I have the 4900

I have a 2 TB drive installed and connected...my problem is ...how do I download pictures and videos to my box from my android phone ?

you can remotely download using teamviewer and other softwares.

you can transfer your picture and video and your pc and then to your box using usb cable.

So I have to transfer to my PC first...there's no way to go from phone to box ?

put your files in google drive ,then access from the box

you can download team view on your box and your phone. open team viewer in both devices and try to connect them first. once connected you can transfer between your devices.

also, try this and see if it works, try using bluetooth option and see if it works.

It asks for partner ID ?

if this screen is from your box then partner id should be on phone. once you open up team viewer from your phone you should see id and enter that id here  and you should get request to connect on your phone

you have to allow incoming connections from your phone. watch some youtube video about teamviwers

Okay I got it. Using send files to tv app. Now how do make sure they are getting sent to my 2 TB removable storage instead of the device ?

once you select destination make sure you select your external storage.  worse case you can always copy and past/transfer from internal to external from your box. 

you will see external storage started to get full. you can go to all apps, file browser and select external device and you will see your stuff there.

Old topic but in case you're still trying there is an app called Feem that you can send files to any device Android/PC/Mac/Iphone/Linux. The free version works perfect for me for 2PC/1 android phone/1 android tablet and the 4900. We can even connect to our Samsung refrigerator lol. There's also a $4.99 annual pro version if needed to customize.
