Sorry to hear that you have decided to leave the BuzzTV h/w and app. Any specific reason, why ? What box / BuzzTV version do you have ? Have you tried any of the new 5 series boxes ? Something like "The Classic", which I always recommend to friends as best bang for the buck. There is no app in my opinion that even comes close (personal opinion). There are many other apps, but they are either primarily designed for touch devices, have crappy UIs, have way outdated UIs, they are super basic with close to no features, only support XC or MAC, but not both, etc... There is really only one 3rd party app as far as I am concerned that even remotely is considered useable but it comes with it's own set of issues and peculiarities. You will need to do your own research on it's features, options, and cost (since it is not free). This is a BuzzTV forum, and there is no support or discussion regarding any other apps. If it ain't broke, don't fix it For app (other than Buzztv itself), I really don't care much for updates. Once in a while I'll download latest APK if enough new features are introduced (like on Plex client), or if I expect a bug fix for something that affects my usage, but otherwise, I don't often care. The latest with some apps, is not the most stable. But to each their own. Some people want the latest and greatest all the time. Personally I prioritize stability over the "latest".

Incompatible or not tested is usually because app was designed for a different android version than what is installed on box, and can be incompatible depending on the target sdk, etc... But many apps are a little more forgiving on that. However "app won't work" is more a definitive message that you have selected the wrong platform Anyhow, I typically download the APK files for all the apps I typically use, keep them on a USB stick and on my NAS. It makes reinstallation a lot easier when I need it. And that way I do not need to use my google sign in on the box (I prefer not to sign in to my boxes - personal preference).

The "this app won't work for your device" message is usually because you are trying to download a version for the incorrect platform (x86, etc..). For these boxes you need the one for the armeabi-v7a architecture. Unlike the Google play store, aptoide does NOT filter results compatible specifically for your platform only. You need to know what you need.

If someone can tell you what version of netflix app is installed and working on their 4900 you can always use a site like apkmirror and download the apk for that version (for the armeabi-v7a architecture) and install it manually. On the 4500 I think the original version was 6.26.0 or something like that. you can try searching for that on apkmirror if you want. Keep in mind you will most probably need mouse cursor to use netflix on these boxes.

This from someone who has no forum etiquette and decided to hijack someone else's thread. I have 2 X5 units (an original X5 128AI, and a newer X5 AX-C 64GB), one on beta firmware and one on public release firmware and have none of the issues you mentioned. And saying that the remote is only good for a few feet, if not on Bluetooth is crazy. Buzz has some of the best IR useable distances. Sometimes when I use the wrong remote (one not paired), I don't even realize it, because the IR is so powerful that no matter how far I am and pointing or not pointing towards the box, it just works. Unless you have the box locked behind some cabinet, or behind the TV, or if your room is 30ft+ long, it is one of the best IR around. I've tried many crappy Chinese knockoff boxes and most of those remotes don't even work facing the box at 6ft away. Did you ever contact Buzz directly by email ? Maybe you just happened to get a defect. It can happen in mass production. I had a similar issue on my old xrs4900 ages ago, but it turned out that I had manually disabled the WiFi on the box (since I am wired on all my boxes), and in turn the chipset would turn off the BT without reporting anything. Turned the WiFi back on manually, and never had an issue again. -
First of all, next time I would strongly recommend starting a new thread if it is for a different problem. For the benefit of other users who search for solutions to their problems, it always helps if a thread stays on topic, and doesn't change directions 20 times Having said that, I agree with Ryu. From the quick glimpse at the video, this looks like an HDMI cable issue. If you have another cable, I'd suggest trying to swap it. And if that doesn't help, maybe try using a different HDMI input on your TV.

Actually, this feature is presently in beta (and the feature is quite flexible). It works quite well, and will soon be rolled out to all boxes. I don't know the exact time frame, but there are many new features in the pipeline.

While in LiveTV, if you press the menu button (top left of the DPAD on the remote), you will see a menu show up on the left. From there, you should have an option saying "PVR Options".

Don't do VPN Unlimited for $90/year (that's overpriced). I have VPN Unlimited and only because I had gotten a lifetime sub (not yearly) for $29 through stacksocial. It works fine for my needs, but it is not worth $90/year. Actually Stacksocial presently has it for $90/lifetime I don't believe lifetime subs are sustainable, but at the price I had figured if I got a year, I was fine (and has been way longer than that). ipvanish (as DU mentioned above), surfshark and even Windscribe offer regular sales (or promo codes if you search google), which are more attractive. Stacksocial also has surfshark for USD$84 for 3yrs of service, which is a nice price also, or windscribe VPN Pro for USD$90/3yrs.

Is your sub a MAC based sub, or XC API login (with portal, user/pass) ? If it is an XC API, you can always try to download the PC version of IPTV Smarters, install it on your laptop and see if the problem persists on the laptop. Just another option for testing.

If your provider does not reply to your messages, for me that would be a quick indication that it is time to find another provider. Maybe URL changed, Maybe they are having server issues, maybe the account just needs a quick reset on the server side. Hard to tell. This is why I keep going back to my same 2 or 3 providers for the last 4 or 5 years. They are not perfect (none are). But when something critical happens (especially not being able to log in), I typically get a reply within hours (if not minutes). I've even had one issue me a temporary account when all the usual attempts did not work, until they figured out what was causing the glitch. Support is key. Provider with no support is considered as good as "disposable" for me. Good as long as they work, and into the trash once issues occur. BTW: 5.0.799 is the latest public buzztv 5 version for these units.

Was it working previously with this service ? You sure you are not expired ? E2 has not gotten an update in a while. If you go to the updates screen, what software versions (firrmware and buzztv 5 version) are you running ? Have you tested it on a different box/device ? Worst case you can also try using another app on the E2, instead of BuzzTV5, just to verify it is not an account issue. If it is a MAC sub, you can try with STBEmu, if it is an XC style sub, you can try with something like IPTVSmarters. Does your password have a special character in it ? Like a "!", "\", "/", "|" or many other punctuations ? If so, if server upgrades a certain module, on back end, sometimes they can fail with strange errors. My main service was fine for years even though I had a "!" in my password. Even after they upgraded servers it was still fine, but as modules kept getting changed, various aspects started acting funny. Web player stopped accepting my login, giving an invalid credentials error. Then some VOD (depending no server they were hosted on), would show everything fine, except when you tried to play, it would always say not found or some other error. Changed password, and all the issues went away. looking quickly at the images, seems like it is a MAC type sub possibly. Did you recently use the account on another device ? Many services are enabling marrying to stuff like internal DeviceID1 or 2, and if that is the case maybe the account is married to some other box. Or possibly account got hacked. Maybe ask your provider to do a MAC reset on the server end for your account.

If it is anything like it original app, If you are not in the US, you will need to make sure that your VPN is active before you launch it.

That is the latest publicly available version. If you want and you are willing to go to "pre-release" firmware, you will need to message allaboutbuzz. Keep in mind however, that there is no rolling back if there is something you don't like, or is buggy (since it is not "final" firmware)

As DU mentioned, it is provider. I am assuming the sub you have supports/includes multiple simultaneous streams ? Is it possible that you are only supposed to have a single stream and your service just did not enforce it until recently ?

This is definitely nice. I was very excited to use it, and now myself and the wife each has their own favorites list. No need to scroll through Hallmark and Dove channels to get to "This old house"

Have you connected to the same wifi with another device to see if internet is even available on that WiFi ? When you connect to the WiFi, on the other device, do you have to go through some captive portal (like a screen that requires you to "accept" some conditions) before allowing you to access the internet (like when you acess a public wifi at Starbuck, Tim's or even Maxi..) ?

Should be able to find both in the "updates" screen. I have never tested the favorites aspect.. However.. You can access all XXX channels directly from the "All Channels" category, and there is no unlock required. And the worst part, is if you access them from the "all channels" category, they do end up in you channel history Even after surfing a few channels, if I go the adult category and try to select a channel, it does ask me to unliock. I just tested it on 5.0.799 with my main service. Don't know if it is a "tagging" issue, but it has been like this for as far as I can remember. Pretty sure I had the same behaviour with another service.

If you try all that and you still have issues, as a "test", remove any media you may have installed in the unit (SD card, Hard drive, USB stick). If there is corruption on the media, it may cause strange behaviours.
