  1. I you referring to after a power on, or after entering LiveTV ? After a Power ON, by default it goes to the Main menu. If it is starting LiveTV automatically, the from the LiveTV, press menu, settings, configuration, and then near the buttom you have an option to "Start Live TV on", you can turn it off. That way when it powers on, it will stay in the main menu. Now, if you start LiveTV, by default it will connect to the last server you were connected to, and to the last channel as far as I know. Pretty sure this is default bahaviour and has been as far back as I can remember. What you can do, is from Buzz Utilities, you can go into the Remote Control app, and configure one of the colored buttons as a shortcut, to launch the "server Settings" option, which would than NOT launch any specific service and you would need to go through and select a service to connect to. That way, when you boot the device and you are in the home screen, you can just press the colored button to launch the Server Settings and select what you want.
  2. We may never know. According to his profile, he last visited October 12
  3. Thanks, Funny, i have this feature already off right now and still getting the freezing. Thinking about to activate it and use external (microSD) card to use as buffer. How's everyones experience with this and any tips or tricks ? In terms of speed, and longevity, you are probably better off with a decent USB3 key instead (I would not recommend MicroSD). You need to be able to get some decent read/write speeds if you intend to use TS. Keep in mind that it is constantly writing/recording everything you are watching. And make sure you use the USB3 port on the box, not the USB2 port. I don't use TS, but I do have my buffer (which is a separate thing) set to 6 seconds, in order to be able to tolerate a few hiccups which could be due to my network (when kids are trying to download the latest update to their steam game at full speed). But keep in mind that no matter what buffers you set up, if the stream issues are from the server, no buffer will be able to help.
  4. Instead of suspend, have you tried doing shutdowns instead ? Change your powerkey definition to shutdown instead of suspend ? Even many windows machines are braindead when coming out of a suspend mode. With the exception of my Surface Pro, I don't use suspend for any of my devices any more. They either stay on, or shutdown.
  5. An EPG url does not "magically" work There are tags in the M3U which match up with channel-id tags in the EPG xml to know what channel lines up with what part of the EPG. So if the tags from your specific provider do not match up with the tags in his EPG XML, then you will get nothing, even though your box has downloaded the whole EPG. I maintain my own M3U list for some international streams for family, and when I change EPG provider, I often have to go through my whole M3U file and change/associate the tags in the M3U with the corresponding channel-id in the EPG file. So you may have been lucky that your provider was using the same EPG source as acidjesuz at the time (so the tags matched). Your IPTV provider may now use a completely different provider and the tags may no longer match. You could download a copy of your M3U file from your provider and then download a copy of the EPG xml file and compare the tvg-id/tvg-name tags in your M3U file and search through your EPG file to see if they exist/have a corresponding match. Example: in the EPG file you posted above, SYFY channel uses a channel id of "I122.11097.schedulesdirect.org" in the EPG XML file. If your provider does NOT use that as the tvg-id/tvg-name for the SyFy channel in the M3U file, there will never be a direct match. And considering how specific that channel-id is (that it includes the epg source name) unless your IPTV provider uses the exact same source. I've seen other EPG sources use channel-id for this channel like just "syfy", "syfy.us" "us.syfy" "us-syfy" etc... You get the picture. So if M3U uses one name, and XML uses another, the box is just wasting time and bandwidth to download the XML file which it can never match any entries to anything. As soon as you use 2 different sources for M3U and EPG, you make many assumptions that they will have matching tags, and that those tags will not change internally. And since you do not "control" one or the other, it is hard to guarantee a match. Have you tried using your M3U/IPTV providers EPG to see if that works ? Odds are better that their EPG would have mostly matching tags with their M3U file PS: have you tried loading up something like Smarters IPTV app to see if that will work with your M3U/EPG combo ?
  6. Have you confirmed that the tvg-id/tvg-name tags used on your server M3U for each channel, match exactly as in the acidjesuz povided xml file ? If provider changed their EPG provider and then changed their ID tags at one point, this could have an impact that there would be no matching EPG tags.
  7. I've used M3U and EPG URL on many occasions and on 3 or 4 different servers (on many different boxes). Even have an M3U list that I maintain for some streams, and using a "public" EPG list, works quite well for the few channels I have tagged properly in my M3U to match the EPG list. So it does work. You sure your EPG URL is formatted correctly for your server ? example: http://yourserver.xyz/xmltv.php?username=XXXXX&password=XXXXXX&type=m3u_plus The only thing I don't know is if Buzz (on M3U) supports the embedded xml tags to define EPG sources using the #EXTM3U url-tvg="" or x-tvg-url="" tags. And if so, does it support only uncompressed xml files or does it also support xml.gz (gzipped) format versions ?
  8. What firmware are you on ? If you go to updates, what firmware is listed as being installed ?
  9. I have 10+ boxes over 4 services and they all work perfectly fine even with all the latest updates. You sure your sub has not expired ? Not issues with the server ? Using MAC, XC or M3U ?
  10. YEs.. My bad.. That is what I meant..
  11. First of all, what box are you using ? This honestly sounds like some sort of permission issue (like windows displaying on top of other app or something like that). Typically when you scroll over the Settings icon on the top you don't even need to click OK, it should automatically open a window to the right of it, and only then if you press OK would you go into settings. Otherwise you could scroll around in there and go to Server Settings, and other options. I would say try to switch theme to buzzTV modern 2, which you can then just scroll off to the right, and you would switch to settings screen, but if you can't get into settings, it would be hard to switch theme
  12. Same here. I have never had to set screen resolutions. Pretty sure the box gets the equivalent of an EDID from the screen/TV it is connected to, to know the capabilities. Unless you are using the old "A/V" port for basic composite video
  13. Posts are perfect here also. Nothing blank. Maybe it is a forum theme issue. If you go to the bottom of this page, there is a small dropdown for "theme". Many things are broken in anything by the "4.4 default" theme.
  14. You cannot revert once an update is installed. If you are having problem, have you tried a factory reset ? Maybe some other software you had installed is misbehaving ? I have 2 xrs4900 boxes and both work perfectly, even after the latest updates. If you can't to a factory reset through the settings menu, you can always to a hard reset. This video shows you how (it's for the 4500, but the 4900 is identical). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l1x3KJl_jE
  15. Click anywhere in the article except the blue button (like the title or the picture of the 4900), and it will take you to the article
  16. Both BT and IR don't work ? If you "point" the remote to the box, it still does not work ? Have you tried unplugging the box, and then re-plugging it back in to force a clean boot ? Sometimes the Bluetooth will do strange things after a major firmware update. What I do in those cases, is simply go into the settings for Remote and accessories, unpair the remote, and then re-pair it again. Takes a whole 2 minutes max.
  17. Some services allow you to only have 1 connection at a time. Others however allow 2 or more (some up to 5) simultaneously on the same account. If they don't specify, it is typically 1 connection. If they allow more than one connection at the same time, they typically advertise it, since it is a selling point. Others allow you to add as many connections as you want for a small additional fee per connection. If you are watching Live TV, just hit the Menu button, then go down to settings, and then select Account info. You will see how many "max" connections your service allows and how many are active. If you have a max of 1 connection, then you will only be able to record the channel you are watching. I don't understand what you mean by " I have set up two Mac servers for the same IPTV server". Your box only has a single SERVER ID (MAC) - unless you are using a 3rd party app (like STBEmu) which allows you to use whatever MAC you want - but that would defeat the purpose of a Buzz box
  18. BTW: It is no longer Beta. It has been out of beta for quite a while now. The update procedure installs beta first, but them updates to the latest (non-beta 5.0.779 right now). What remote are you using ? IR or BT ? If you are using a BT remote, have you tried just pointing the remote to the box and and using the IR only ?
  19. If update still doesn't work, you can update to V20220106 using this (instructions included): The after reboot, give it a few minutes and it will continue and take the latest firmware and latest BuzzTV 5.
  20. If you are a little tech savvy, check this out: If you don't, then contact Buzz directly and they will take care of you.
  21. I have not tried it on the X5, since I have it wired. But I was just speaking in general about some previous android boxes. I think it also depends a lot on your WiFi. Like I said, my old cheap router I had all sorts of strange issues. Switched to high end WiFi access points (Cisco Aironet 2800 series), and have not had issues with most of my equipment since then.
  22. Are you putting your x5 into suspend mode when you turn it off, or is it a full shutdown ? Mine are all hardwired, but I recall many android boxes over the years when I would use them with WiFi, I often had issues for them to reconnect, or would take forever to reconnect if coming out of a suspend mode (those that supported suspend). After I replaced my old router with new access points, the problem seemed to go away for the most part (but still happened on occasion). From then, what I would do, is ensure my box was set to do a full shutdown, so each time I powered it on, yes it took 30 seconds more to boot, but it was always a clean boot and never had those kind of issues when doing clean boot. Hell even some windows laptops are braindead when they come out of suspend mode.
  23. I don't use Wifi either. Mine are all hardwired. But I believe it is the same network chip internally that handles the WiFi and BT. I could be wrong, however
  24. I have 2x 4900 boxes. On my older box box, I "sometimes" (not too often) get a message that Bluetooth has stopped. I press the return key a few times, it goes away and everything works fine after that (including the Bluetooth - for the remote at least). On my other box (which is newer), I never get that message. I suspect that over the numerous updates (including Betas) something has gotten latched somewhere. I've been meaning to do a full reset on that box, but have not done so yet. Changing primary servers in a few weeks on that box, so I may use that as an opportunity to start clean. But it happens so rarely (and I know my box is overdue for a reset), that I have completely ignored it. One thing that did help however is to go into the Network settings and cycle the Wifi on, wait 5 seconds ,and then cycle it back on. When I do that, I go for weeks before seeing the message again.
  25. If you wish to factory reset your remote to erase all settings press and hold the D-Pad Down button and the 0 (Zero) button for 4 seconds until it blinks 3 times to indicate the remote is factory reset. https://buzztv.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/BT400-300_manual_WEB_v6_Compress.pdf
