  1. Ok guys you are correct.

When I set a program to record then went back to the home screen and shut down.

It woke up, recorded the program, after recording the program it went back to the home screen.

How I am doing another test.

Setting a recording up, then going to live tv then shutting down, I know it will wakeup and record the program I have scheduled to record but after recording I want to see if it goes to the live channel I was watching before shutting down or if it will return to the home screen after the recording.

I will let you know what I find out, I am hoping it returns to the home screen after recording.

Instead of asking, why not just try it yourself with a test recording ?

When it powers up to record it goes to the home screen and stays there.  It does not even launch the liveTV app in order to record.  So once it finishes recording, there is nothing else streaming.

And if you are worried of it streaming when you are not there, you can also set the option in the LiveTV app to exit after a certain period of not remote activity.  I have mine set to 2hrs, so if I fall asleep while watching TV, after 2 hrs, it will exit to main screen anyhow and stop streaming.

I will test this right now on my U5 and report back.

After setting a program to record at a future time I will return to the home screen and turn the box off.

I know it will wake and record the program but I think after the program records it will remain on the same channel playing and not return to the home screen.

    no

    I lied

Ok I didn't think that was correct because as far as I know none of mine go to the home screen after recording. (4900,U5 and my XRS4500)

it goes to home screen so no bandwidth is used after the recording

Is that statement correct (It goes to home screen after recording so no bandwidth used)?

you have to do that in settings/date & time

I have that set to 12 hour format in date & time, but that doesn't change it to 12 hour format in the manual recording settings.

When you setup a  manual recording the time format is still 24 hour format, I would like to change that to the 12 hour format also but I can't seem to find a way to change it.

  6. So far I have found nothing the mic works for on the ARQ250.

I do like the backlite feature on it though.

I have been looking for a manual for it without any luck finding one.

I went with a pair of TP-Link units (not sure if I can post the model number, so I'll pm you the details if you want them). I turned off my cable router's internal wi-fi, and added a powerline adapter to one of the LAN ports. Then I installed one extender on the main floor and one downstairs, set up my wi-fi network with the old credentials, and it literally lit up the house with a strong wi-fi signal. That left me with one spare adapter to use anywhere I need to.

Thanks Dave I got your PM and will check them out.

Hi folks. I haven’t posted anything for a while, so I thought I would give an update on my XRS 4500’s. I’m currently running FW V20220919 with Buzz5 version 5.0.783, and both boxes are running perfectly. I’ve been running on the new firmware since October 14th and haven’t had any issues to deal with. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, recording all working as expected. Current iteration of backup works fine but is not interchangeable between boxes. TWRP will hopefully solve that when it becomes available. Just a note about Wi-Fi, I was having issues a few months ago with dropped connections and router issues, so I installed two powerline adapter kits with Wi-FI extenders. No more WIFI issues, as these units work very well, and no LAN cabling required.

Hats off to the Buzz team for their great support.

What power line adapters and Wi-Fi extenders are you using?

I am thinking about going that route but I want something that works.

If anybody has an issue installing the latest 4900 Firmware
Mainly you're getting an error during installation

You can install it Manually via a USB Drive, through the Android Recovery Screen

I am able to record the channel I am watching on my X5 box  but if I switch channels, the recording in progress gets canceled. Is there a way to record a channel while watching another channel?

I have one server that gives me 4 lines and last week I did a test and recorded 3 different program's while watching the 4th on one of my XRS4500 boxes with the latest Buzz 5 program and it worked GREAT!  Like I said before these people did a GREAT job on creating the Buzz 5 program.

Mine is working so good on my XRS4500 boxes I am almost afraid to download any more updates. LOL

Wow thats great i was thinking of getting the x 5 to replace my xrs4500 but apart from av1 codec cant see the point,if you download a film is it quicker downloading to hhd on you u5 or same as internal storage?im in uk u5 not on sale yet i could buy via buzz global.

Other then the extra storage the U5 has over the XRS4500 I see no difference in the operation of it. The XRS4500 running the latest Buzz 5 program is an amazing box!

Now the XRS4500 running the Buzz 4 program that is a different store, I could NEVER record anything the way you should have been able to with the Buzz 4 program but with the Buzz 5 program it performs like it was made to!

If you have it turned off it will even wake up to record a program you have scheduled to record if it is running the latest version of the Buzz 5 program..

  13. I have no problem recording and watching another channel on my xrs4500 with 64gb internal storage or my U5 with 1 TB hard drive.

As a matter of fact I have one service provider that allows me to have 4 feeds and last week just as an experiment I was recording 3 channels and watching the 4th channel live on my xrs4500 with 64gb internal storage, all 3 channels recorded successively while I was watching the 4th channel live with the Buzz 5 program.

These people did a GREAT job on the Buzz 5 program!!
