  1. Make VERY VERY sure you have the portal typed in perfectly!  MANY MANY times when I typed the portal in I missed a letter, or had a space where there should not be a space, or something simple like that.

  2. If you have a backup with your old URL, Username and password you could still use that one.

All you would have to do is edit that backup once restored, with your new URL, username and password.

That way if you had all your channels backed up in your old backup all your channels and favorite channels would be restored.

I just went through this with one of my servers that changed to a new URL.

  3. While I was typing I noticed Emporium beat me to this answer. lol

"That is why before I have any problems it is always a good Idea to make a backup of a good working system on a small flash drive.

That way if you ever need to hard rest your box you will have all your server and channel setting to restore."

  4. Emporium you are the BEST!!

    Ok what I found out.

When I checked the volume buttons with my camera (as you suggested) they were not putting a signal out.

I found out this remote goes to sleep after some time, and the only way it wakes it up again is if you hit the power button that turns the TV on.

Once the remote is awaken and only then, will it send a signal from the other buttons on the remote.

Once I found this out it was very easy to program the BT350 to use the other buttons from the Insignia Fire TV remote.

Buy the way I did have it setup as you suggested ( If programming does not work, another option for you would be to change your buzz box to disable "max volume" and that way the main volume buttons on the b350 would allow the buzz box to output a variable audio level.  So you can then set your TV volume to something like 60% or 70%, and then the buzz box would output a variable level and when it is at max, it would represent the level you set on your TV.) I just wanted a way I could also control the TV volume just in case I would for some reason need to raise or lower the TV volume.

Thank you once again for your superb help Emporium, I can ALWAYS depend on you!!

  5. My BT350 remote will not program with my Insignia Fire TV remote.

I hold down the tv and source button on my Bt350 remote and get the solid red light.

I push the volume up button on my BT350 and get the blinking red light.

I point the two remotes together within 1" or less between them.

I hold down on the volume up button on my Fire TV remote but never receive a solid red light on the BT350 to indicate it was programed.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  6. I thought I seen something on here where you could use your computer to enter a URL on your U5 box.

I did all kinds of searches and cannot find anything on it.

Could someone please explain to me how to do this or am I just imagining I seen this somewhere?

    Yes that is true

    THAT SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!!!

As soon as that is perfected I will be ordering 2 of the PowerStation's, since they are, as far as I know the only box that operate with the BuzzTV 6.

  8. Are you guys saying in the future on Buzz 6 you would be able to put all your servers  favorite channels in your favorite folder and it would automatically switch from one server to another server to connect to the channel you selected, like the other popular player out there right now (ti*ima*e)??

If so once this is perfected I know for one I will be buying 2 of the PowerStation's!!

Don't know what app you are using (and we can't mention it since it is not a buzz app), but many of the 3rd party apps also have their own back/restore options to be able to save your playlists and settings.   I am pretty sure at least one of the major 3rd party iptv apps (tivi*) does have a back/restore function also, which I am pretty sure it backs up your playlists and favorites.  For other apps (since there are a few new decent ones also), I guess it is a feature that should be suggested to the devs.

Yes thanks Emporium I now have it all fixed, My backup copy of (tivi*) must have been corrupted for some reason. But since I have (2) of the U5's I was luckily enough to just make another (tivi*) backup from my second U5 and restore it on my first U5 and everything is working GREAT again. THIS SURE SAVE ME A LOT Of TIME and HASSEL!

Thanks for all you help once again Emporium!!!

You were told to save server settings and buzz app settings

I do have all those settings saved on backup for the Buzz app.

But I use a a different program to watch my IPTV channels, with the one I use I can put all my servers in one favorite folder instead of changing servers to watch different channels.

This is the one that will take me the most time to reset everything.

OK it gives you same amount of data, but it surely cleared cache at the same time, so clear data clears both.

After doing that, does it still tell you you have an update waiting ?  And still failing ?

What firmware "ICON" are you referring to ?  When you go to the updates screen (Settings->updates), then on the left side it should show you your current firmware (something like V2025xxxxx) and buzztv 5 software version (5.0.xxx).

I did a hard factory reset, after that it allowed me to download the firmware update.

Before I did the reset I could not even go into the area that showed you what firmware versions or software version you even had.

Now tomorrow I will try to reload everything I had on my box and setup all my servers and favorite channels again.

That is the only thing I hate when I have to do a factory reset!

I had enough with it today.

    in update screen

When I click on my update icon nothing happens. Same with the firmware icon, I click on it and nothing happens.

Same thing happens when I click on the clear data in the BuzzTV OTA screen, I hit OK to clear data and when I check the new data amount it still shows the same amount of data as it had before I cleared it.

I am about ready to do a hard factory reset as a last attempt to fix this, but I hate to lose everything I have set up.😩😪

If all else works, try the following..

Go to "Settings".  Select "Apps".  Scroll all the way down, and select "Show system apps"..  The scroll down again and find and select "BuzzTV OTA".  The select "Clear Data".  Could have been a bad download, this should clear it and force it to recheck.

But as nbs mentioned, what is your current f/w and s/w.

Where do I go to find my f/w and s/w?

  15. Guys for many month now I show I have a firmware update available on both of my U5's , But whenever I click on the up nothing happens!

I have waited for as long as 2 hours and never received the update.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Any help appreciated!!!
