The legend for what the colored buttons do are typically at the bottom of the various screens. They do different things, depending on what screen you are at.

**NEW** Buzz 5 App Update - Version 935 - June 5th, 2024
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
Would be a shame to have a perfectly capable box sitting doing nothing because of a bad flash. I would strongly recommend taking allaboutbuzz's offer. Even out of warranty, Buzz would take care of reflashing it. It was an unfortunate bug in the 06/24 firmware, but Buzz does step up and take care of those customers even though most of the boxes are out of warranty by now. You'd probably just have to pay for shipping there (don't know where you are located). -
You also mentioned to me that when you schedule a recording and you are watching some other channel, you get a countdown timer and then it changes to that channel to start the recording. Is that still the case, or did I misunderstand ? If that is the case, even though account info says max 3 or 4 connections and active 1, for some reason, the buzztv software seems to think there are no more connections available so it will switch your current active stream. So I don't know if there is any other flag being negotiated by the XC login client (ie: your box) and the server panel, or does the client just check "MAX connections" minus "Active connection" to see if there are any available connections ?

He said he had a Classic, so typically the Classic comes with a BT-250, so there is no programming as with the BT300/400. IT is just learning keys from TV remote.

Lol.. Same codes as some of the 2nd tier brands like TCL, Haier, Vizio, etc.. My mom's does the same when she turns on/off her electric fireplace, she has a Haier Since the remote is connected to the STB using BT, you can try covering the IR receiver on the front of the STB. However there are some cases I've seen, that power on for the STB requires IR. But you can experiment.

Just curious, is the UK category one of the first categories in your providers natural lineup ? Reason I ask, is that I have one friend who swear that his box, every time he turns it on, it goes to the 4th channel (yes channel #4 without any renumbering active)) in the first category (which in his case is a 24/7 channel). Funny part, I use the same service and it has happened to me 2 or 3 times (same channel), but originally I ignored it, as a fluke, that maybe I had accidently hit some button before powering down.

**NEW** Buzz 5 App Update - Version 935 - June 5th, 2024
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
But they didn't post what versions they have Agreed, the update for the firmware to s/w is from where YOU mentioned. But for data on which version of f/w and s/w should be from Updates screen. -

Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
If what DU mentions above, does not help... From Home screen, go up to the gear icon, and there there is an UPDATES option. On the left of that screen you should be able to see Firmware version, and Buzz Software Version. Please post what versions you have. -
MAC server or XC ? If it is MAC based server, then I recommend asking your reseller to do a MAC reset on your account. Do other apps like Youtube work ? From the Updates screen, what is your Firmware and Software versions ?

**NEW** Official U5 Firmware + Buzz 5 App Update - April 3rd, 2023
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in U5
You can't.. It is an OTA download only direct to box. -
**NEW** Official U5 Firmware + Buzz 5 App Update - April 3rd, 2023
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in U5
It should typically auto download. If not, from LiveTV, try going to Menu->Settings->Check Updates If that still does not work, please go to the updates screen (from Home screen, go to the gear icon on the top, and then select the Updates option), and let us know what is your current firmware version and Current IPTV Version. -
First of all, no one ever said backups would backup any 3rd party apps. They back up BuzzTV settings. Backing up 3rd party app settings, is the responsibility of the 3rd party app developers. Everyone does things differently, and Buzz is not going to guess how and what needs to be backed up, or go down that rabbit hole. Doing a machine snapshot (like they used to do on older boxes), kind of defeats the purpose of doing a factory reset, if you are just going to restore the same junk over the box. The point of a factory reset is to try to start from clean slate, without the possibility of some 3rd party app causing the issues. Now for recording not being able to FF, that is a server stream issue. Buzz just records the unaltered stream. If that stream is encoded in strange ways there are some which cannot be FF or REW (and this will also affect TS). And that will vary from channel to channel. I've tested with a few different servers and some work perfect all the time, and others even the same channel (probably different sources) will just not behave properly on playback. Trying to FF or REW will sometimes even force the stream to play from the beginning again. But that is the source stream. Have you tried to change the stream type ? From LiveTV (menu->settings->configuration and I think it is the 7th settings from the top. Also, keep the RealTime Streaming and Tunneled playback turned off for better compatibility with some servers. Forcing the stream type to TS can sometimes yield better results for recordings.

**NEW** Buzz 5 App Update - Version 935 - June 5th, 2024
Emporium replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in BuzzTV 5
Agreed. But when I had downloaded from MEGA initially, I downloaded the "folder" by clicking "Download as ZIP", so mega compresses it into a zip file (and names it after the directory name) to download a single file. I had kept it like that in my archives, and then at one point I had uploaded it to my mediafire account for a few colleagues. Since I know the ZIP file is intact and the files in it I have been used a few times for updating boxes, leaving it in ZIP format ensures the integrity of the files also. Just an additional measure to ensure no corruption during download. If the file gets corrupted during download, CRC would not match and any decent zip handler would flag it. Sure, call me paranoid, but last thing anyone needs for a "flash" file is a corrupted binary @Jedab keep us posted on how it goes. -

Sorry buddy.. I just got in from the office and I realized I already had them on my mediafire account, all I did was move them to my public share directory. And being in the original ZIP file, you can easily tell if there was any corruption in the file during download, since it would flag it when unzipping it. -

Here are the files to use. Basically, unzip and need to put the 3 files onto the root of an SD Card (not in a subfolder) The SD Card must be min 2GB, no bigger than 64GB Formatted to FAT32 Originally on: https://mega.nz/folder/TIlUzZhR#vIOZKq43u3MS3Y3zoFHdkQ Reuploaded here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/iik0ho6kxbv942p/X5-Boot-Card.zip/file It will reset your box, but it will take it to 20220811 FW, which from there can get all Future OTAs Here is the How To Video for it as well https://mega.nz/file/CJtxhb7I#TcHg2uOdPghzRQmipi7sMd5A3-ZcOz8sticOYByRuB0 The only comment I would make on the video is: In the video at about the 2minute mark it shows the box with RED light, and shows it quickly switch to blue. In reality, that can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes before it turns blue and powers up. During this period DO NOT unplug it. I thought something had gone wrong with mine when I did it, but I waited. Be patient, it will eventually power up. It is a long 3 or 4 minutes when you are just staring at it, but it works well. Be patient. Do not reset the box, even if it looks lifeless -

V20220624 was unfortunately a bad firmware, since it had an accidental bug, that it would no longer take updates It unfortunately happens. There is a way to flash it manually using a microSD card (no it can't be done using a USB stick). Check out this thread: https://stbtalk.com/topic/4446-new-official-x5-firmware-buzz-5-app-update-september-22nd-2022/?do=findComment&comment=16422 And check out my comments at the time which I had made for those doing the update themselves https://stbtalk.com/topic/4446-new-official-x5-firmware-buzz-5-app-update-september-22nd-2022/?do=findComment&comment=16554 -
Time for a factory reset. Since it is new, you probably don't have much customizations. And if you have many servers, just use the backup features, it works well.
-
If the problem persist, then it is probably your providers panel that is overloaded during certain times of the day and probably timing out out during login. Maybe it's time to try another service and compare the stability. Services are quite cheap and no obligations. Either way, like I tell people, you should always have a second service as a backup, because there is no such thing as a PERFECT server. Even the best of them will occasionally have their off day.
-
When you say no go, do you get some sort of error message ? What login type you using ? MAC/XC/M3U ? I'm assuming it is not MAC since you said you have multiple connections. Did you check to see if the box is recognizing that you have multiple connections (from LiveTV menu->settings->account info - what does it say for connections) ?
-
I get full 7 days+ on my service also and pretty instantaneous. Do you have any special characters in your username/password ? Something like "!/\&*()$#@" etc.. ? IF you do, many servers can have issues with that. Have you tried with another service to see if the problem is the service or the box ? I'm suspecting the service honestly.
-
But does the recording of 30 minutes ONLY affect those recording crossing the midnight mark, or ALL recordings ? Someone recently mentioned on another thread (where it affected all of their recordings), and a hard factory reset seems to have fixed their problem. If you don't have too many 3rd party apps on the device, you can backup your servers/favorites to USB stick, and then do a factory reset, restore your servers and try again. Factory reset: https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/ Different device, same procedure however
-
I just tried both through recording from EPG, and doing it manually and have no issue at least setting it up. Are you sure that the END DATE is set correctly to the NEXT day when you do that ? Otherwise you are trying to go through a worm hole in time, to stop in the past

Guide offset not changing anything?

From the updates screen, where is shows you the Firmware and Software Version. and from there on your remote, type 2015 (you won't see anything while you type however). Your device will either update to BuzzTV 5, or you will get a message that "no beta is available" or something like that. Disregard the "beta" message since BuzzTV 5 has been out of beta for ages If you get the message that is not available you have 2 choices. 1. You can try a hardware reset of the box. It has been known that many 4500 will automatically update to buzzyv 5 after a hardware reset. https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/ 2. Send your MAC info to allaboutbuzz and he can add your box to the list to get an OTA update to BuzzTV 5 BuzzTV 5 on the 4500 runs like a charm you'll wonder why you did not upgrade earlier
