Can the BT200 remote be paired to a U5 Buzztv box as a blue tooth device?
If it can what is the pairing procedure? (know you do not hit the OK and Home buttons)

Don't know what app you are using (and we can't mention it since it is not a buzz app), but many of the 3rd party apps also have their own back/restore options to be able to save your playlists and settings. I am pretty sure at least one of the major 3rd party iptv apps (tivi*) does have a back/restore function also, which I am pretty sure it backs up your playlists and favorites. For other apps (since there are a few new decent ones also), I guess it is a feature that should be suggested to the devs.
Yes thanks Emporium I now have it all fixed, My backup copy of (tivi*) must have been corrupted for some reason. But since I have (2) of the U5's I was luckily enough to just make another (tivi*) backup from my second U5 and restore it on my first U5 and everything is working GREAT again. THIS SURE SAVE ME A LOT Of TIME and HASSEL!
Thanks for all you help once again Emporium!!!

You were told to save server settings and buzz app settings
I do have all those settings saved on backup for the Buzz app.
But I use a a different program to watch my IPTV channels, with the one I use I can put all my servers in one favorite folder instead of changing servers to watch different channels.
This is the one that will take me the most time to reset everything.

OK it gives you same amount of data, but it surely cleared cache at the same time, so clear data clears both.
After doing that, does it still tell you you have an update waiting ? And still failing ?
What firmware "ICON" are you referring to ? When you go to the updates screen (Settings->updates), then on the left side it should show you your current firmware (something like V2025xxxxx) and buzztv 5 software version (5.0.xxx).
I did a hard factory reset, after that it allowed me to download the firmware update.
Before I did the reset I could not even go into the area that showed you what firmware versions or software version you even had.
Now tomorrow I will try to reload everything I had on my box and setup all my servers and favorite channels again.
That is the only thing I hate when I have to do a factory reset!
I had enough with it today.

in update screen
When I click on my update icon nothing happens. Same with the firmware icon, I click on it and nothing happens.
Same thing happens when I click on the clear data in the BuzzTV OTA screen, I hit OK to clear data and when I check the new data amount it still shows the same amount of data as it had before I cleared it.
I am about ready to do a hard factory reset as a last attempt to fix this, but I hate to lose everything I have set up.

If all else works, try the following..
Go to "Settings". Select "Apps". Scroll all the way down, and select "Show system apps".. The scroll down again and find and select "BuzzTV OTA". The select "Clear Data". Could have been a bad download, this should clear it and force it to recheck.
But as nbs mentioned, what is your current f/w and s/w.
Where do I go to find my f/w and s/w?

Guys for many month now I show I have a firmware update available on both of my U5's , But whenever I click on the up nothing happens!
I have waited for as long as 2 hours and never received the update.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help appreciated!!!

After I hit download I had the box on for over an hour before I turned it off.
-
Mine show's I have 1 firmware update available but when I hit update it does nothing.
Do I need to do anything special to download the update?
-
What do you have your sleep function set to?
I have mine set to NEVER.
-
Did you feel the button click when you are holding it in?
If you did it correct you should come to an Android screen not a BuzzTV screen.

SSD Problem
in U5
5 minutes ago, Emporium said:I have never formatted drives in my boxes. I always do it outside. If you format on the U5, you will lose the exFAT formatting.
Sounds good buddy, I will just hit cancel when the box askes if I want the box to format it.
I did as you told me
(Right click the 953GB Partition, and then select delete Volume, If you can, right click and delete volume on the small 16MB partition.
- Then right click the empty space, and create new volume and follow the prompts to be able to create partition and format it. If exFAT is an option format it as exFAT ideally.)
And now the drive is showing up in File Explorer so I think I have both of my new SSD back!!!
Thanks again Emporium !

OK Emporium I will give it a try, I HOPE it works I would love to have these SSD's back.
If it does bring them back and my U5's recognizes the drive when it askes if I want to format them in the U5 should I click yes or click cancel?
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP Emporium!!!

SSD Problem
in U5
10 hours ago, Emporium said:First thing I would have said, is to verify the power supply on the U5. Unlike other Buzz boxes, the xrs4900, the U5, and the new P6 use a 12V power supply, not a 5V like the other boxes.
However considering they are no longer even seen on your PC, then the disks seem to be dead. I've used many SSD on my 4900 and U5, and I have only ever has a single drive fail. Mind you, I have never used samsung drives, I typically use intel or micron enterprise class ssd.
When you say you don't see them on your PC, they don't even show up in device manager, or disk manager ? Corrupted partition can happen, but the drive itself does not even show up in device manager under "disks" ? Windows+R to get the run dialog and you type diskmgmt.msc to bring up drive manager, and the drive is not there ?
Emporium, Yes when I go into diskmgmt.msc it is showing up as Disk 1, but when I go into File Explorer it is NOT showing up. And my U5 is not seeing it.
If I could go into File Explorer to see it I could try to reformate it to see if that would help.
Any other suggestions on what I can do to get these working again?

SSD Problem
in U5
Guys I have a big problem, I have (2) U5’s so I purchased (2) Samsung 1TB SSD to use as storage for any recording I want.
I formatted them exfat on my computer and installed them in my U5 boxes.
Both the U5’s recognized the SSD, and I set them up as removable storage, I recorder 2 programs to each of them.
I played all 4 recordings and everything worked great.
Later on I checked on them and discover it was saying Samsung USB drive is safely ejected, Samsung USB drive not connected! (I NEVER EJECTED THEM)
When I remove the drives, reboot my U5 and try to install them again the U5 doesn’t see them.
And the thing that troubles me even more, when I try to see them on my computer they never show up, like they don’t even exist.
What the heck went wrong???
Any help would be greatly appreciated ( I have a lot of money invested in the SSD’s) !!!!

Try unplugging the box from electric for about 30 seconds, the plug it back in and let it reboot.
This always seems to help me when I have problems like that.

As far as I know, boxes with PVR+ do not even "wake up" as you think. I have one of my boxes connected to a monitor on my desk (in my home office). And when I have recording scheduled, The box stays off (red LED) and it still records in the background. So obviously no need to shutdown afterwards
And I don't put my boxes in standby. Power button is always set to "shutdown" in my case.
In the past, yes, they used to wake up, record what they had to record and stay on. But pretty sure both my Classic and X5 do not do that now.
Wow, I need to check this out, I haven't used this in a while, maybe with one of the updates something changed.
The ones I have are (2) of the U5's

I would like to also see a way to have this happen.
I would like to see if your box is turned off then wakes up to record a program once the program is recorder the box turns off again.
Example: If I have a program scheduled to record late at night, after I turned my box off for the night, it wakes up to record the program but after the program is recorder the box stays on for the rest of the night, or until I manually turn it off the next day. .

I would like to see being able to have all you favorite channels from all your different IPTV providers in one favorite folder, like you can on the Tivimate program, instead of having to switch providers.

More then once I had new batteries that were very low in voltage.
