I did try a new server entry and that didn’t work. Rebooted the box multiple times. Haven’t cleared data yet. Always worried about losing my favourites as it takes me forever to reload

you can make a backup of your favorites and restore. so go to buzztv app and make a backup in external drive. then clear data and go to server settings and restore without adding additional server and thats it.

  2. some time reboot after the update helps a lot. try to reboot if you have not. also, like Emporium said above add server entry just to before that try to clear data in buzztv app from settings and then try to add server and see if that helps.

OK so then if this is not the issue, the complaint is constant freezing from the server, that I and others do not esperance (same server). So my solution is to just reset the box every once and a while.

Should I be recommending clearing some cache memory somewhere and if so where.

as far freezing could be isp or network related. I have heard some people same isp with different equipment (router) from same isp being throttled. so allowing url in security or disabling it helps as well as using different DNS (google or open dns..etc) in the box also helps.

  4. Alright, after I left, I continued testing to figure out why it was stuck on the blue screen. After a few tries, it stopped launching the page altogether. Then, after a few hours, it did launch with the blue screen again, but most of the time it wouldn’t. So, I tried doing a factory reset from the settings, but even after that, the issue stayed the same. At this point, I decided to do a hard reset. When I opened up the back cover, I realized that a few weeks ago I had installed a 256GB NVRAM which had been working fine until now. I stopped the reset process and powered on the box again. When I checked storage settings, under removable storage it oddly showed my device as safely ejected even though it was properly connected. I tried recording but my drive wasn’t detected. So, I shut down the device again, removed the NVRAM, powered it back on, and now everything works perfectly. I can launch the update page without any issues. It’s really strange that the NVRAM caused this problem and somehow got ejected on its own. By the way, I never reinserted the NVRAM because I need to return it to my friend. But anyway, everything is back to normal now. Thanks! 🙂

That aspect works fine for me.

Only issue I have, which I already reported to aab, is:

While watching a channel, Press "OK" to bring up channel list. Then LEFT on DPAD to bring up categories side panel.
If you scroll down to the server name (in my case "w*****" for example) which also has a small down arrow to the right indicating that it's categories are expanded below, and you press "OK" on the server name to technically "rollup" the categories from that server, the left side panel all goes GRAY.

Not sure if it was there prior to .281 (didn't really test that), but I just noticed it a few days ago.

Does not seem to affect everyone however.  But DU has also reproduced it, but others have not.

    not aspect related issue

  6. do have anything (external devices) else attached to the box? if yes then disconnect and try again.

if no then disconnect everything including HDMI and try to turn ON and see what happens.

also, try a different power outlet in the house if possible.

any light indicating that its receiving power?

more info is always helpful and always provide anything you have done to troubleshoot.

I'm actually thinking more of an IR code conflict 🙂   Funny enough, my mom has one of those electric fireplaces, and every time she she turns on her Haier TV, it triggers the fireplace also.

Also, I know some offbrand TVs, especially Vizio have IR codes that conflict with Buzz boxes (example: the "mute" key on the Vizio remote send a "9" to the buzz box which changes channels.

Maybe as a test, since your remote is probably already paired with BT, try covering the front of the box, or at least the area between the Power button and the USB-C port (if I recall the IR receiver is located just behind that little section).  Either tape a small piece of paper/cardboard in front of it, or a piece of electric tape over that region.  This is just a test to see if it is some external IR signal triggering it to power on.

Obviously I am assuming the obvious, that you do NOT have any recuring scheduled recordings ?

I have attempted nearly every solution until it became quite frustrating. The primary reason this issue has caused me concern is that the P6 is my favorite device, and I am highly attached to it, unwilling to risk any damage to it. To troubleshoot, I followed your recommendations and determined that IR interference was not the cause in my case. Consequently, I considered the possibility of interference from other devices within my home. I turned off all devices except for the P6, which did not wake up on its own. Over several days, I powered ON one device at a time until my X5 SS was turned ON, at which point the issue recurred. Subsequently, I reversed the process by turning off all devices again; after a few days without incident, I powered on the X5 SS first, and the problem reappeared. This leads me to conclude that the issue is due to interference rather than a malfunction of my device, which is a significant relief. 😉

    Hello Emporium,

Thank you for the response. Yes, I purchased brand new HDMI cable in December 2025. I have turned off the CEC on both the Television and the P6. Last night I was watching a program on my cable provider's box, and the P6 just randomly turned on while the remote was nowhere near me. I have tried it with both our LG and Sony TVs, and the same issue occurs. Turn it off, and sometimes it just turns back on again immediately. In other instances, we are not even using P6, yet the green light still illuminates. It's been a problem since day one with my P6. It's very bizarre.

    Thanks in advance!

looks like bluetooth interference. do you have any other buzz box in your house? if not check any other bluetooth device and try to turn off and see what happens. my x5 SS wakes my p6 on like yours. 🙂

Sorry I just found it but no change still with the same problem 😔

I would say contact buzz support team and you may have to send them to take a look.
