I have no problem recording and watching another channel on my xrs4500 with 64gb internal storage or my U5 with 1 TB hard drive.
As a matter of fact I have one service provider that allows me to have 4 feeds and last week just as an experiment I was recording 3 channels and watching the 4th channel live on my xrs4500 with 64gb internal storage, all 3 channels recorded successively while I was watching the 4th channel live with the Buzz 5 program.
These people did a GREAT job on the Buzz 5 program!!

Not yet.
It does now with the latest update!
Now all they need to do is get the backup and restore working.
-
WOW, it looks like the suspend option is finally working as it should!!
When put in the suspend mode it shuts off the box, blue light turns to red just like my XRS4500 boxes do.
Now the only thing we need is the backup and restore function.

abraxas, I can tell you one think with the XRS4500 if you want to do any recordings you definitely want the Buzz 5 operating system !
The Buzz 4 operating system never recorder programs well, with the Buzz 5 system the XRS4500 works perfect for recording like it was designed to do.
If you have a recording scheduled and the box is off it will even wake up and record the program.
If you provider gives you more then one feed you can record and watch another program while it is recording.
EXAMPLE: I have one provider that gives me 4 lines, the other day I was recording 3 programs and watching another channel.

We made no changes that would affect playback of PVR recordings.
Have you tried playing them on VLC?
Now I unplugged the box, plugged it back in and left it reboot and now it is working like it should again. lol
Can you believe that?
I guess from now on whenever something is not working correct the first thing I will do is reboot.
BUT WHAT IS VLC?

I received an update today to version 5.0.771 and it messed up the playing of recorder programs.
When you try to fast forward a recorded program it just restarts it from the beginning again.
I hope they get this fixed because version 5.0770 was working perfect!
By the way this is on my XRS4500 MAX box.

Hi , I have a xrs4500 & have just updated using the 2015 method. Its updated to the 5.0.653 version & even using 2015 after it says ive got lastest. Ive rebooted a couple of times but not having any luck in getting the 767 version.
Any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
When you say you rebooted, did you unplug the box for a few seconds, or just shut it down and restarted it?
It took me a few time to get the rest of the update also, just give it a little more time and try it again.
And by the way the latest update in now 5.0.769.

No idea ,You can try a reboot
I wouldn't worry about it though Best to wait till Monday for allaboutbuzz to comment
That did it, unplugged the box, plugged it back in and left it reboot, went back in to check for updates and sure enough it downloaded a small update.
I now have version 5.0.769

buzz updates from menu button The 2015 is to get the beta
I did that also, but it is saying I am on the latest update, but I know the latest update is version 5.0.767
Is there any reason it will not update me to the latest version? (version 5.0.767)

after checking for update did you enter 2015?
Yes I did, I thought by entering 2015 again after updating to Buzz 5 it would update again to the version 5.0.767 that I have on my XRS4500 MAX.
-
Are all the Buzz 5 updates for the XRS4500 the same version?
The reason I am asking is because on my XRS4500 MAX my version is 5.0.767 but on my XRS4500 it is only version 5.0.653.
And my XRS4500 was just updated to Buzz 5 this afternoon but my XRS4500 MAX was updated last week, why wouldn't they both be 5.0.767?

Is it possible to get this box to shut down in the suspend mode like the 4500 boxes do in the next firmware version?

I ordered me a XRS4500 Max from amazon for less than 105.00, with 2 remote, happy with but this is my 1st android box and never used anything a Fire products.. Never use a android phone so it been a little hard to load.. But the pic on my 75" tv is AWESOME..
That was a VERY good price for the XRS4500 Max with 2 remotes!
I just checked Amazon and they don't have that price now.

Ok thanks guys. Off to buy the Max. Your advice was very useful. Cheers!
You will be very happy with it, for the difference in price between the XRS4500 and the XRS4500 Max I think you made a very good choice !
Since I upgraded mine from the Buzz 4 operating system to Buzz 5 operating system I can record anything even with the box turned off.
The box will wake up and record what I have scheduled to record.
With the XRS4500 Max and its 128GB storage you will be able to record hundreds of programs!

Don't know where you are seeing all these, but as far as I know there are 3 models of the 4500.
The XR4500, XRS4500 and XRS4500 MAX.
https://buzztv.com/site/xr-4500/
https://buzztv.com/site/xrs-4500/
https://buzztv.com/site/xrs-4500-max/The main difference is the internal memory and onboard storage. Other than that, they are the same. I would say the xrs4500 is probably the best suited for most people (would be quicker than the xr4500 since it has 4GB of internal memory vs 2 on the basic xr4500). If the xrs4500 max is not much more, you do get double the internal storage, but if planning to use it for recordings, then a USB stick could also be used for that, if you decide to record later.
I think the XRS4500 2022 comes with the new BT-300 remote instead of the BT-100 remote, that is the only difference I know of.

Hi guys,
This is my first venture into the IPTV realm. I would like to purchase a box but am confused with the offerings and differences. I am looking at the following:
XRS4500
XRS4500 2022
XRS4500 MAX
Any help and insight would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Do you want to record Live TV programs or record VOD?
If you do out of the 3 you have listed I would go with the XRS4500 Max
-
Thanks Guys!
Now off to buy a BT-100 or BT-200!
-
Does anyone know if the BT-100 or BT-200 remote will work with the U5 box?
The BT-400 will not work the way I need it to (don't want it to control the TV on & off).
I am using the IR-200 remote to control the U5 right now and it operates the way I need it to, but the IR-200 remote is not backlite, I would like to get a backlite remote.

Other then the extra storage the U5 has over the XRS4500 I see no difference in the operation of it. The XRS4500 running the latest Buzz 5 program is an amazing box!
Now the XRS4500 running the Buzz 4 program that is a different store, I could NEVER record anything the way you should have been able to with the Buzz 4 program but with the Buzz 5 program it performs like it was made to!
If you have it turned off it will even wake up to record a program you have scheduled to record if it is running the latest version of the Buzz 5 program..
