  1. No.. should take less than 5 seconds..
  2. He's also not on latest firmware (unless it was different version dependant on 4500 variant). To backup, From buzzTV, hit menu, settings, configure, and if you scroll down you should have the backup&restore option. Make sure to backup to USB (not local). Your USB stick should have a "zip" file on it, if you backed up to usb. And keep in mind, you will need to reinstall and 3rd party apps.
  3. May be time to Backup your BuzzTV 5 settings and then do a hard factory reset (pin method). I use my 4500 in the basement all the time, and don't have any such issues. Actually it is one of the boxes I rarely turn off. It is set to exit LiveTV after 2 hrs of inactivity, and it is always powered up. Not abnormal to go a month, or more, without ever powering it off. My 4500 is a V20220919, and at 5.0.946 . Not sure why your box has not updated. I'd start with a hard factory reset.
  4. You don't need to activate developer options. If you are downloading the APK, and using a file manager to browse and install from a USB key, then you need to make sure that the file manager has permissions to "install apps from unknown sources". It will typically prompt you to go into the settings when you try, then you scroll down to find the file manager app, and give it permission. IF the APK has option for arm7 or arm8 versions, choose arm7. The arm8 ones are for 64bit kernels, the B5 uses arm7 (32 bit). But, not every app will have separate versions of apps for Android and AndroidTV. Some are integrated and will "try" to auto detect and switch mode. But keep in mind that it is NOT always possible to override any restrictions since it is often more than just OS type.. I know netf1ix is a lost cause for that. You are stuck with pointer, no matter what you do.
  5. There are some apps which would work a lot better if you sideload the AndroidTV versions (example windscribe VPN client - night and day between the generic Android and AndroidTV clients). BUT, some apps (example netflix), will NOT work any better as AndroidTV app with full remote or even available resolutions, unless they are on a box that THEY have approved (including other technical issues like licensing, etc..). And you mentioned about browser. Keep in mind that Android TV devices do not come with a pre-installed web browser app typically. You can download apps, but you will need to get something that is designed for TV use (maybe something like Puffin TV Browser - optimized for use with a remote). I rarely browse on my boxes so can't recommend anything. Unfortunately, many people I know will keep a buzz box for iptv use, and then if they use a lot of other apps (like netflix, disney, hulu, etc..), they often have a tiny fire*** device, which is an approved device for many of them. Also, keep in mind that the B5 is the super entry level device, so it won't be any speed demon for 3rd party apps. At least with device that come with a BT250 remote (like the buzz Classic), the remote is also an air mouse (and uses BT) , which makes using the cursor a "little" less cumbersome, but still far from ideal with the apps that refuse to be TV optimized.

Seriously.. If your provider gave you that advise, then they are too ignorant and time to change. I only use the integrated app, and it works better than any of the other crappy apps out there, and the UI blows most of them away. I don't have any freezing. What box model are you using and what firmware/software versions ? You connected via WiFi or hardwired via ethernet ? BuzzTV 5 has been rock solid.
  7. What firmware and software version are you using ? Just as a test, have you tried swapping plyers to see if it is any better with the other player ? From Menu->settings->configuration you should have a LiveTV setting on the top. Which one is selected, and then try the other one.
  8. I have 4 different boxes on an 4x2 4K HDMI matrix (but only using a single output, so essentially using it as a 4way HDMI switcher), and a small soundbar. All my boxes are pretty much similar volume level ranges. I don't see any discernable difference in volumes ranges between the L1, P6, Classic or X5SS (which are the boxes connected to the switcher).
  9. Yes. I have not setup vpn auto-connect on the P6 yet.
  10. Took update without issue, and even tested teamviewer and it works like a charm. Remote controlled my P6 from my laptop
  11. I've also use HB Player with great results.
  12. Hmm.. I got 130, but still on 20250317 also. Waiting for the new F/W. But in the meantime, 130 with 20250317 is unstable for me. Catchup starts and plays.. but can't navigate. And 3 times so far, I lost Video after exiting back to LiveTV and after first channel change. I still have audio, but no video. No video in full screen, not in channel list view, and not on home screen, not matter what channel changes. Only way to recover is a reboot. Have reproduced it 3 times so far. Will wait for new firmware for additional testing. Maybe it doesn't like the mismatch. Oh wow... now I have 3 instances going at the same time, sounds like triple echo
  13. For me, ONLY if the "All Channels" is highlighted. If you press "DPAD UP" or "DPAD DOWN" first for example, the highlight disappears and then the blue button does nothing. Only when the "All Channel" is highlighted does the blue button bring back the select column
  14. Exactly. And if you try using the DPAD to scroll up/down, the section cursor actually cycles between top (all channels) and last category (which is not visible - unless you only have 7 to 8 categories max). If while you are pressing up/down, you get to a state that no category is highlighted, even if you press the blue button again, it will not bring back the select column. And pressing the "back" button doesn't exit the "organize catetgory" popup. Just a UI glitch, which can be avoided by simply ignoring the blue key input unless at least one category is "selected". Like I said, not a show stopper by any means. Just pointing it out
  15. Just a small bug which has been there for a while (same as on P6). When you are in categories and go to "organize categories", if you do not select a category, the "blue" move button should technically not really do anything. Now if you hit it (without having selected a category") it goes into some strange mode and you can't see any cursor. No show stopper, but just saying.
  16. When you are in categories and go to "organize categories", it would be nice to use the CH+/CH- buttons to scroll through the categories quicker (like you can in Channel list and EPG view)
  17. This is a WISHLIST after all. Does not mean they are wishes that will be granted
  18. I understood that they wanted to see this info from the VOD/TV Series selection screen before they watch it. When watching, then obviously it is available I may have misunderstood.
  19. I do not have an ARQ100, all i have is an ARQ200 and even though I have not tested it with the B5 (and at the moment I can't since I've given it to my mom for her trip down south), I have tested it with the E5 and had no problems. When you say you "paired" it to the USB dongle, what do you mean ? There is no pairing required. You just plug the USB dongle into your B5 and it should automatically work. The only thing if I recall, is that to power ON the device, it still uses IR. But otherwise the rest should be via RF between the remote and the USB dongle plugged into the box. If I knew you'd order from amazon, I would have gladly checked what was available. The BT200 is not available on amazon (only from byzztv global online site), but you could have gotten the next best one, which is the BT250. Below is a link to the BT250, it is the BuzzTV BT250 remote just with the SARO logo. But it is identical. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CYYGQ53B
  20. That info is NOT in the movie list provided by the service as far as I know. So short of downloading/playing part of EVERY single VOD, that would not be possible I'm sure. Even the movie info/summary is pulled from tmdb/imdb, depending on the movie titles. So no real way of knowing what version/resolution/quality the file being served by a service is.
  21. From the buzztv app (either in liveTV or even in VOD or TV Series), follow the instruction from nbs.. Hit the menu button, then go to settings, and configuration.. On the top you have options for LiveTV player, and VOD/TVSeries player. For VOD/TV Series player, go there and change the option.. You should have Primary, backup and external. Try them and see if other options work better.
  22. My mom has a B5 also, and no freezing either.
  23. Awesome.. So much information, we can now reproduce it and correct it. NOT!!! And completely unrelated to original thread.
  24. It would probably work. But if I were to purchase a new remote, I would probably get the BT200. Slightly cheaper, but also one of the best remotes Buzz has ever made in my opinion. https://buzztvglobal.com/en-ca/collections/remotes/products/buzztv-bt-200-factory-replacement-remote-control or the BT250 Not sure the B5 has the remote app to be able to control the features like backlight and stuff on the BT400. On the BT200 you don't need an app for that stuff.
  25. As you answered earlier, you are on 5.0.946 which is essentially this latest update you asked about, so you are up to date as DU already mentioned. So considering you don't seem to know much about the subscriptions on your box, I assume someone sold you this box with subscriptions already installed. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Buzz does NOT sell IPTV subscriptions. Their boxes are just the hardware and software needed to use IPTV, but you typically need to buy a subscription separately. So the quality of the programming is dependant on the iptv service/subscription that you have "purchased". When you say favorties, are you referring to favorite channels for LiveTV, or are you referring to favorties under VOD/TV Series section ? Under LiveTV, when you go through the channels, when you find one that you like, you can hit the yellow button, and it adds it to your favorites (the button function is often listed at the bottom of the OSD). Then everything you have tagged will show up under the "Favorites" category, so you don't need to go through thousands of channels all the time. Similar principal exists for VOD and TV Series. Anyhow, like I said before, if you need more help with the B5, feel free top start a new thread under the B5 section and you can ask the questions you want.
