    Turned off the TMDB in order to test.

    Using w*** server, XC API connection, VOD shows posters/thumbnails and titles, but no  movie summary/plot as expected.

    However Under TV Series, I see all the poster/thumbnails, and I still see the summary/plot for the series overall, but no detailed info for each episode (no thumbnail or summary for each individual episode).  Question is, is it normal that there is summary for the top level series entry ?  Is that included possibly from the server (like an epg) ?

     

    So we added this feature as some customers in Europe say TMDB was giving the wrong info and the servers they use gave the correct one instead.  Buzz 5 has the same feature.

    We have no control over what Metadata a server provides, is why we use TMDB instead as it fills in 90% of everything nicely and accurately 

     

    We recommend keeping TMDB turned on

    Some companies like Vizio and the Roku TVs do not pay for the IR Codes to be included on the manufacturing process of their TVs
    All to save about 30 cents per TV

    The Smart Remote only works via IR

     

    This sounds like that is the issue you're having

    Absolutely.  If no normalization is done at the server end, if can vary from channel to channel.

    One thing I have noticed but keep forgetting to mention is that "if" there is a Subtitle track included on the channel, on the L1 it is by default enabled.   So if you have a service that includes subs, you end up having to disable the subs on every single channel 🙂  Not sure if there are many people who want subs enabled by default.  

    On the P6, there seems to be an additional "auto" option for subs.  not sure on the logic behind that option (which is the default) and have not had a chance to test with some of those streams, since many are in that playlist I had sent you a while back.  And The P6 seems to detect way more sub streams than the L1 does.

    We are still waiting for help from Rockchip to add it

    On AmLogic we read from driver status resolution and framerate of the decoded content. On rockchip we dont have access to this, its not exported from the driver through sysfs. We tried to enable it but it is disabled in some prebuilt library. So we asked Rockchip if there is another way to read this info or get the decoder library that exports the info.

    This is a requirement in order for the AFR Feature to work.

    Issue:-

    Intermittently Buzz box hangs. I am unable to scroll through live TV channels.  and also starting a VOD movie does nothing.

     

    Workaround:-

    RESTART buzz box.  Sometimes this work with one restart. Sometimes it does with more than one.  This is very frustrating as typically we only use the Buzz box few hours in the evening. This has becomes an issue almost every evening now.

     

    Items Tried :-

    As mentioned a restart helps sometimes.  But not sure why I need to do this daily?

    Cleared cache as recommended in earlier forums. But this did not help.

    Once we get it to work - it works seamlessly.  The issue is always when we begin watching each evening.

     

    Thoughts and if this a known issue with any fixes?

    Have you checked your remote to make sure its working properly and has new batteries?

    As it could be a remote issue

    We will add an ON/OFF switch to the Configuration menu that will allow up to 200% Volume adjustment

    We should be able to add this within a few weeks in an Update.

    We will test it first though, as I think VLC for example, only allows up to 125 or 150 because beyond that creates audio distortion

    Sorry if you disagree. The unit is coming along: and its a fantastic concept for just doing Live TV streaming ONLY,but I couldn't sell it to any customers with the way it is NOW.

    Good Luck with your beta testing if this unit going forward.

    VOD playback was stuck a few times 

    Reboot solved this.

    Volume level slider would be nice.Volume is very poor.. Compared to HD5 unit...or even an Android9 custom box, or ONNTv box, or Nvidia Shield.

    Have i turn up volume on Sonos Arc soundbar significantly to hear things

    That's my report 

    You can adjust volume already
