    VPN

I have been told by the support staff of one of the servers I have that I am having freezing and lack of programs playing because my ISP (Bell) is blocking my feed. They have recommended a VPN to deal with the issue. I have read that VPN's have a tendency to slow down internet speed and can cause latency issues. Any thoughts would be welcome.
  2. there are times that I have freezing which makes the programs unwatchable.
  3. I have been using primary for live TV since I received my X5. It was the way the unit was setup at the factory I understand from reading in the forum that backup is the recommended setting. for live TV. and primary for Recording and Time shift. I have not recorded any programs nor do I use time shift. However every time I try to switch to backup rather than primary for live TV the picture shrinks down to about 1/8 of screen size and is situated in the top left hand corner of the screen. Any suggestions on what to do to have the picture go to full size when I switch to backup.
  4. I was having some difficulty with frequent freezing and dropped programmes. I tried just about everything to get the signal to stabilize. It would be OK for awhile then start acting up again. My setup is an X5 hard wired to a wireless Pod. I am running a Fibe 500 connection with 500 mbps download and 500 mbps upload capability. The speed at the POD varies between 200 and 250 mbps most of the time. I decided to try connecting with wifi instead of a wired connection. Lo and behold it seems to have improved my connection tremendously. I get the odd freeze once and awhile however the connection is much more stable. Anyone have any idea why this would happen. I was always told that a wired connection is much more effective than a wireless connection.

How do I add a VPN to my Buzz X5 128AX
  6. Followed what Tlr had done with his U5. Found the HDMI CEC settings on the X5. Turned them both off. That worked. Thanks again to all of you folks.
  7. I have an X5. I have it hooked into my home theatre setup. I have the BT-400 remote set up so that It will control the Buzz box only. and not the Buzz and TV. I found that the BT-400 was a bit wonky when I had it set up to control the buzz and my tv at the same time. I factory reset the remote and reset it up to only control the Buzz. I use a Harmony remote to control all of the peripherals in my home theatre . Every time that I turn the buzz box off or change to use my DVD or Roku the Buzz box turns itself back on. Any suggestions on how to stop it doing this.
  8. Did suspend and powweer key change on X5. Works great. Will try the 4500 next. Thanks folks.
  9. How do you factory reset the BT-400 remote?
  10. I just purchased and set up a new X5. I have 2 servers loaded. I use the MAC address format. One of the servers loaded and worked with absolutely no problem at all. However the second server "Crystal" will not connect. The message that I get is Cannot Load Portal: Cannot connect to server due to a connection error. I used to get this message with my XRS4500 with the same server every time there was an update for the Buzz. I had to contact the server people to refresh the line or whatever they did. even with that it would not work sometimes. I have spent the afternoon dealing with the server support staff. Nothing they have tried has solved the issue. Any suggestions other than find another server.
  11. Thank you all. I will do what has been recommended here
