OK, we will, thank you. What's the difference between xtreme or m3u?

In the meantime, we found a crappy work-around. In configuration we set "Real Time Streaming" and "Tunneled playback" both to "on". Now if the show freezes, then the screen goes black, BUT the show recovers a second later. Unfortunately this is happening fairly often, every few minutes or so. We will speak to our seller about switching codes.

I would be looking for a better service

Are you using a MAC based subscription ?  If so, odds are that your sub is for single connection/stream at a time (that is why you don't see the number of connections.

Multiconnection subs typically use XC type connections.

BTW: For the panel reference, that is not something you would be able to access.  It is a reseller's web site where you can create new subscriptions.  And in some panels you can see the connections that each client is using at any one time.  And since I have my own panel for the service I use, I can check the number streams I am using.

    no odds needed

    mac is only 1 connection

RE: "Does you IPTV service allow for more than one connection ?" - I don't know. And I don't know how to find that out.

RE: "I have verified on one of my services, with my panel" - I don't know what this means. What is "the panel", and how do I access it?

RE: "So if your provider only allows for a single stream, it would explain why it goes black." - To be clear, it goes black (or freezes) about an hour into the recording (and not at the start).

    live tv/menu/settings/account info

We had what sounded like a similar issue. For us, ALL streams would play for about 5 seconds, then the video would freeze for a fraction of a second and you would also hear an audio glitch (a "pop) and then the video would resume for about 5 seconds and then would glitch again. We were able to fix this. For the Buzz app, I forced-stop. Then cleared cache. Then cleared data. This fixed the issue I described. PLEASE NOTE, that these instructions will also wipe out all saved info like server info, favourites, settings, etc.

    just back those up first

When you turn off your box on some systems the system will drop recognition of the device and when you turn it back on it will give you the message about portal not recognized.

With some VPN services advanced tracking settings can prevent you from receiving the required packets to connect you to the portal you request.

I have a vpn that takes me a while to reconnect when I restart the box with the BUZZ TV enabled so it is easier for me to go to an app with less secure requirements and open the connection and then as soon as it comes up just go back to the BUZZ TV app and it will connect load everything an run like a top it could be a problem with your settings like my extreme settings on the vpn and the isp server you have.

There were some changes in some geographical areas recently that made his problem worse.

that's because if you use boot up to live tv it loads before the vpn connects

How big was the recording ?   Keep in mind that if you formatted your media on the box, or even possibly on a PC, by default it will format using FAT32.

I strongly recommend formatting the USB key on a PC, and forcing the format to exFAT format.   FAT32 has a single file size limitation of 4GB.  Anything larger will get truncated.  exFAT limitations are a lot higher, and obviously preferred.  Don't think that is the case here, since 4GB for 30 minutes would be a really HUGE bitrate, but just saying.

Also, just as a test, try starting the recording at a 15 minutes mark (not 00 or 30).  Reason I ask is because I used to have a service (don't recall which one) who for some bizarre reason the streams would change every 30 minutes (on the half hour 00 and 30), which means the recordings would never be more than 30 minutes.

I assume what you tested was a manually scheduled recording ?   Did you try with EPG ?  Just curious.

    they're recording internally

the box comes with 64gb of storage and they have 48gb available
