  1. I just replicated something similar on my E2. If I try going through selecting the channel directly from the Adult category, it will ask for the PIN (I ignore it and don't enter a PIN). Then if I go to ALL CHANNELS, and scroll all the way to the adult channels, and select one, it does not ask for a PIN. It plays normally. I tried going to a few different ones and no issue playing them. Tried going back to the Adult category, and if I select a channel there, it asks me for a PIN again. And the odd part, is typically adult category channels (when using PIN), do NOT show up in your "last channel list". But when you select them through the "all channels" category, all the adult channels you change to are in the "last channel" list, and can be selected (with no PIN requirement). However, unlike Redbaron's case, if I enter the channel number directly, it will ask me for a PIN. I'll check my X5 shortly. Time to change a few channels to get rid of the channels from my last channel history
  2. The only one that is User configurable is the FAVORITES category. They rest are defined by your service provider.

If CEC is turned on, on the TV and the box, the box will go off as soon as you turn off the TV But CEC needs to be on on both the TV and the X5.
  4. In that case, do a search for "B07GX5PBG8" on amazon canada and you will find what you are looking for
  5. if the 3900 is anything like my 3000, it does use a smaller barrel connector than the 4000 series or new "X"5 series. However as far as I know, all Buzz boxes will work fine with 5V, 2A power supplies (center positive). Only exceptions are the xrs4900 and the U5, which require a 12V power supply due to the onboard SATA HDD socket. Oh ya, and a few of the boxes (like the E5) which use USB connections (which are 5V in essence) for power. I don't have a 3900 so can't confirm barrel, but if someone can confirm if it is the same as the xpl3000, then you will find that "Artronix" is selling some power supplies on amazon canada that are compatible with "Buzztv Xpl1000 Xpl2000 Xpl3000" and some MyGica boxes. Modest price of $15, which is reasonable I guess. It's an option.
  6. I know that in some cases, if you do a factory reset on some boxes, it will download and install BuzzTV 5. It was in beta back in the days, but it is no longer beta. If you do download beta, that is not a problem, because within minutes of powering back up, it will find the latest buzztv 5 version and download and install that, and you will be at the latest (non-beta) version. But like nbs said. allaboutbuzz is the best person to sort this out for you.
  7. Have you tried changing the media player ? Menu->settings->configuration and you should have video player right on top for live TV. Should have Primary and Backup. Choose the opposite of what you have selected now.
  8. Do you want to remove complete categories, or have a list of channels with just the channels you want ? To hide categories, when you bring up the channel list, and you are in the categories list, check out the colored buttons on the bottom, the green one will say "Organize favorites". If you press the green button, you will see all the categories with checklist boxes next to them, and you can select which ones you want to see and/or hide. For channels, you can just select the channels you want, and press the yellow button to add to your Favorites list. Then you can just use the favorites category all the time. And even then, once you have the list of channels under "Favorites" category, you will see on the bottom again, colored buttons, I believe the Blue button, is to organize favorites, which will bring up another list with checkmarks where you can select channels, and then move them (reorder) within the favorite channel listing.
  9. I sent you a test playlist url with a small number of channels. If changing player does not help, give it a try and let us know if that list works.
  10. LOL. 70% on the TV (so that would be max). Hey most TVs nowadays have tiny speakers (and no sound bar on in). After that, I control the volume from the Buzz box variable output). So I can put the buzz box at 25%, and the volume is reasonable. Hey if I need, I can always use the secondary volume controls on the BT200 But hey, deaf ? I certainly don't have all my hearing, considering the number of rock concerts I had gone to as a kid. But that's not all bad. I asked an old buddy of mine how he managed to get to 50yrs of marriage, and he gave me an honest answer. He lost most of his hearing after about 5 years, and after that it was great. lol. But once I hit 50, eyesight has gone down also. Oh well. Such is life.
  11. Ya, I know. But I'm a little old school and not crazy about all this "automation" with CEC and stuff. If I want to turn on my TV, I will hit the button to turn on my TV. If I want to turn on my Buzz box, I will do so. With the old buzz boxes, I used to turn the box on first and only turn the TV on about a minute later, since late at night, I did not want to here the boot animation music track, since it was quite loud. I still have my StreamPro G1, and have moved it to my Garage TV, since boot audio track was a little much. I'd live to seen one last OTA update to "just" remove the boot audio track on that (or even an update ZIP file we could apply ourselves if we wanted) I have set my main TV to automatically go into suspend mode if no signal for 15 seconds, and auto wake up with signal presence. Works great. I just turn on the buzz box, and my TV comes to life No "smart" remote really needed. And I have set the TV volume to default to about 70%, and just use the volume control on the buzz box (ie: turned off the "force max volume" option). Super simple.
  12. For these cases, I prefer the BT200. No it is not a smart remote, but you can at least learn the POWER/SOURCE/VOL+/VOL- buttons of your TV remote and at least you don't need a second remote. Yes, you press one button to turn on the TV, and one button to turn on the buzz box, but it works well. But obviously, this was probably not a choice when the box was purchased, since I think the new boxes come with a BT300.
  13. Were you watching something else while it was scheduled to record ? This is not the issue, but be careful if you only have 1 connection. With a single connection, you can either record what you are watching, OR a single scheduled recording, assuming you are not watching any other channel. However if changing video player does not help, the other thing you can try is to change the stream type. In Configuration, I believe it is at the bottom, change from TS to HLS or vice versa. You will need to reload the server for this to take effect (may as well just restart the box to be sure) after changing this setting.
  14. There has been maybe half a dozen in these forums, so what is the problem ? They are being offered solutions to correct a glitch. It's not like they are being abandoned.
  15. What box are you using exactly. Which version of BuzzTV are you running. Are you recording by pressing Record while watching, or scheduled recordings ? Have you tried changing the media player in the configuration ? Is your sub MAC or XC/M3U type ? Does your service allow more than one simultaneous connection ?
  16. Scroll to the bottom of this page and on the bottom left you will see a little drop down saying "Theme". Click on it, and you will have 2 options..Select "4.4 Default" not the "dimension" one. This should fix the display issues, including the grey circle icon on the bottom right of each posting. Is this a NEW box ? Or did it work previously and suddenly stopped working ? IF this is a new box, where did you buy it from ? Legit Buzz reseller, or some random amazon/ebay seller ?
  17. I have never seen that on any buzz box (and I have quite a few). Do you have a picture, to get a better idea ? How did you do the factory reset ? From the recovery menu (using button in AV hole) ?

Keep us posted. I was pretty sure the amlogic devices could only boot from mSD.

    CoreELEC

OK.. My bad. Guess it's been updated since the last time I checked it Either way, pretty sure that amlogic will only boot recovery media via mSD card. You can install updates and stuff from USB, but recovery/full booting can only be done via mSD. So on these boxes, I don't think you have an option other than mSD. On PCs, USB is perfectly fine, since they boot from USB. But obviously, the dilemma is, how do you boot from mSD on a device that has no mSD slot Maybe @Betatester can elaborate if the HD5 has actually been tested (or just assumed, since it is similar family as the X5 and U5).

Nobody ever said you can use it on an HD5 They Added support for BuzzTV X5 as of CoreELEC 19.5-Matrix_rc2 (July 27th, 2022).
  21. I know if definitely used to work. But I don't recall if it was with Buzz 4.x or 5.x, since the 4900 in my bedroom (where I used to use it most) I held off from updating to 5.x for a while, to avoid any "wife" complaints. The other 4900 which I do most of my testing on, I was not using the option much. Guess @allaboutbuzzcould take a look at it at one point. Nothing urgent, since it doesn't affect any playback issues, but it is a handy feature for when you doze off in front of the TV Thanks for testing guys.
  22. Just curious if anyone has recently tested the "Auto Shut Off App" timer ? I have had it set for 2hrs on my xrs4900 that I have in my bedroom, yet it no longer seems to work. Earlier today I tried it on my B5 also. Set it to 1hr, went off to run some errands, had supper, and came back 3hrs later and it was still streaming. Thought initially it was possibly a glitch in one of the players, but I have tried both Primary and backup. Also tried with 3 different providers and one customer list of direct public streams. All the same. Thought maybe my xrs4900 units were overdue for a reset, hence why I just tried it on the B5. I know the feature used to work (at least on my xrs4900 units), since I used to use it quite often. Curious if someone can test it and report back. Possibly some timer interrupt that is accidently being masked. Or some background event constantly resetting the timer. Thnx
  23. FYI: Alex is the dev behind Tivimate. ie: the one behind "AR Mobile Dev" and recently name changed to "Armobsoft FZE"
  24. A little more detail would help.
  25. Get off your entitled high horse. You bought a buzz box, and most people who buy a buzz box buy it for the BuzzTV app that is integrated in it. The remote and many other featured are very integrated into the built in apps. You buy the box to use it with 3rd party apps, then the 3rd party apps should be the ones adapting to various boxes. Doesn't sound like a Buzz box is something you really wanted. You seem to want some very generic android box, which allows you to customize everything. Well this is not it. Launcher is locked down, and everything very integrated. And many of us like the choices made. You ask nicely, many features get implemented in future updates. You sound entitled and get into hissy fits, you get ignored. Simple as that. The box is a BuzzTV box, not a Tivimate box.
