auto detection.. From Home screen, Settings (Gear icon)->Device preferences->Display and Sound->Advance sound settings->Select formats (and select "none: never use surround sound").

The T2 may be allocating a slightly larger cache on it's internal player, which will just mask network glitches and be a little more immune to freezing because of that. But still doesn't change the underlying issue. The fact that the T2 freezes also, tells me there is either some issue with your internet, or something with the servers.

Have you tried rebooting your modem and router ? OK, I know it sounds like a long shot, but it has happened to me on at least 3 different occasions, so I will put it out there. Do you have any Dlink switches (or router) on your network. If so, do you have alternatives to replace them ? In at least 3 cases I had, myself and at 2 buddies places, simply the existence of a DLINK switch on our network cause all sorts of strange behaviors which I could not explain. Even if it had nothing else connected to it, when they start to fail, they seem to create chaos on a network even on devices not directly connected to these switches. Swapped out all dlink equipment (with netgear or even tplink) and all the problems went away. In one of my buddies cases, it was a brand new dlink router he had purchased (we swapped it with an old asus one and issues solved). Don't know what the dlink equipment was doing or what would trigger it, but I have since promised myself that no more dlink junk in any of my installations. In my case, the dlink switch was on my test bench (where I often build/test machines), with no machines connected to it, just the main network line coming from the main switch. Since it had no devices connected to it, I completely discounted it initially, and took me quite a while to diagnose the issue. Actually took a few days - until I decided to go down to basics and disconnect all devices and run single line only direct from buzz box to router - and then work my way back up.

Like nbs said. If the catchup server from the provider goes down, then it does NOT record the streams, so you will get an error when you try to access them. In my years of experience, catch-up is a hit & miss on most servers. There will be times where it is rock solid and always works. And there are other periods of time, where it will be an exercise of patience and frustration. I am lucky enough that the main service I use is pretty quick in updating their TV Series section with episodes typically withing an hour or two after it airs. So often I will not use Catchup, but rather go to the TV Series section, find the show I want and most often, the episode is already online. Also the fact that I am on the east coast (North America), I often catch shows I miss, by using the network local channels from the central and west coast feeds (this is where having a full program guide even for local stations [like 50+ CBS, ABC, NBC channels, etc..] is critical). Obviously this option does not work well for "live" events, typically sports. It can happen with the best of servers out there. At the price many of these services cost, I tell people that they should probably get more than one decent service if they can't deal with occasional glitches and downtime. This will ensure that if one service is down, hopefully the other service is up. There is no Service Level Agreement, like you would get with a cable company. Also, keep in mind that Buzz does not provide support for any specific service. They provide the boxes and software and do NOT sell or recommend any services themselves. Buzz TV themselves will never sell you any box with a service preinstalled. So this type of issue, should be addressed with your service provider typically.

What type of Subscription do you have ? XC based (URL, username/password) ? Or does your provider just provide the boxes preconfigured without giving you details ? I'd say, that if you are using an XC based subscription, you can try loading up other 3rd party software (like "smarters") and see if it does the exact same thing. If it does, then the problem would be on the server side, not the box itself. That is how I usually confirm if the catchup server on my service is down or not.
