  1. Going to need more info. Is this using the BuzzTV LiveTV app, VOD, recorded/downloaded media ? Some other 3rd party app. We don't even know what Buzz box you are using.
  2. Just making sure you checked that there was no MicroSD installed in the box ? I know it was old, but it was worth a shot. Even if it had managed to "downgrade" you could have then updated back to buzztv5 (even if you had to ask them to push the latest update to the box [assuming they even still have it]). Box is quite old, so I would not expect miracles. I have a few different boxes from different vendors and many are now dead. Got nothing to lose to email customer support and see if there is any options. But obviously with the holidays upon us, don't expect any super quick reply.
  3. And you are sure you removed all external storage ? No USB, and no MicroSD card installed ? Sound like some serious corruption if it always jumps to the recovery screen. I'd say to try to contact cs @ buzztv.com first and see if they have any recommendations. If all else fails, you have nothing to lose to try using the update that is presently in the downloads section maybe. Maybe it repairs the file that has gotten corrupt. https://stbtalk.com/files/file/6-e2-series-update/
  4. Hence why it is always a good idea to use the backup feature that is within the BuzzTV app (menu->settings->configuration) and select backup/restore. Save it to a USB stick (file it generates is tiny, so perfect reuse of those tony old USB sticks). I have some tiny 128MB sticks lying around from ages ago from some promo item thingy, and that is what I use to back all my units up. If you accidently delete data or need to do a factory reset due to a bad update or something, you always have your server info on the USB stick, including all you favorites saved for a quick restore. Back up and running in a few short minutes.
  5. Not enough room ? Has he checked under settings and storage to see if it it really nearly out of storage ? Do they use the internal storage for recording or downloading media ? If so, maybe delete a recording or 2 ?
  6. No, the BT400 only pairs to some limited brands of TVs only. And there is no IR learning keys either. The BT/IR200 series of remotes, does not pair with other devices, but they have 4 keys which can "learn" IR codes from other IR remotes. The IR/BT100 remotes have 2 keys which can "learn" IR codes from other IR remotes. What I typically do in cases like this is set my receiver (and I have an old Yamaha myself), to about the 60% position (which would represent the max volume I would ever use), and then disable the "force max volume" option, so that way the volume buttons on the BT400 remote actually control a variable volume level from the box itself. So when the box says 10%, 50%, etc.. of volume, that represents a proportion of the max level you have already dialed in on your receiver. I know it may not sound convenient, but at least this way, you only need to set a volume once on your receiver, and then the rest of the time, you can control the volume from your Buzz box remote. PS: If you have already tried to pair/program the BT400 remote, you may need to just do a factory reset on the remote. If you wish to factory reset your remote to erase all settings press and hold the D-Pad Down button and the 0 (Zero) button for 4 seconds until it blinks 3 times to indicate the remote is factory reset BT300/400 remote manual: https://buzztv.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/BT400-300_manual_MOBILE_v6_Compress.pdf

Also, if you have a VPN service available, try installing and using a decent VPN service. Sure it will bring the 900 speed down, but sometimes many ISPs have a tendency of throttling media streams to speeds just enough for HD or FHD.. Anything higher will struggle. Using HEVC/H.265 encoded streams for higher resolution streams, helps quite a bit if that is an option with your provider.
  8. Guess it was muscle memory. Where the back button is on the BT/IR 100/200 remotes, is now the GUIDE/EPG button on the BT250/350 remotes. Guess it would explain why you see the EPG screen. Cheers
  9. Please provide a little more context. First of all, always start with F/W and S/W versions of your box. You are in what screen when you press the "return" button ? Channel listing, EPG listing, settings menu, etc.. ? And you are talking about the "return" button, and not "last channel" button, correct ? Layout on remotes is slightly different, ensure you are pressing the correct button. Muscle memory can get you to press buttons, in the location you are used to pressing them on older boxes, but they may not correspond to the same function.
  10. What firmware does your box have now ? You should have the firmware version (V20250529) and Software version 5.0.9xx You can check from the main screen, by going to the settings ICON (top icon with gear logo), and then selecting updates. All firmware updates to the boxes is sent direct to your box from buzz. There is no need to download anything manually or sideloading. In theory if all goes well, there will probably be a new update tomorrow for the B5 and U5..
  11. FireTV remotes are often hybrid remotes. They use IR for "some" functions, yet they use Bluetooth for other functions. Are you sure that the insignia remote is even outputting an IR signal for the function you want ? Trying using the camera of your cell phone pointed to the front of your FireTV remote and see if the LED blinks when you press the button you are trying to learn. Also doesn't help that insignia is known for not following standards or even even using a codes that they have not reserved. So not even sure if they are using standard frequency (38kHz). As a test, have you tried it with some other remote (another TV, or maybe a dvd/bd player) ? If programming does not work, another option for you would be to change your buzz box to disable "max volume" and that way the main volume buttons on the b350 would allow the buzz box to output a variable audio level. So you can then set your TV volume to something like 60% or 70%, and then the buzz box would output a variable level and when it is at max, it would represent the level you set on your TV.
  12. It's shame. Some people prefer local options instead of being dependent on a server in the cloud. At least the local version is not dependent on buzz keeping that remote server spinning a few years down the line. Don't get me wrong, I like the UI on the remote server version, but at least the local one (even if you can only use it to add, and not edit) has no external dependencies.
  13. So far so good, no issues. Would love to see the server edit feature when using local IP method. I know, you can edit them if you modify the URL and you know the internal server ID, but having them listed so you can select them through a UI works very nicely. Thanks for all the continued support on all these boxes.

    TV age

Completely USELESS response. The original user did not ever come back to say what his issue was. When the original post says "some programs sound very loud, some soft, others no sound", that has nothing to do with any setting the buzz box can change. That has to do with the server itself and lack of any volume normalization over the various channel encoding. Regurgitating AI generated irrelevant replies has no value and will just confuse people looking for real answers.
  15. There is already a thread for feature requests. You don't need to create a new one. It is the first Sticky on the Powerstation thread. https://stbtalk.com/topic/14151-buzztv6-application-wishlist-for-new-features-and-enhancements/

    BT-400

I only use my Buzz remote and it is not paired with anything other than my buzz box (and the BT200 has 4 IR learn keys). I pretty much use my buzz box exclusively for all my TV needs. So, I have my soundbar set to about midway. My TV is always switched to HDMI1. And my Buzz boxes are always set to variable volume output (ie: disable the MAX volume setting - so the box basically has it's own volume). If someone does not have a soundbar and uses TV speakers, then set the TV to 60 or 70% volume. Then on the Buzz remote (I use my BT2xx series (example: the BT200). The BT200 has the option to program/learn up to 4 buttons from other remotes. So on the TV power button on the remote, I have learned the power button of my TV remote. For the "input" button on the BT200 remote, I have programmed the IR button for the power of my soundbar Since it really can be anything. And the TV VOL+/- buttons (the learn buttons, not the main remote buttons), I have the soundbar volume IR buttons learned - which I rarely use, since I leave it at just over half way unless I really want to crank up the volume). So, unless I am using some other inputs on my TV (which is extremely rare), I typically just pick up my Buzz BT200 remote, hit the TV power button (which has learned to turn on the TV), hit the TV input button (which has learned the power button to the Sound bar), and finally I hit the main power button on the buzz remote to turn no my buzz box. From there I use the buzz remote for everything, and since the buzz box has max volume disabled, the main volume buttons on the remote control the volume on the buzz box. Sure the BT400 dies NOT have learn buttons. But, other than having to turn on your TV and possibly sound bar manually or with their respective remote you can do everything else with the BT400. Factory reset the remote, do NOT try to program it (leave it default so volume keys control the buzztv box volume), and go into settings and disable MAX volume. Very simple after that. Disabling max volume on the box, allows you to set your soundbar to whatever MAX volume you would ever typically use. Then controlling the box volume, the box will output a variable volume which will range from 0 to the max volume you already set your soundbar to. The onn remotes are SUPER simple, they are like mini google remotes with very minimal buttons, so I don't see how you expect to get better functionality from a minimalistic remote. To reset the BT400 just follow the instructions in the manual https://buzztv.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/BT400-300_manual_MOBILE_v6_Compress.pdf Essentially: If you wish to factory reset your remote to erase all settings press and hold the D-Pad Down button and the 0 (Zero) button for 4 seconds until it blinks 3 times to indicate the remote is factory reset

    BT-400

I would not hold my breath on getting a 3rd party remote to work. Buzz will support all buzz products, not using 3rd party devices with it's boxes. I'm assuming you tried to pair the remote already ? Did you put the remote in pairing mode (for onn remote, I think you need to press and hold the home and back button for a few seconds to put remote in pairing mode), and then on your buzz box go into remote and accessories and try to pair a new remote. There is no magic above and beyond that. And even if it pairs, nothing says it will work, since the codes may all be different. I have had some limited success with the cheap "MX3 remotes" you can typically find on amazon. They use a USB receiver you plug into any box (so you need to have a USB port - so not for smaller sticks and boxes which don't have a USB port). They work for the most part, but some keys are mapped differently (like menu and back). And don't expect any of the colored keys to work. May as well get a new Buzz remote (either the same as you had), or one of their ARQ series remotes. The ARQ-2xx series looks pretty much like the generic "MX3 remotes" I mentioned above, except that they have been customized to have all buttons working on buzz boxes (like the colored buttons). If you can find one of the BT2xx series buzz remotes, for me those are my favorite (but that is subjective). Worst case, you can pair a PC USB keyboard/mouse and use that (or even use a USB wired set). Not the best option, but you could get it working for the most part.
  18. As nbs mentioned above, your best option is to try to sideload them. Directly loading them from google play store can be a pain in the @#$!. Keep the following in mind: But even if you side load them, there is no guarantee that they don't have their own internal restrictions. At a minimum you would probably need a VPN if they have restrictions.
  19. What type of sub: MAC, XC, M3U ? You double checked all spelling, caps/lowercase, and no extra spaces ? And you are sure it has not expired ? When you are in the server screen, you will see a URL on the top right (http://192.x.x.x:8090). If you go to a PC, and type that URL in (assuming you are not connected to VPN), you will be able to create a server entry using your PC or phone. That way you can cut&paste the URL/username/password to ensure no typos or extra spaces.
  20. What versions to you have installed now ? First of all you don't sideload the Buzz F/W or S/W. They are send via OTA only (with few exceptions if customer services sees a need for small stuff and most of those are already in the downloads section of this forum). And if you try to sideload any Buzz F/W or S/W, you do so at your own risk. Also, where did you get those versions from ? The xrs4900 latest FW is V20220923 if I recall, and the latest S/W is 5.0.953 (which is the one listed here). Keep in mind, the xrs4900 is a pretty old series 4 box (which is still a great box - I have 2 of them), so don't expect too many F/W updates at this stage. It will see it's share of BuzzTV 5 SW updates however. If your box is not at that FW or Software after 48 hours of being poowered up, you can email cs@buzztv.com and give them the MAC address of your box, and your current versions and they can push updates to your box.
  21. The app is integrated into the box. It consists of the LiveTV, VOD and TV Series app which you are now using. When in live TV, you should be able to press the menu button, and on the bottom left you will see the version of BuzzTV that you are running, it should say something like 5.0.xxx)
  22. If you have a portal and separate name and password, then it is an XC (Xtreme) portal. Don't use the M3U, use the XC API login.. You have 4 items to enter (a name - which can be anything, your username, the password and the URL) exactly as they sent you. Username and password are case sensitive. For M3U it would b e a long url which would have included your username and password in the url. This is not what they gave you. Use XC Api login.
  23. The BuzzTV app is already preloaded on all buzz devices (including the classic). For pure IPTV, you do not need to download any additional apps. If you have not defined anything yet, as soon as you click on LiveTV, it should bring up the server screen (if something was defined, you will go straight into live TV, where you can then press the menu button on your remote, select settings->server setting - OR on the remote you should have a "servers" button which will take you straight to that screen). From there you can choose MAC, XC or M3U playlist type server. You choose the ones you want, then click on add new, and enter the info your provider gives you. If they gave you a portal URL, username and password, then odds are that it is an XC type. If they gave you 1 or 2 separate links (playlist and/or epg) then you'd need to enter in in M3U.
  24. You will not see backups for 3rd party apps. That is the responsibility of the 3rd party apps themselves to allow you to export their settings for future import. Buzz already has a backup feature for their BuzzTV app itself, which includes server settings, app settings, favorites, etc... Even on an android phone, it is the app's responsibility to backup it's settings to the cloud. Sure the phone backup remembers what apps were installed and will reinstall upon reset, but unless the app saved it's settings in the cloud somehow, you will have to reconfigure it after it is reinstalled. Hell I remember when google authenticator did not even backup it's entries (or allow you to export) and I lost everything after a reset. That was a pain. I switch to MS authenticator after that, and shortly after, google added cloud sync for their authenticator, but I never bothered going back. Installing the "basic" apps is not a huge effort (I personally keep all the apk for all the apps I use on a share on my NAS (and on a USB stick), and it takes no time to install them if I need to do a reset. Now, if you have something like kodi or streamio installed with piles of plugins, scripts and custom settings, then that is all on those apps to offer a simple way to take a snapshot of the config for easy restore. Buzz boxes are not rooted or bootloader unlocked, so bootloader type backups are probably never going to be an option. Actually Buzz did have a full flash backup ages ago (I think on the old 3000 series), but that turned out to be a nightmare for most average users so it was replaced with the app backup going forward, which seems to suit "most" users just fine.
  25. That looks/sounds like an AI generated response adapted from some other firmware update procedure. I don't know about you, but did you try going to the downloads page ? There is nothing to download there, other than the buzztv logo. I tried with 3 different browsers.
