  1. When you say it is not recognizing your USB, have you checked under storage to see if it is there ? Or are you assuming it is not recognizing it because it does not see the backup ? Have you checked the USB key on a PC to see if there is a ZIP file on the key ? ZIP file would have a name similar to this "buzztv-backup-20240223_205621.zip" except the numbers would be different to represent the DATE and time you did the backup. On Android 9 devices (like the XR4500), it is quite possible that the backup was NOT done to the USB stick, but rather to your internal storage. It has been mentioned many times, on many threads here and on other forums, that you will need to copy the backup file over to the USB manually on Android 9 devices. But, if you already reset your device, that file is now gone. If the drive does have the zip file on it, then you can just enabled network shares on the xr4500, and then use a PC top copy the ZIP file over to the xr4500 via a network share. But that assumes the zip file is actually on the USB key. If I recall the zip file contains just a .yaml file in it which contains all the backup info. No zip file, no backup unfortunately.
  2. Something obviously looped. Do a hard reset (link posted above by nbs).
  3. I have one on my desk (where I test a few boxes, and it works fine with any buzz box). Obviously, keep in mind, that it is an IR remote (no bluetooth).
  4. Not sure however that you will be able to distinguish what is internal and what is your SSD, and what goes where. And you will not be able to eject it and plug it into a PC to copy anything off of it.
  5. From main menu, if you go into settings, and select "location" you can turn it on if you want. I just don't see the point. Use Aptoide store (as mentioned by Ryu), or sideload anything you want. I'm in Canada also, and have no issue installing any app so far.
  6. Typically (and in most cases) yes.. Unfortunately, not always on the main updates page. Which is why I typically say to check the bottom of the menu. Example on my X5 AX-C.. The release notes of the last firmware update, take up most of the area (I like to see release notes), you'd have to go and then scroll down (and I honestly didn't check if it says it further down - I assume it does)..
  7. Can you post what version of Firmware and Software you are running ? Just to make sure you are running the latest versions, and you are not for some odd reason stuck at an older version. Software version you can easily find if you press the menu button when watching LiveTV, and it is at the bottom V5.0.xxx. Firmware you can find in the Updates screen V202xXXYY
  8. He did say "power off configured to suspend" I would not go back to home screen (if you press "home" more than once, it closes background apps, so not sure what it does with background recordings). If you are planning to put it in suspend, then may as well leave it in the LiveTV app and hit suspend.
  9. For the whopping 5W to 7W of power that these boxes use, why not just leave it on, and turn off just your TV ? When your VCR used to record a show, did you turn it off and expect it to continue recording ?
  10. After the main update, check to see if there are any other updates. Or give it some time, it will update. BuzzTV app pretty sure should be up to 5.0.919 if I recall.
  11. Cable or sat services have them encoded.. So you can control them. IPTV streams are captured streams and they include whatever the source has enabled. If they have accidently enabled DVS, then that is just too bad, and that is the audio stream you will get. And no, it makes no sense for Buzz to start adding all sorts of dumb options to ty to filter out specific audio within an audio stream. That is ludicrous. Find another source for your channel. I used to have a service in the past where one common channel I would watch, would every so often flip to DVS on. I'd poke my contact at the service, and they would contact the source who would disable it.. Then few weeks later, it would come back and it would be a repeat of the same. Eventually I found another source for the same channel. That is why people always say, for IPTV, you should always have a backup service. Anyhow, this is the last reply.. It is pointless to keep asking for something that can't be done. The problem is not the software, it is the source stream. If the stream has 2 audio streams, you will see it by pressing the "green" options button when you are watching the channel. If not, you live with what they have. And just because YOU don't want the DVS channels, does not mean the visually impaired don't. You don't ant them (just like many of the international channels), just don't add them to your favorites list.
  12. THERE IS NO WORKAROUND POSSIBLE for the streams you are referring to. There is only 1 AUDIO track received on that stream and it has embedded Descriptive video not encoded, so it can't be selectively be turned off. Just like you CAN'T disable hardcoded subtitles in some movies, since they are PART of the video. You can't disable the DVS on these streams because they are PART of the audio stream and embeded, not encoded. If they were encoded, you would see 2 audio streams.. On some of my private streams, I have some french channels that DO have 2 audio streams.. 1 is the normal basic audio, and the other one includes DVS when there is DVS for a specific program. You don't seem to comprehend how IPTV works, and how the streams are obtained....
  13. NO, because it is not ENCODED into the stream you refer to. It is embedded. The buzz software does support multiple language tracks and it works just fine with streams that have multiple audio. Just like it works with multiple subtitles. If you get a movie that has hardcoded subtitles however, then you CANNOT disable them, since they are embedded in the video, not just a subtitle you can enable/disable. Same idea with this audio.
  14. What part of this is NOT controlled by the software did you not comprehend from the reply in the other forum ? This is the source stream that has enabled Descriptive video and you can't turn it off, unless someone advises the source that DVS is enabled and to turn it off on their end. If there were 2 audio streams included in the feed (one with and one without DVS) you would have seen it when you press the "options" button when streaming the channel. It's just like when you download a video stream from my security cameras. I have enabled the timestamp and other message on my video feed. YOU can't turn it off. It is embedded and NOT "encoded" into the video.
  15. The problem is probably with 1 specific stream, because I have a lot of public IPTV channels (in a personal list) and do not have any issue recording them and I am at the latest version on all my boxes. When you say pubic iptv, can you Private message the details to either nbs, myself or dishuser ? so we can at least reproduce it ?
  16. You should not post your MAC in public. The intention was to send it to allaboutbuzz in a Private Message and he would take care of it. BTW: Is there any reason you never updated you xrs4500 to BuzzTV 5 and still on version 4 ? To update to buzztv 5, try going to the Updates screen, and on the remote type "2015" (you will not see anything), and see if it offers to send you buzzTV 5 (otherwise allaboutbuzz can push it).
  17. I don't know exactly what triggered it, but it is strange. I suspect something is happening when you are entering the info with the remote. I know it is not obvious, but spaces slip in, The "0" digits as capital "O", a number "1" as lowercase "l", combined with the potential of a extra space after a "." automatically inserted by the google virtual keyboard, or automatic capitalization after a period, etc.. it can be anything. I've done it many times and I stare at it for a while and it still looks good 95% of the time now, I use the web page option, since it is easier to cut&paste from an email, and that way less chance for error, and it is quicker to setup a bunch of different ones (if you have more than one service). Anyhow, just glad you are back up an running. Enjoy.
  18. Can you try creating server using a web browser on your PC ? When you go into the server screen on the buzz box, on the top right under the ServerID it will give you a link like "http://192.168.x.x:8090" If you have a PC on the same network, can you open a browser, and type that link in ? You should get a page where you can ENTER a new server on your box. Give it a name (whatever you want - example Debug_test).. The select the server type, use the dropdown and select "XC API Login". Then enter the server URL, username and password and save the server. Now if you go to XC API Login on the server screen of your buzz box, you should be able to see the new entry you created. Go down and select it and press OK to try to load it. Feel free to use the URL and credentials for the other server I sent you yesterday.
  19. I just sent him a short trial for another service to test And at the same time I pointed out that android boxes sometimes add a space automatically after a "," when you are typing in the URL using the remote. You need to go back and delete the space. I typically use the very appreciated web server option since I find it easier to use my PC to enter new servers (especially when using cut&paste).
  20. Is that the screen you still get when you try to connect ? Have you tried a HARD Factory reset using the PIN method ? At the current state, I think you should try it. Here a link to hard resetting a 4500, but the procedure is the same for the majority of the boxes. https://stbtalk.com/topic/300-factory-reset-hard-reset-xr4500-xrs4500/ When you go into the "server settings", have you tried creating a NEW server entry with your provider portal URL and credentials ? What exactly is the message you get when you try to create a new one and connect with that ?
  21. OK.. First... No discussions about specific services on these forums. Secondly, after the factory reset and all, I assume your box took the update ? Does the box boot properly and get to the home page as expected ? If you were using a MAC based type of sub (ie: based on MAC of your box and a portal URL [no username/password]), you "may" need to ask your provider to do a "Device reset" on your account in their panel. That should have been the first thing they did, but sometimes they are too s....... And finally, next time, don't hijack someone else's thread. Start your own.
  22. May need to ask your provider to do a MAC RESET on your account from his panel.
  23. Considering I'm in Montreal, I guess I don't see any real issues (since my ISP is based here also). Guess if you have a VPN server in that geolocates to your city, you can connect, lock the "weather location" in the settings, and then disconnect VPN if you want. The lock feature when it was added, was pretty handy for those who use VPN. Maybe in buzztv6 we'll be able to just "choose"/override our location, instead allowing it only to auto detect (like you can do on most android phones). Or even like the MSN weather app on a PC..
  24. Many ISP will buy or lease IP segments from various other owners as they run out of IPs. However the geolocation DBs can take a while to update. I have one buddy of mine who also buys an iptv service from me, and a few months ago, I noticed that when I check my panel, that he was connected from some IP that the panel claimed was in Cleveland, and Cogent as his ISP (and I know he is from one from the Montreal suburbs). I thought, that was odd, but figured he was either on vacation, or using some VPN. When it continued for a while, I texted him to ask (just to make sure his account was not compromised), but he was not on vacation and not using VPN on any of his boxes, but it was him connected from home. Quick check on various geolocation DBs, shows that some DB had the IP listed as belonging to his ISP, and others had it listed with Cogent. But as the weeks went by, more and more of the geolocation DBs source now say that the IP belongs to his ISP (and at least in canada in the general vicinity). So I guess the IPs transferred owner (or leased) but took a while to propagate. My panel still shows him in Cleveland, but I assume the panel is using some static copy of the DB, so not doing any sort of dynamic query. So unless the panel updates the DB (I have advised them), it will continue to be incorrectly reported. If you just care for the location shown on the home screen (ie: weather), I don't know what city you are in, but you can even use a free "windscribe" vpn account, and assuming you are in some large city which they have a free server in, you can connect to the VPN server, let the box detect the location, and then I believe you have the option to "lock" the location in the new buzztv5. Once locked, you can disable the VPN if you want. There is also protonvpn which offers a free vpn client> Both Free option have a limited number of servers available to "free" users.
  25. Everyone needs stop saying you have the most current firmware update. Just post your firmware and software version please. Also, have you tried going direct HDMI to TV, without soundbar. Just as a test ? Have you tried a NEW HDMI cable, just in case the HDMI cable is not up to par. Very strange that auto switches to 1920x1080. Thank you
