The reason for a backup is in case of an issue withtge upload It does happen occasionally but the backup makes for an easy fix3 points

It's shame. Some people prefer local options instead of being dependent on a server in the cloud. At least the local version is not dependent on buzz keeping that remote server spinning a few years down the line. Don't get me wrong, I like the UI on the remote server version, but at least the local one (even if you can only use it to add, and not edit) has no external dependencies.3 points

Thank you for the quick response. My mistake, using the wrong button! Thanks again2 points

Backup of Servers etc from the Buzz 5 app is just text data really So yes this is normal E2 had 2 ways, Buzz app and then OS backup OS backup can take 40 minutes if you have lots of Data Android made so many changes on newer versions, that backups of OS basically aren't really possible anymore. Not ones we can create ourselves, as all data is encrypted And the main developer who rooted, retired2 points

Emporium you are the BEST!! Ok what I found out. When I checked the volume buttons with my camera (as you suggested) they were not putting a signal out. I found out this remote goes to sleep after some time, and the only way it wakes it up again is if you hit the power button that turns the TV on. Once the remote is awaken and only then, will it send a signal from the other buttons on the remote. Once I found this out it was very easy to program the BT350 to use the other buttons from the Insignia Fire TV remote. Buy the way I did have it setup as you suggested ( If programming does not work, another option for you would be to change your buzz box to disable "max volume" and that way the main volume buttons on the b350 would allow the buzz box to output a variable audio level. So you can then set your TV volume to something like 60% or 70%, and then the buzz box would output a variable level and when it is at max, it would represent the level you set on your TV.) I just wanted a way I could also control the TV volume just in case I would for some reason need to raise or lower the TV volume. Thank you once again for your superb help Emporium, I can ALWAYS depend on you!!2 points

Completely USELESS response. The original user did not ever come back to say what his issue was. When the original post says "some programs sound very loud, some soft, others no sound", that has nothing to do with any setting the buzz box can change. That has to do with the server itself and lack of any volume normalization over the various channel encoding. Regurgitating AI generated irrelevant replies has no value and will just confuse people looking for real answers.2 points

There is already a thread for feature requests. You don't need to create a new one. It is the first Sticky on the Powerstation thread. https://stbtalk.com/topic/14151-buzztv6-application-wishlist-for-new-features-and-enhancements/2 points

Guess it was muscle memory. Where the back button is on the BT/IR 100/200 remotes, is now the GUIDE/EPG button on the BT250/350 remotes. Guess it would explain why you see the EPG screen. Cheers1 point

What firmware does your box have now ? You should have the firmware version (V20250529) and Software version 5.0.9xx You can check from the main screen, by going to the settings ICON (top icon with gear logo), and then selecting updates. All firmware updates to the boxes is sent direct to your box from buzz. There is no need to download anything manually or sideloading. In theory if all goes well, there will probably be a new update tomorrow for the B5 and U5..1 point

Thanks for the info, Allaboutbuzz. I made the backup because of today's new update. Today's new update won't cause me to lose my server data or my favorites.1 point

Can we please have further details on this "update" release. The Classic Anniversary model still is in the dark for YouTube. What is bizzare is IF you were logged in as a Premium Paying YT Subscriber it still works fine on any device as far as back as Android Version 9 devices. But if you logout or update or do a factory format , it's a No Go According to a content creator advisor , Android devices must now be Google Certified or have a "duped" patch that Google sees/thinks the device is Google Certified. I'm not certain which method the Buzz Dev is going to use to remedy this, but for resellers of BuzzTv products we are catching a lot of heat , hate mail , texts , and demands for refunds. Can we get a date we can at least "push" on screen ourselves to our customers. Thank You.1 point

FireTV remotes are often hybrid remotes. They use IR for "some" functions, yet they use Bluetooth for other functions. Are you sure that the insignia remote is even outputting an IR signal for the function you want ? Trying using the camera of your cell phone pointed to the front of your FireTV remote and see if the LED blinks when you press the button you are trying to learn. Also doesn't help that insignia is known for not following standards or even even using a codes that they have not reserved. So not even sure if they are using standard frequency (38kHz). As a test, have you tried it with some other remote (another TV, or maybe a dvd/bd player) ? If programming does not work, another option for you would be to change your buzz box to disable "max volume" and that way the main volume buttons on the b350 would allow the buzz box to output a variable audio level. So you can then set your TV volume to something like 60% or 70%, and then the buzz box would output a variable level and when it is at max, it would represent the level you set on your TV.1 point

So far so good, no issues. Would love to see the server edit feature when using local IP method. I know, you can edit them if you modify the URL and you know the internal server ID, but having them listed so you can select them through a UI works very nicely. Thanks for all the continued support on all these boxes.1 point

I would not hold my breath on getting a 3rd party remote to work. Buzz will support all buzz products, not using 3rd party devices with it's boxes. I'm assuming you tried to pair the remote already ? Did you put the remote in pairing mode (for onn remote, I think you need to press and hold the home and back button for a few seconds to put remote in pairing mode), and then on your buzz box go into remote and accessories and try to pair a new remote. There is no magic above and beyond that. And even if it pairs, nothing says it will work, since the codes may all be different. I have had some limited success with the cheap "MX3 remotes" you can typically find on amazon. They use a USB receiver you plug into any box (so you need to have a USB port - so not for smaller sticks and boxes which don't have a USB port). They work for the most part, but some keys are mapped differently (like menu and back). And don't expect any of the colored keys to work. May as well get a new Buzz remote (either the same as you had), or one of their ARQ series remotes. The ARQ-2xx series looks pretty much like the generic "MX3 remotes" I mentioned above, except that they have been customized to have all buttons working on buzz boxes (like the colored buttons). If you can find one of the BT2xx series buzz remotes, for me those are my favorite (but that is subjective). Worst case, you can pair a PC USB keyboard/mouse and use that (or even use a USB wired set). Not the best option, but you could get it working for the most part.1 point
