**NEW** Official X5 Firmware + Buzz 5 App Update - July 5th, 2022
Dave J replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in X5 AI / AX-C
Will the Wake to Record from Suspend and Shutdown for Scheduled Recordings find it's way back into the Buzztv 5 beta? -
It is formatted as a removable drive, the box won't back up to internal. So far I have formatted on windows 10 (FAT 32), and on the box itself as removable storage. Backup file is readable on the box that created it, but not on the other. Tried both boxes, same result.
-
Unfortunately formatting the microSD card as external memory on the box itself didn't work. Unless I'm missing a step, it appears that the backup and restore is only good for an individual box. That won't be beneficial if you were to buy a new box and try to transfer your files and settings.
-
Thanks, I will give that a try.
-
I've tried more than once. I'm backing up to microSD card on first box. When inserted the card into the other box it doesn't see any backup file. I formatted the card on a Windows 10 laptop. Do I need to format it on the box itself?
-
I am able to use the backup and restore on both of my XRS4500 boxes without any issues. However, I cannot backup one box and then use that backup to transfer the settings the other box! Are these backups machine specific?

Yes, the BT-400 app is on the X5, Android 11. But on the BuzzTV.com site under products/4500 series/xrs4500, they are showing "new for 2022 the BT-300 smart remote with a TV learning feature", which does appear similar to the X5 remote. That would be running on Android 9, just not sure if the unit would ship with BuzzTV 4, or the final version of BuzzTV 5. I've sent them an inquiry.
-
Sorry, I should have asked, is there a possibility that the BT400 app will be incorporated in the next (or Alfa) firmware release for the 4500 series?

Thanks allaboutbuzz, recording works perfectly on both boxes. Just to add some information, I did some experimenting and found something that's worth sharing. If you set up a recording and go to the Home Screen, no pip, once the recording begins you can go back to live TV and it won't interrupt the recording if you change the channel. Last night I actually set up two manual recordings with overlapping times, changed to a third channel, then went to Home Screen no pip. Once both recordings started I went back to live tv on that same channel. Now I'm watching channel C, while recording channels A and B. So far, I've done this twice and it was successful.

Works like a charm!!

IPTV Version is 5.0.727, One Button Record is off (on both boxes).
-
I'm aware of that. So, going back to my first paragraph, what is causing the power pad to pop up, (and the other recording issues) when recording on the 4500 MAX. They do not happen on the 4500.
-
It shows 1 connection. Shows my MAC ID, Loggin (blank) and an expiry date.
-
Not sure if this helps, but I used to have these problems on the 4500, but somehow they disappeared. Connection is with the original IPTV service. MAX is on a different provider. Version is actually .727.
-
I'm not sure what your asking? I have one (MAC server) connection on each box.
-
Hi.I know this has come up before, but I'm really having trouble with recording on the 4500MAX. First, the power / restart / screenshot pad appears whenever I do any recording (EPG or Manual, in LiveTV or Home Screen). In Home Screen mode, all recordings will fail if PIP is off. In Home Screen mode the channel will not change to the pre-set recording channel even with PIP on, and recording fails. What's interesting is that I have two boxes (4500 and 4500MAX), both set up exactly the same; same settings, both have device health services disabled, both running BuzzTV .725. None of these issues appear on the 4500. Recording works perfectly. I can actually start a recording from home screen, no PIP, then go to Live TV and change channels without the current recording stopping. The only difference between these boxes is that they are on different IPTV servers. Can anyone offer any suggestions why the Max won't work and the 4500 does? It's driving me nuts!

Thanks, now I understand how it works. Appreciate your reply. Regards, Dave J.

Notes said: -Fixed locked category couldn't be hidden. I assumed this was referring to the locked channels.
-
I received the .721 update on the 4500, and the locked channels are still visible in the guide when the locked category is set to hidden.
-
That's not the issue I'm having. My power definition is set to suspend so that I don't wait the 15 - 20 seconds for the TV to come up. The remote will put both the TV and the box in suspend, problem is when I push the power button it also acts as a default change to channel 8! As it stands now, without start LiveTV from suspend it's either a multi-step process (power resume, push OK, change from channel 8), or the longer wait to watch TV (power on, boot to LiveTV). Sadly I'm finding a few more bugs than I would have expected from a new product (see my post on hiding locked channels).
-
Holding the power button down will not bring up the power pad either.
-
I tried that setting as well, but when paired to the TV the box will only go into suspend; it won't shut down.
-
The box goes into standby, and the TV shuts off. As the X 5 won't start in live TV yet the box starts in the Home Screen. When I hit LiveTV I'm on channel 8. I change the channel to 24, and when I hit power off, 8 appears in the upper left corner and everything shuts off. Turn on, hit LiveTV and I'm back on channel 8 again. However, if I go from LiveTV to the Home Screen before shutting down nothing appears in the upper left. Turn on, hit LiveTV and I'm on the channel I was watching.
