I have a dozen B5 boxes.  Had to do factory reset on two of them.  One worked fine , but can't use utube says box is not compatible, otherbox can't load portal(box is no longer useable)  Any ideas?

Yes I operate from a reseller panel.  He's ben very helpful.  Set me up with new server.  That wouldn't work either.  I put that server on another B5 and it loaded  and connected great.  Going to try clear cache.

When you say you had to factory reset the boxes, was it a software reset, or hardware reset (pin in A/V hole method) ?

Maybe try a hardware reset.

Different box model, same procedure however.

The youtube not being compatible is just google trying to be a pain in the @$%@.  They are adding checks to annoy non-approved google boxes.

Many of the buzz boxes (E5, X5, Classic, U5)  got updates last month and part of those updates was to fix the youtube issue some are having.  I'm sure after the holidays are done and things get back to normal, Buzz will continue those updates if needed.

ces is next week 😉

Completely forgot about that.

Damn, I feel old.  The last time I was at CES was in Chicago in the summer of 1991 🙂  What an experience.  And the Penthouse pets walking around the floor was nice too 😜

Bought 3 new B5's.  Tried one and right away Utube not compatible with this box.  I am running x5 boxes.  No problem with them.  I will try hardware reset on the problem B5(one that couldn't load portal)

Make VERY VERY sure you have the portal typed in perfectly!  MANY MANY times when I typed the portal in I missed a letter, or had a space where there should not be a space, or something simple like that.

This is the number one reason.

Hence why I always add my portals by using the web interface, and in that way, I can just use cut&paste from the email I got, so guaranteed did not type an "l" (Lowercase letter L)  instead of a "1" (number 1) or even an "I" (uppercase letter I) ; an "O" (uppercase letter O) instead of a "0" (number 0) or added any spaces accidently.  Depending on google keyboard settings, it can sometime auto add spaces after a "." as you enter the URL.    And I've seen bugs on some software (not saying buzz necessarily), where they don't trim the URL or user/pass and if you add a leading space or trailing space, it will cause an error also.  And sometimes just a genuine typo of uppercase vs lowercase, or just the wrong letter.  I have stared at passwords sometimes for so long convincing myself that they are "correctly" typed, yet there was 1 letter off 🙂

Best option if you have multiple boxes, why not just do a backup on the known working box, using the buzztv5 backup&restore option, and then restore it on the box that is acting up.

As mentioned, buzz has released firmware for other boxes recently (addressing this as part of the update).  I am sure once they are done with CES this week, they will continue with the other boxes.  Google is trying hard to annoy all "non certified" boxes.  I'm sure Buzz will come up with a fix for it.
