That backup player is definitely the issue. After more testing, we still were kicked out to the home screen regardless of if we had the Automatic, HLS or TS selected. On automatic with backup player, it was unwatchable and we were constantly having to reconnect after we are kicked out to the home screen.  We have decided to leave it on primary as much as possible while we switch channels, (if the stream comes up with the message, unknown stream), then we decide to flip it to the backup player and cross our fingers we don't kicked out to the home screen. Overall, this is becoming a nuisance switching between Primary to backup and playing around with the automatic, HLS and Ts options for the video to kick in.

Tunnel play back or RTS makes no difference to the tv experience.

    Thanks

looks like you need a better server. i have seen this issue on both players with many shitty servers. there's millions servers out there and buzz team can not fix every servers stream related issue.

im using backup player on one of the top notch server and has been rock solid for over 3 years. i have my boxes setup as suspend mode instead of shutdown and if I turn off my tv at night and by morning if I turn it on and it plays live tv instant without anyissue or crash.

reason im using backup player because on this top notch server some channels my parents watch work better on backup vs primary bacuse of the way there are encoded. 🙂

so better server will change your experince 🙂

Support says they don't have the newer firmware, and even if they did, they don't give out firmware for their devices. I'll try to force install the older release, have nothing to lose, the box is a doorstop right now.  I'd advise not buying the e2 or e2 Max currently being sold on Amazon.

I recently bought 5 e2's for great price and they all got updated without any issue and working rock solid 🙂

  3. channel freeze and quality is usually server related if you don't have connectivity issues.

on your end try to replace HDMI cable and try a different hdmi port on tv if possible.

  4. yesterday got some time to update my classic and it started to download firmware and during download it also started to download and install buzztv 5 update. during that time I got black screen with buzztv 5 logo which started to flicker. I did not panic and left it alone until firmware got completed. once that completed I got Home Screen and all good. so far so good. thank you 🙂

Have you tried playing with this setting, and then use your tv remote instead of the Buzz remote.

    --------------------------------------------------

On your BuzzTV PowerStation 6, the option “Force Max Volume” in the PVR/Playback settings is a system safeguard that ensures the audio output is always sent at 100% volume level from the BuzzTV box itself. Here’s what that means:

🔊 What “Force Max Volume” Does

    • Locks Device Volume at 100%
      • The BuzzTV box will always output audio at maximum volume.
      • You won’t be able to lower the volume using the BuzzTV remote while this option is enabled.
    • Pass‑Through Audio Control
      • The idea is that the TV or external sound system (soundbar, receiver, etc.) should control the actual listening volume.
      • BuzzTV just sends a full‑strength audio signal to avoid distortion or mismatched levels.
    • Prevents Low‑Volume Issues
    • Some IPTV streams can sound too quiet if the box volume is reduced.
    • Forcing max volume ensures consistent audio quality across all channels.

    ⚡ When to Use It

    • If you’re using a soundbar or AV receiver and want the BuzzTV box to always send a clean, full‑volume signal.
    • If you’ve noticed channels sounding too low even when your TV volume is high.
    • If you want to avoid accidentally lowering BuzzTV’s internal volume and confusing it with your TV’s volume.

⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind

    • You’ll need to adjust volume only on your TV or sound system once this is enabled.
    • If you prefer controlling volume with the BuzzTV remote, leave this option disabled.
    • It doesn’t boost sound beyond normal — it just locks the box’s output at 100%.

👉 Bottom line: “Force Max Volume” makes the BuzzTV box always output audio at full strength, leaving volume control to your TV or external speakers. It’s mainly for users who want consistent sound quality and avoid double‑volume control issues.

I have one question. I also have a BUZZ 4500 which I believe the BUZZ APP is preloaded. If it is not where can I get that app and what name would it be under?

Thank you for the help it is really appreciated.

all buzz comes with buzztv app and its same procedure with 4500.

  7. connect an eternal usb storage or a micro sd card then go to buzz tv app, menu, settings, configurations, back & restore, backup, select on screen options, select servers, click backup, select external storage by using using dpad on remote and click next and thats it.

if you don't have an external device you can make backup in internal storage then once done you can remotely transfer from your device to you pc over local network before you reset.

My buzztv was unable to reboot after updating

no need to open multiple threads but I guess this is correct thread that you don't have x5 SS model?

if you are stuck on boot sequence then try to factory reset.
