Your internal storage is not over 80% full ? Have you tried a full hardware reset using the pin method ? Yes this will clear everything on the box. Below is a link to the full reset (Different box model, but procedure is the same). https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/

First of all you should not have revived a 2yr old thread, since it has been out of beta for AGES!!! You should have started your own thread. No issues with recordings here either. What type of sub do you have, MAC based, XC API, or M3U ? What stream type do you have set ? Menu->Settings->configuration->Stream format. Maybe try changing stream format. Sometimes after an update it can have a side effect of changing some settings.

Have you tried a factory reset, just in case ? Here is the link for a hardware reset. Different model, but process is identical. https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/

Guide offset not changing anything?
Emporium replied to TeknikL's topic in XR4500 / XRS4500 / XRS4500 MAX
Agreed, but he did post in the 4500 section. So I am "assuming" he has a 4500 Aren't all the 4500 boxes capable of it ? Can probably get it using the "2015" method. -
Guide offset not changing anything?
Emporium replied to TeknikL's topic in XR4500 / XRS4500 / XRS4500 MAX
BuzzTV 5 does an auto adjustment between your timezone and the timezone provided by the EPG server. For BuzzTV 4, it can be tricky to get it right. When you change offset, you sometimes have to select "Clear EPG" to force it to redownload it. And I found that sometimes it help to Change offset, Clear EPG, and then long press the "back" key to exit the BuzzTV 4 app. Then relaunch it. Sometimes a "clear cache" before restarting also help. However once it is fixed, it works fine. It is unfortunately a little picky. But like Ryu mentioned, on the xrs4500, why not upgrade to BuzzTV 5. It runs quite well on the 4500. It's a no brainer. -
**NEW** Buzz 5 App Update - Version 935 - June 5th, 2024
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
Please stick to one thread for support. You already have your own thread started for the same issue. FYI: Email support with the info that Ryu mentioned in that thread. They'll get you sorted out. -
Does the service you got from your "provider" allow multiple connections ? If not. then if you are watching TV while it is scheduled to record, it will fail. Using MAC/XC or M3U type sub ?

There is NO word no plans or promises of any of the existing boxes getting BuzzTV 6. Let's get the new Android 13 boxes first, and we'll see if any of the Android 11 boxes ever get it. I'm sure when there is a decision or if there will be plans for it, it will be announced.

Never tried it. But I can try it sometime on the weekend (if someone does not try it before that) Worst case, instead of using a second BT400, you can use a ARQ200 which is an RF remote with a USB dongle. I know for a fact that you can use the ARQ200 with any other remote also. OR, if one of the remotes has direct line of site, you can pair one BT400 and use it with BT for the one that is not in the same room as the box, and for the other one, just use the remote unpaired in IR mode. The Buzz remotes have a pretty nice range/angle on their IR transmitters/receivers.

When you say you did a factory reset... Through the BuzzTV 5 menus, or using the PIN hardware method ? I did have one box that had issues at one point and the only thing that fixed it was a HARDWARE (pin method) reset.

Both boxes are great. Software is identical. Where they differ is the U5 has the onboard slot underneath to be able to install a 2.5" SATA drive (I recommend an SSD - due to less heat generation and quicker access). If you will be doing a lot or PVR recording, or downloading of your VOD movies, then the U5 is a little more convenient. However with the addition of a USB3 storage device, you can do the same on the X5. Keep in mind that there are 2 new devices which will be released soon. There is the Buzz P6 Powerstation, and the X5 Supersport. You can google them to get some details regarding them (or you can check the forums on this site dedicated to those boxes - info is posted as it becomes available). They will come with Android 13, and if they launch with BuzzTV 5, they will eventually be upgraded to BuzzTV 6 via an OTA update.

You'll find all the same guys from satfix forums here. We already provided the comparisons (in that forum), so you can make an educated choice. No point in re-iterating everything. We all have our preferences and for different reasons. There is no right or wrong choice. Both boxes are great. Just depends on your preferences now.

OK.. Just saw it on the other forum.. spent more time posting, than checking out his own config. And at the end does not even say "what" the issue was. All over the place.

Have you tried a different provider, just to see if it is not something the provider has changed recently ? You can find hard reset instructions here: https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/

First issue could be that the box is NOT connected to the internet (regardless if you are wired). Try other app like Youtube to ensure internet is up. If it is up, then it could be your ISP, possibly blocking. Try with a VPN and see if it helps. Or maybe your service provider is has ISP/IP locked your account on the panel, and with change of IP due to new modem, they need to reset your account to take into account the new IP range. For the issue of the box no longer powering up, it could be a bad power supply. Are you 100% sure you did not accidently swap the power adapter for the buzz box, with one from another box ? the XR4000 uses a 5V power supply (typically 5V, 2A) ? And even though you say the outlet is good.. take it to another room, don't need to plug it into a TV, but plug the power adapter in and connect it to the box and see if the lights come on.

Oh, you can !!! But should you is a different story Different people have different needs. And some people love their toys. The 4500 and 4900 boxes have aged well. They were and still are pretty nice boxes. As a matter of fact, I have many of the newer boxes (X5, U5, Classic, etc..) but my 2 main boxes are still my xrs4900 boxes. Keep in mind that this and the X5 SS will come with BuzzTV 6, so will come with a bunch of new features. Can't wait to try it out. I'd be very surprised if BuzzTV 6 is released to the series 4 boxes (Android 9). Maybe, eventually to some Series 5 (Android 11), but even there, not 100% sure. We'll have to see what Buzz surprises us with.

No, it is for LiveTV channels only. But only for HLS streams (so depends on your server capabilities). Power button definition can be controlled directly in the settings. You can configure the power button on remote to do a suspend, shutdown, or restart. By default I believe it is set to "suspend". But I always switch it to "shutdown". So pressing the power button, initiates a proper shutdown.

Right now,the latest public version of BuzzTV is version 5. So the answers below reflect that. BuzzTV 6, will be released relatively soon, with the introduction of the X5 SS, and the P6 powerstation, and some of the answers below may change. 1. Yes it does, options are under the BuzzTV Utilities and give you details choices for enabling it under LiveTV, VOD/TV Series and PVR recordings. Also has some other advance settings (for 3rd party apps). 2. Buffer settings, allow you to choose between 1 to 10 seconds on LiveTV. There a "RealTime streaming" (RTS) option, which can buffer up to one minute ahead on HLS streams only. And with RTS enabled you can also FFWD to skip to the fastest available part of the stream. 3. You can add dozens of portals. But you need to switch between them on BuzzTV 5. 4. This is an option that can be set in the configuration menu (Start Live TV on Boot). And I know it works, since I do that on my mom's box. 5. Standby is standby, so no, there are no boot scripts launched when coming out of standby, so the answer is no. Either way, after having used 100s of boxes over the years, I have learned to prefer the complete shutdown of the box when not using it. Suspend/standby tends to cause issues over time on most boxes. Memory leaks, poor OEM drivers, and other issues tend to accumulate over time when always using suspend/standby mode. Hence I prefer taking the extra minute to properly do a clean boot every time, instead of throwing the dice, and then wondering if glitches, hiccups, micro-freezes, etc.. are due to my server, my box, my ISP, etc.. This way, I know the box is at least fresh boot every time. And for 1 extra minute, it is not a killer.

My interpretation of his request is to adjust the increment "size" of the fwd/rwd jumps. ie: being able to define if a single tap on FWD would advance by 10s, 15s, 30s, or even just 5s per press. Right now, both Primary and backup players I believe is 10secs. With VLC on Android, I do not see any "adjustment" to even define what a "normal" jump period is. On the Windows and Mac versions of VLC there is an option to define it, if you go to "tools->preferences->hotkeys" at the bottom, select to show "All" settings, instead of "simple". Then scroll down to "interface->hotkey" settings, you will then see the definition of the jump length in seconds. For VOD and TV Series I tried a few external players (obviously android), and both VLC and HB players default to 10 seconds, and no option to adjust. Only player I saw an option to adjust is MX player pro, which under player/navigation settings, it defaults to 10 seconds, but allows you to adjust it to anything between 1 to 60 secs. So at least MX Player is an option for VOD/TV Series if someone wants to be able to adjust it. For adjusting it on liveTV/Catchup (internal primary and backup players), I guess that would be dependant on the player libraries used by Buzz. Assuming that the players even have the options available internally, and then for Buzz to "expose" them somewhere for user to be able to adjust if they want. But that would be a new feature addition.

First of all, something is not normal with your box slowing down on large files. I have easily streamed 50GB BluRay rips (with a dozen or so included soundtracks and dozens of subtitle tracks encoded in the mkv), without an issue in the past directly from my Synology RS2418+ NAS, and from my smaller DS1817+. Secondly why are you so stuck on trying to get the U5 drive visible on windows ? Why don't you just use a file manager on the U5, and do it the opposite way around like I mentioned previously. Solid explorer, ES File explorer, Total Commander just to name a few are Android file managers which support SMB and can see windows file shares. Find the window share, select the movies you want, and copy them over to your attached storage. Not complicated really.
-
And like nbs mentioned, even the testers have not received it yet, so pointless in asking questions yet. When info is available for the general public, it will be posted.
-
Did you read what DU said ? If it is seen as internal storage, then the enable of sharing will be able to browse that also. Other option if you want is to use a file manager (I use solid explorer, but there es file explorer, total commander, etc..) which have SMB support and can access you other network shares and you can initiate the copy from your U5 and copy from your remote share to your box. I do this all the time. But WHY copy locally ? The U5 has a gigabit connection, why not just stream directly from network instead of copying locally ? Even without setting up any plex or jellyfin server, you can use VLC and it will allow you to browse your local network. I just tried it even on my older 4900 and it saw all 5 of my currently active NAS servers without even a hesitation and was able to browse and stream.
