There are literally hundreds of services out there and yes there are issues with some Users have posted these issues and contacted buzz with their issue and buzz have resolved it Thats the mature way to do things

if the power option is set to standby it will be in standby no matter which remote you use

usually a refresh will fix the sync if its not a server issue

you can leave it on the home page I think it works on standby not 100% sure though In a future update you will be able to power it off
