  1. Good for you. I am also from Québec, and I speak 3 languages fluently. And you want to talk about arrogance (from your comments in the previous post), feel free to look in the mirror, since YOU were the arrogant one, making assumptions that it was the box that was at fault and no matter what anyone said (to try to help and guide you to the source of the issues you were experiencing), you would get upset and continued expecting a fix/patch for the box. Buzz is usually pretty quick in issuing fixes for minor issues that needs fixing. Hell, I've even gotten fixes pushed withing hours of reporting issues (and I'm sure many other here have also). If you know everything, then I don't see why you even bother asking questions, especially when you refuse to accept any guidance. We all have lives outside these forums (you are no exceptional god - sorry to burst your bubble). With at least 15 buzztv boxes in our possession and access to multiple services, many of us have seen and experienced a little more than the average iptv user. So when possible, we try to help people as much as possible. And if the issues are found to be legit buzz box hardware or software issues (which your issue was not), and we can reproduce them, they are put in the queue and depending on the criticality of the issues, they gets addressed by buzz in upcoming loads.

  2. first of all, CH 657 is specific to your service. Here we do not discuss specific services. Keeping it generic, If your EPG is off ONLY on this channel, then the issue is on your providers end. If the EPG is off by 1hr on ALL channels, then you can change the offset in the EPG offset section under menu->settings->configuration->EPG Time Offset. Normally Buzz devices will use the EPG time zone settings provided by the server, and local time zone to calculate the offset automatically (I never had to change it manually on buzztv 5). But you can override it as mentioned above. But this affects "ALL" channels. Single channel issues, you will need to contact your provider.

  3. Linux is quite powerful. Many devices are still based on Linux, including many devices from many manufacturers of well known STB. Nice think about Linux, is that you can have a very light installation which will allow you to run exactly what you want with minimal resources. Not forced to install everything, including the kitchen sink, just because someone says so. There have also been many distributions over the years designed for HTPC use all based on Linux, like OpenElec, LibreElec, CoreELEC, etc.. CoreELEC even has a version which will run on BuzzTV boxes. Let's not forget, that Android is just an operating system, that is based on a modified version of the Linux kernel. So it does share many things. For the L1 player that Buzz is releasing shortly, we do not have much info yet. I am hoping that it will be running some version of BuzzTV, but without any confirmations or details yet, i do not want to start any rumours. We will just have to wait an see what surprise they have in store for us. My understanding is that it is being targeted for the budget conscious consumer.

  4. First of all, this question has nothing to do with the 4900 As a matter of fact, the 4900 in my opinion has been one of the best boxes Buzz has ever released. It has stood the test of time, and even though I have piles of other newer buzz boxes, my 2x 4900 boxes are still my daily drivers on my 2 main TVs. There are literally 1000s of services. Mentioning every service out there is not an option and has nothing to do with the box. And peoples needs are different. I offers 3 different services to family and friends, and depending on their needs (locals, sports, international, vod, tv series, etc..), I will recommend a different service. And it goes without saying that there is NO service that is 100% flawless. IF people can't tolerate the occasional glitches, then they should at least have a second service as a backup. Or just go back to cable/sat or other services that actually offer an SLA, and cost 10 times more. There are many other forums that have discussions of many of the main services we typically use. Many of us on this forum are also present on those forums (often with similar handles). If people want to test some services, to see if other streams work better, there are plenty of free streams out there. People can use google and search for "github free-iptv" or even "plutotv channel m3u", and many others, and they can use those. Truth is, I know a few people who have more than they need, just by using some of these free lists. I often use these lists and create my own M3U for backup purposes for family and friends. You'd be surprised how many decent channels out there are available via free streaming links. So to get back to your question, we need to respect the policies laid out by BuzzTV for this forum and concentrate on actual h/w or s/w issues that are at the heart of these boxes. BuzzTV does not condone or recommend any the use of any specific service (legal or otherwise).

  5. Wow you guys are creaving hahaha its been fixed 30h ago and since I did not post anything since, I am a bad person. Get a life seriously. Vous faites pitié. Yes problem has been fixed but been busy with my child in the last couple of days so didn't have the time to come post. But since all this pressure, here it is. Happy now? Go get a life outside this forum jerk head. And stop being so arrogant with people online, I'm sure you'd piss in your pants seeing me in real life so give it a break with your little subtitle/not subtitle comments.

  8. So buzz would have to program in every external player and change their software every time they update their player. Why not ask the player guys to change their software?

  9. Now you know what I asked if youtube was working Do yourself a favor. Change the "powerkey definition" to shutdown, instead of "suspend" (if I recall, from home screen, go to settings->more settings->powerkey definition). Yes it takes an extra minute to power up, but at least it is a clean boot all the time. not just waking up from a suspended state.

  10. Pretty sure it does NOT auto reboot. It comes back to the menu after it erases and formats the various partitions. You need to select the reboot option. So before selecting reboot, I just wipe the param partition before rebooting. But like I said, I am pretty sure that is already part of the "Factory reset". It is just a habit from an old box that would not do it on an older version of android.

  12. The more i learn all the features and get used to my U5, the more i love it. This is a terrific Streaming box. Even after i buy your newest tech, i will keep the U5 as my standby. At first it was nothing but headaches because i'm a tech idiot. But once i figured out what the hell i was doing, i fell in love with the box. I have forgotten my XRS4500 and my Firestick4k.

  13. I've found from suspend if the widget doesn't receive an API request update the weather will display the last info it received. If I shut down or restart the box the caches will clear and you will get the "weather not available" message. If you change to one of the other Home Screens a message will pop up "too many request", so it's appears there are too many API calls and it's getting locked out from the suppliers servers until it resets. I've left this with allaboutbuzz and CS to sort out. Thanks for your help and feedback.

  15. Didn't know where to post! I have both the 4900 & 4000, both are excellent boxes. I have advised others, to purchase Buzz boxes, because of their reliability and ease of use, with the built in app. I do respect the terms and conditions of this forum, and read the posts often. Thanks Emporium

  21. OK, I'm gonna let it go while I make dinner and then eat said dinner. Which will probably be 45 minutes and see what's up. They offered to have me ship it back, so I have that option if this doesn't work.

  26. This has nothing to do with BuzzTV 5 app. This is box specific. You should post under the thread for the specific box you have. And provide some details on what specific hardware you have. I have had some bad experience with LG monitors/TVs not liking the sync sometimes (on 1 TV and on an LG computer monitor). Same device on a samsung or even a dell monitor, worked perfectly fine. Just saying.

  27. I always stay on top of it to keep eye on it to see whats happening the time of update/installation. so when nothing happens for sometime I keep work on my pc/phone patiently until picture comes on. so keep something to keep you distracted during installation process.

  39. The box does NOT include any IPTV subscription. This is where you enter the login information for the service you purchase. You need to buy a subscription, and when you do, they typically offer MAC type connection, XC or M3U. My preference is XC, but that is personal preference. Discussion about IPTV services is NOT permitted in this forum (you will need to find another forum). Only discussion about the BuzzTV 5 software or the Hardware (in the appropriate sections).

  43. OK. I've been playing with it for a while now. With TS, it is not as simple to reproduce. I managed to reproduce the issue twice. With HLS, it seems a lot easier. What I noticed (had panel open and watching the connections from my account): When using TS, 95% of the time, when I switch from one channel to another, the previous channel I was watching goes "red" pretty instantaneous. So when I launch a recording, I guess it sees that there is only 1 of 2 connections active, and spawns a second stream and all works as expected and I can change channels no problem. the 2 times I managed to reproduce it, I was showing 2 TS active streams for a few seconds and triggering the recording during this condition, will yield same result as HLS does. When using HLS, the previous channel does NOT change to red instantaneously. I was using TSN for my tests. tune to TSN1 and watch for 2 minutes, then very quickly press CH+ 2 or 3 times to switch to TSN4. Guess what, for nearly 30 seconds (sometimes longer), my panel shows both TSN1 and TSN4 as green. As if both streams are still going. If I start a recording now, it starts, but not spawning another stream (guess since it thinks there are already 2 active streams). So it records current stream, but if I try to change channel, it will not allow me. So don't know if this is box side issue with HLS streams and possible handshaking (if there is any), or panel issue taking a while to recognize hls stream has stopped. Also noticed that when using HLS, if I have single connection active and manage to do a "normal" recording which spawns another stream, it shows fine as 2 connection on panel. But when I cancel/stop the recording, the stream takes close to a minute to close (go idle). I suspect panel. Because even though the spawned stream takes 30s to a minute to go idle, the "time online" column does not increment, like the active stream is. Anyhow, the HLS observations were done many times, and I can 100% reproduce it at will. If you want me to try anything else, I can do so gladly. BTW: Tests were done on my X5 128 AI, running 5.0.927 (But I am pretty sure results would be the same on my other boxes not on beta). This is nothing new, I just never had time to investigate why. I also prefer HLS, since I live off the catchup for most of my evening watching
