After checking all my settings and hardware I wasn't able to find out what was causing the problem. Last night I got the .759 update, and the problem is gone!
-
I'm using suspend at the moment. Haven't tried from a cold start, that's next on my list. I'm also looking a little deeper into my setup, as I've never had any problems with updates before. I'll update this post once I eliminate a few things.

I haven't sent a message yet, but I have considered whether it might be an issue with my provider. I've been using the service for the last 6 months without any problems, but things can change without warning. Probably a good idea to contact them as well.

Thanks. If it's a glitch the Dev team will find it.

Yes, cleared the data and cache, no change. Uninstalled the Buzz5TV app and re-started the box, App auto-updates to .758. Then I re-enter my server info and re-connect. Put the box in standby, and then turn back on. Hasn't resolved the problem.

Since .756, my 4500's won't directly start in live TV. I get a message "stream not available, try again later", then suddenly I have my channel. Other times I get only a blank screen. I hit live TV, then the channel kicks in. Doesn't matter which channel, wired or wi-fi.

Yes, hard reset is the avenue of last resort, but sometimes there is no other way out. The 4500 on BuzzTV 5 beta has back up and restore, and as dishuser suggested using it can save you hours of work (and grief). Best regards, Dave J.

I found that when it freezes, before it reloads the pop up widow displays exit the app or wait, which he mentioned in his post. There is enough time to exit the app, and you're left in the home screen. Then you can get into the settings.
-
Had this happen to me once. Before you do the hard reset, go to apps, BuzzTV5, and clear the data and cache. That worked for me. You may have to re-enter your server info; it was a while ago and I don't remember.

Yes, working fine again. Seems to load up just a bit faster with this update.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.

I noticed that the weather app is no longer updating on the Home Screen, although when you enter the settings wheel it is up to date. If I exit and restart the BuzzTV5 app, it updates on the Home Screen . Is this related to the original issue?

It's working perfectly!
-
Yes. It's when going back in the single EPG as opposed to the rewind button.

In Live TV, press right arrow, go back in time. Then press up (or down) arrow, then OK to go back to live TV. That's where the glitch occurs as the channel will go to the top or bottom of the category instead of up (or down) one channel.
-
The problem is still there.
-
Thanks Ryu, that works.
-
Sorry, I had to correct a few omissions. If you're in live TV and use the reverse to go back in time, then push the up or down arrow, then OK the channel will change to live TV one channel up or down. If in live TV you push the right arrow, then go back in time to a previous show, then push the up or down arrow and OK, it changes the channel to the top or bottom of the category as before. Almost there.

I’ve found a strange glitch in the live TV catch up. When in catch up, if you press the up button, the pop up asks if you want to exit to live TV. If you press OK it changes the channel to the second channel in the category you are in (channel 2). If you follow the same procedure and press the down arrow, then OK, it changes the channel to the last one in the category. To exit to live TV without changing channels I enter the channel number that’s in catch up and it returns to live tv. Tried this in different catagories, on both players, and on two boxes with the same results.

**NEW** Official X5 Firmware + Buzz 5 App Update - July 5th, 2022
Dave J replied to allaboutbuzz's topic in X5 AI / AX-C
Thanks nbs. I received this file from allaboutbuzz a few weeks ago, and it fixed all the recording issues I was having, however it did not fix the wake from suspend. That requires a firmware update which is pending. Cheers. -

Noted, I'll move this thread. But FYI, it's not fixed on my two 4500's under .739. -

I had an X5, didn't do it for me so I returned it; but not before becoming familiar with it. As for the wake from suspend issue it was not restricted to the x5, as this feature worked on my 4500's with the beta5 version prior to the .702 update. Have a look at my post under XRS4500, Buzztv5 beta dated April 26. -

I think that's common knowledge.
