  1. For the :message "message diag mode boot completed", curious if you are using the "Monitor Dot" application. The beta version was known to generate this message. For the internet connection issue, I'd do a reset like proposed by nbs. However are you using wired or wireless ? As a test, is it possible to try using "wired". If you are using WiFi, it could be a compatibility with the new AX wifi on this box and your existing router. Does your router have separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz separate bands showing 2 differennt SSID, or does the router handle auto band steering (with only single SSID) ? If you can disable band steering, and have 2 separate SSID (one for 2.4Ghz and one for 5Ghz), that way "you" can decide what band you connect to, it would be best and more stable.
  2. I tried ages ago to use rechargeable, but the 1.2V vs 1.5V makes them not last as long either. Sure you can just swap them in/out with another set of rechargeables and costs close to nothing, but it can be annoying. Backlight can be a killer. With rechargeable, they fade super fast. I really like the BT200 for the super easy shortcut to turn backlight on/off without even needing to see the remote. Long press bottom rightmost bottom button and it toggles.. It was genius Kill the backlight and batteries last for ages, especially if you use quality batteries (Duracell or Energizer - like buzz includes ).
  3. DU is just trying to get things concentrated in the right thread. starting a thread for EVERY issue is NOT going to get things fixed any faster. He's been doing this for ages and if you don't keep things concentrated, nothing will get addressed. So if you want to keep things on separate threads, sure you can try to help each other. But if you want Buzz to look at it, try to keep it in the thread as requested by buzz (which is what du was pointing out).
  4. follow DU's recommendation then
  5. Try going into home->settings->Device Preferences->display and Sound->Advanced sound settings and select the second option "None: Never use surround sound". Just to see if the issue persists. I know this helped another used with sound issues with YoutubeTV.
  6. Sound AND picture ? Can you be a little more descriptive ?
  7. YoutubeTV.com app ? Are you referring to the pre-installed Youtube app that comes with the box, or something else you installed ? If it is another app, did you install it from Google Playstrore, Aptoide, or sideloaded apk ?
  8. Have you PM'd allaboutbuzz with the details of the server you are using (server, sub type [xc/mac/m3u], and error message) ? If they don't know the details about some specific server, they will not be able to look into it.
  9. Does audio work with the other built in apps, like youtube and PlutoTv ?
  10. Try going into settings (from home screen), sound, and switch to the option that says "do not decode surround sound" or something like that (not at home right now).
  11. Would be nice if you explain what type of audio issues. And what type of setup. Some people have more complex setups with soundbars, receivers, audio processors/decoders, etc.. I did not notice any issue on my setup at least.
  12. Small addition for Wishlist: IN BuzzTV 6 EPG, map the CH+/CH- buttons to PGUP and PGDN like it is on the Channel list view, and on BuzzTV 5 Thanks
  13. I had the exact same issue on my B5, E5, X5 and eventually on my Classic about a year ago. And I don't know what triggered it. And I have a friend who had the exact same issue on 2 of his 3 boxes. It is not that you can't control the volume. It is that it always powers up with Volume at max. It's like the box does not remember the last volume state. OR it get's overwritten as part of the shutdown script. And reason why I say that, is that funny enough, instead of doing a "shutdown" using the remote, you pull the plug on the box, when you plug it back in, it would power up with the last volume setting. So if if you suspend or pull the plug, you don't have this issue. But if you shutdown, you need to remember to decrease the volume before launching any app, otherwise it plays at full volume Initially when the issue happened, even a hard reset would not clear the problem. Tried many times. It was reported and apparently fixed in one of the f/w updates, but my boxes continued to exhibit the issue. Then I realized that after the fix, I did have to do a hard reset for the fix to kick in for some reason. https://stbtalk.com/topic/13773-volume-issue-same-on-2-buzz-boxes/?do=findComment&comment=30640 My mom's B5 I believe still has that issue, but she has learned to live with it, and not complaining. I have not had time to hard reset her box I may just prep another box for her with all her settings, and swap it out one of these days. Anyhow, if you are latest firmware and you do a hard reset, this issue seems to be fixed (at least on my boxes). @badassaf you don't need to wait to get a connection. First set your powerkey definition to "shutdown", and force max volume to off. It is quite obvious to test. put your volume to say 1/3 of the volume. Shutdown the box, then power it up, and then try to adjust volume. If it starts at the 1/3 volume point, then it works fine. If you see that the volume starts at max, then the problem is still there. You could also start something like youtube if you prefer while you wait.
  14. I have not had issues with recording either. For now, I have been recording to onboard storage however. Had an issue with one recording yesterday, but after investigation it turned out that the specific stream was looping from the providers side, so stream probably froze at some point which killed the recording.

    Usb drive

I tried using 2 different SATA SSD (1 intel, and one Samsung) using various adapters. The basic USB to SATA simple adapters, which are 1 or 2 USB pigtails off a SATA connector, at least the 2 models I have do not work at all. They just don't see any drive. In Storage under settings, you don't even see a blip when you plug it in. I suspect this has to do with the way the USB bridges in these units handle the drives. Then I tried with a few different powered USB disk docks (2 models from Startech). With drives configured with MBR and formatted as single exFAT partition, the drives are seen, but as soon as you plug them in, they show up under the storage settings menu, but then go to "safely ejected" immediately. I even tried to do a "full format" instead of just quick format, and made no difference. Then just out of curiosity, I decided to reformat the drives in NTFS (the only other available option on my W10 machine) and then put them back in the dock and they were seen, and I even added them as my PVR destination and recorded on them without an issue. I'm surprised that Android box preferred NTFS over exFAT, but it could have something to do with kernel modules, so not sure. USB storage is definitely pickier on the P6. But some do work fine. The compatibility of more USB media, is surely something for them to work on in future firmware.
  16. The screen you are showing says you have V20240816. That is the Firmware version and according to first post in this thread, that is the current version. The IPTV version which shows 5.0.915 is the BuzzTV 5 version (in future firmware version this will change, and it will show the buzztv 6 s/w version instead). For now (until next public firmware update), go into buzztv 6, and then press the "menu" button on your remote, and you will see the s/w version on the bottom left (1.0.xx). What is it ? And from BuzzTV 6, you have gone into the menu, setting, and Check Updates ?

    SSD Problem

I have never formatted drives in my boxes. I always do it outside. If you format on the U5, you will lose the exFAT formatting.

    SSD Problem

Right click the 953GB Partition, and then select delete Volume If you can, right click and delete volume on the small 16MB partition. Then right click the empty space, and create new volume and follow the prompts to be able to create partition and format it. If exFAT is an option format it as exFAT ideally.

    SSD Problem

First thing I would have said, is to verify the power supply on the U5. Unlike other Buzz boxes, the xrs4900, the U5, and the new P6 use a 12V power supply, not a 5V like the other boxes. However considering they are no longer even seen on your PC, then the disks seem to be dead. I've used many SSD on my 4900 and U5, and I have only ever has a single drive fail. Mind you, I have never used samsung drives, I typically use intel or micron enterprise class ssd. When you say you don't see them on your PC, they don't even show up in device manager, or disk manager ? Corrupted partition can happen, but the drive itself does not even show up in device manager under "disks" ? Windows+R to get the run dialog and you type diskmgmt.msc to bring up drive manager, and the drive is not there ?
  20. 5.0.925 ? That's strange.. My BuzzTV 5 version is 5.0.915. If you launch BuzzTV 5, and press Menu button, on the bottom, what is the version number ? Do the same for BuzzTV 6.. From home page ? From home page, menu button does nothing on mine. Need to be in one of the buzztv 6 apps (livetv, vod, tv series, epg, pvr or server settings) for menu button to work in my case.
  21. Did you do a hard reset (true factory default) after updating to BuzzTV 5 ? You can find the procedure here: https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/ Slightly different box, but procedure is identical. Keep in mind you will need to reinstall/reconfigure everything after the reset. Are you using WiFi or Hardwired with Ethernet cable ? If you are using WiFi, as a test, can you try running an ethernet cable back to your device and see if the same issues persist with cable and wifi ? May just be taking the box longer to connect to your WiFi router. Not all routers are created equal.

    Usb ports

Have you tried other different brand/size usb sticks ? I have piles (at least 100) usb sticks. And initially I was unlucky and one of the sticks (which works fine on my Classic) was not being recognized by the P6. I'd insert it, and you'd see in the storage screen, that it would see it inserted and then quickly eject it (stick works fine in all other boxes I've tried). Second stick I tried, same thing. But eventually I used an identical stick as the first one, which I did a clean wipe (using diskpart on my windows PC), then create an FAT32 partition and copied files on it, and it worked perfectly. Tried a few other sticks, and had no issue. But those first 2 sticks, I have no clue what it does not like. It is on my list of things to analyze and see WHAT it does not like with those. IS it the partition type, size, MBR vs GPT, or some other factor ? Maybe try a different stick or 2 and see.
  23. For EPG, it was either corrupted and it refreshed, or server EPG was down for a while (it happens from time to time, but since they are cached, some people don't realize it. For the other one, I would send a PM to allaboutbuzz with the server details.
  24. From LiveTV, did you go to the menu->Settings->Check for updates ?
  25. For the EPG, did you try to clear cache on the buzztv6 app ? And/or ClearEPG via the menu->settings ? I've seen it once where the EPG got corrupted and it seemed to have "vanished". A clear cache fixed that case. Worst case, just as a test try to cteate 2 new server entries with the same credentials to see if they work with NEW entries.
