First of all, no one ever said backups would backup any 3rd party apps. They back up BuzzTV settings. Backing up 3rd party app settings, is the responsibility of the 3rd party app developers. Everyone does things differently, and Buzz is not going to guess how and what needs to be backed up, or go down that rabbit hole. Doing a machine snapshot (like they used to do on older boxes), kind of defeats the purpose of doing a factory reset, if you are just going to restore the same junk over the box. The point of a factory reset is to try to start from clean slate, without the possibility of some 3rd party app causing the issues. Now for recording not being able to FF, that is a server stream issue. Buzz just records the unaltered stream. If that stream is encoded in strange ways there are some which cannot be FF or REW (and this will also affect TS). And that will vary from channel to channel. I've tested with a few different servers and some work perfect all the time, and others even the same channel (probably different sources) will just not behave properly on playback. Trying to FF or REW will sometimes even force the stream to play from the beginning again. But that is the source stream. Have you tried to change the stream type ? From LiveTV (menu->settings->configuration and I think it is the 7th settings from the top. Also, keep the RealTime Streaming and Tunneled playback turned off for better compatibility with some servers. Forcing the stream type to TS can sometimes yield better results for recordings.

**NEW** Buzz 5 App Update - Version 935 - June 5th, 2024
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
Agreed. But when I had downloaded from MEGA initially, I downloaded the "folder" by clicking "Download as ZIP", so mega compresses it into a zip file (and names it after the directory name) to download a single file. I had kept it like that in my archives, and then at one point I had uploaded it to my mediafire account for a few colleagues. Since I know the ZIP file is intact and the files in it I have been used a few times for updating boxes, leaving it in ZIP format ensures the integrity of the files also. Just an additional measure to ensure no corruption during download. If the file gets corrupted during download, CRC would not match and any decent zip handler would flag it. Sure, call me paranoid, but last thing anyone needs for a "flash" file is a corrupted binary @Jedab keep us posted on how it goes. -

Sorry buddy.. I just got in from the office and I realized I already had them on my mediafire account, all I did was move them to my public share directory. And being in the original ZIP file, you can easily tell if there was any corruption in the file during download, since it would flag it when unzipping it. -

Here are the files to use. Basically, unzip and need to put the 3 files onto the root of an SD Card (not in a subfolder) The SD Card must be min 2GB, no bigger than 64GB Formatted to FAT32 Originally on: https://mega.nz/folder/TIlUzZhR#vIOZKq43u3MS3Y3zoFHdkQ Reuploaded here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/iik0ho6kxbv942p/X5-Boot-Card.zip/file It will reset your box, but it will take it to 20220811 FW, which from there can get all Future OTAs Here is the How To Video for it as well https://mega.nz/file/CJtxhb7I#TcHg2uOdPghzRQmipi7sMd5A3-ZcOz8sticOYByRuB0 The only comment I would make on the video is: In the video at about the 2minute mark it shows the box with RED light, and shows it quickly switch to blue. In reality, that can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes before it turns blue and powers up. During this period DO NOT unplug it. I thought something had gone wrong with mine when I did it, but I waited. Be patient, it will eventually power up. It is a long 3 or 4 minutes when you are just staring at it, but it works well. Be patient. Do not reset the box, even if it looks lifeless -

V20220624 was unfortunately a bad firmware, since it had an accidental bug, that it would no longer take updates It unfortunately happens. There is a way to flash it manually using a microSD card (no it can't be done using a USB stick). Check out this thread: https://stbtalk.com/topic/4446-new-official-x5-firmware-buzz-5-app-update-september-22nd-2022/?do=findComment&comment=16422 And check out my comments at the time which I had made for those doing the update themselves https://stbtalk.com/topic/4446-new-official-x5-firmware-buzz-5-app-update-september-22nd-2022/?do=findComment&comment=16554 -
Time for a factory reset. Since it is new, you probably don't have much customizations. And if you have many servers, just use the backup features, it works well.
-
If the problem persist, then it is probably your providers panel that is overloaded during certain times of the day and probably timing out out during login. Maybe it's time to try another service and compare the stability. Services are quite cheap and no obligations. Either way, like I tell people, you should always have a second service as a backup, because there is no such thing as a PERFECT server. Even the best of them will occasionally have their off day.
-
When you say no go, do you get some sort of error message ? What login type you using ? MAC/XC/M3U ? I'm assuming it is not MAC since you said you have multiple connections. Did you check to see if the box is recognizing that you have multiple connections (from LiveTV menu->settings->account info - what does it say for connections) ?
-
I get full 7 days+ on my service also and pretty instantaneous. Do you have any special characters in your username/password ? Something like "!/\&*()$#@" etc.. ? IF you do, many servers can have issues with that. Have you tried with another service to see if the problem is the service or the box ? I'm suspecting the service honestly.
-
But does the recording of 30 minutes ONLY affect those recording crossing the midnight mark, or ALL recordings ? Someone recently mentioned on another thread (where it affected all of their recordings), and a hard factory reset seems to have fixed their problem. If you don't have too many 3rd party apps on the device, you can backup your servers/favorites to USB stick, and then do a factory reset, restore your servers and try again. Factory reset: https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/ Different device, same procedure however
-
I just tried both through recording from EPG, and doing it manually and have no issue at least setting it up. Are you sure that the END DATE is set correctly to the NEXT day when you do that ? Otherwise you are trying to go through a worm hole in time, to stop in the past

Guide offset not changing anything?
Emporium replied to TeknikL's topic in XR4500 / XRS4500 / XRS4500 MAX
From the updates screen, where is shows you the Firmware and Software Version. and from there on your remote, type 2015 (you won't see anything while you type however). Your device will either update to BuzzTV 5, or you will get a message that "no beta is available" or something like that. Disregard the "beta" message since BuzzTV 5 has been out of beta for ages If you get the message that is not available you have 2 choices. 1. You can try a hardware reset of the box. It has been known that many 4500 will automatically update to buzzyv 5 after a hardware reset. https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/ 2. Send your MAC info to allaboutbuzz and he can add your box to the list to get an OTA update to BuzzTV 5 BuzzTV 5 on the 4500 runs like a charm you'll wonder why you did not upgrade earlier -
Your internal storage is not over 80% full ? Have you tried a full hardware reset using the pin method ? Yes this will clear everything on the box. Below is a link to the full reset (Different box model, but procedure is the same). https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/
-
First of all you should not have revived a 2yr old thread, since it has been out of beta for AGES!!! You should have started your own thread. No issues with recordings here either. What type of sub do you have, MAC based, XC API, or M3U ? What stream type do you have set ? Menu->Settings->configuration->Stream format. Maybe try changing stream format. Sometimes after an update it can have a side effect of changing some settings.
-
Have you tried a factory reset, just in case ? Here is the link for a hardware reset. Different model, but process is identical. https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/

Guide offset not changing anything?

Agreed, but he did post in the 4500 section. So I am "assuming" he has a 4500 Aren't all the 4500 boxes capable of it ? Can probably get it using the "2015" method. -

BuzzTV 5 does an auto adjustment between your timezone and the timezone provided by the EPG server. For BuzzTV 4, it can be tricky to get it right. When you change offset, you sometimes have to select "Clear EPG" to force it to redownload it. And I found that sometimes it help to Change offset, Clear EPG, and then long press the "back" key to exit the BuzzTV 4 app. Then relaunch it. Sometimes a "clear cache" before restarting also help. However once it is fixed, it works fine. It is unfortunately a little picky. But like Ryu mentioned, on the xrs4500, why not upgrade to BuzzTV 5. It runs quite well on the 4500. It's a no brainer. -

Please stick to one thread for support. You already have your own thread started for the same issue. FYI: Email support with the info that Ryu mentioned in that thread. They'll get you sorted out. -
Does the service you got from your "provider" allow multiple connections ? If not. then if you are watching TV while it is scheduled to record, it will fail. Using MAC/XC or M3U type sub ?
-
There is NO word no plans or promises of any of the existing boxes getting BuzzTV 6. Let's get the new Android 13 boxes first, and we'll see if any of the Android 11 boxes ever get it. I'm sure when there is a decision or if there will be plans for it, it will be announced.
-
Never tried it. But I can try it sometime on the weekend (if someone does not try it before that) Worst case, instead of using a second BT400, you can use a ARQ200 which is an RF remote with a USB dongle. I know for a fact that you can use the ARQ200 with any other remote also. OR, if one of the remotes has direct line of site, you can pair one BT400 and use it with BT for the one that is not in the same room as the box, and for the other one, just use the remote unpaired in IR mode. The Buzz remotes have a pretty nice range/angle on their IR transmitters/receivers.

When you say you did a factory reset... Through the BuzzTV 5 menus, or using the PIN hardware method ? I did have one box that had issues at one point and the only thing that fixed it was a HARDWARE (pin method) reset.
