I paired my remote with my LG TV, turned on CEC, use auto TV set up. Everything works, except when I push the power key on the remote channel 8 appears in the upper left corner before entering standby. It doesn't matter what channel I'm on when I press the power key, it always goes back to channel 8 every time I shut down.

On my X5 I've locked a number of redundant live TV channels, and then set locked channels as hidden in categories, however they still appear in the guide. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your reply NBS. It's a great feature to have, but not a necessity. On another subject, you asked me what software version I was using on my strange recording quirk question (5.0.714). Is there any news on that?
-
You never need it......untill you need it!!

I do hope they will bring this back, as it is a very usefull utility!

Just received my X5 and am going over the the menu settings, and I can't find the back-up and restore!

After running a few tests the recording issues I had with the PVR are resolved, however when scheduling a delayed recording the box no longer comes out of standby to record the program. This was working previously.

Can someone please tell me what was covered in the .713 update? I usually take a screen shot, but I cleared the screen before I had a chance to read it.

Try this; When in LiveTV, hit menu. At the bottom left you will see your firmware version, should be 5.0.705 or so. Go to settings/configuration/liveTV and select secondary player. Then scroll down and select boot to live TV. Go back to settings and select exit. This will re-start BuzzTV 5. Let me know if this helps.

Did a hard reset this morning and re-did my PVR tests again. Regardless of the settings, I can't record anything longer than 30 minutes. Can someone offer any suggestions?
-
I realize this is an old thread but I am having the same issue (running on ver .706). I can't seem to get any recordings longer than 30 minutes. Have tried both secondary and default players, power options live TV and default, box standby or on, on selected channel, EPG and manual recording. With manual I tried both 45 and 1:15 minute settings but no luck. One button record is always set to off. I hadn't been able to really test this until the power option was fixed, but I know I've recorded in the past and it did work. Just not sure if that was before the beta.

I have the same problem with the video. Turning off "start in live TV" in power options got rid of the freezing wheel, but you need to hit the live TV button after coming out of standby to refresh the picture. That gets you back online right away when using the secondary player, which works better than the default. I believe this is being looked into.

Are we the offline conversation with BuxxTV?
-
Thanks nbs. I sent them a polite e-mail saying that I followed their suggestion to contact stbtalk, and they referred me back to BuzzTV, as was their app that needed fixing. Unfortunately, they can't fix it, as they are using a free weather service from an outside source. I will pm allaboutbuzz later and see what he thinks. Thanks to all for your help. Regards, Dave J.

Thanks for your help, this works for me. Regards, Dave J.

Did their weather app guys supply the beta team with the app? If so I will send them a copy of the transcript and see what they have to say.

If it's part of the beta I'm sure it will be resolved at some point. It is one of those small details that might not show up often since it is location specific. Thanks.

Just updating this post. I e-mailed BuzzTV support to follow up on my April 13th chat with them on this issue, and they've now told me that I should contact stbtalk about help with this. Seems I'm back to square 1. Is the weather app (widget) part of the Buzz5 beta?

Thanks for your reply. Under PVR Options, I don't have the Auto Shut Off feature on version 5.0.701. I do have the shut-off feature under the menu / configuration, and from your comments I now understand how that works. When I turn the system on after recording the night before, I'm usually tuned to the live TV channel that was recording (which auto changed from the live channel I was watching prior to going standby). Should I assume that after I do a scheduled recording that the system no longer is using the internet until I push the LiveTV button?
-
I gave it a try; no luck. Set the recording and powered off the box. At the scheduled time box powered up, and recorded the show. When the recording was finished, the box did not power off, or go into standby. That was not the result I wanted.
-
Got it! I'll give that a try. Thanks nbs.

What I am trying to do for recording when I am away from home is automate that process. The screen saver feature would appear capable of doing exactly that. The question is, is this a working feature on the box, or is it something that hasn't been implemented?
-
Is there a setting that will do that if I'm away for the weekend?
-
Good afternoon; On the BuzzTV 5 beta settings there is a screen saver feature which would allow for a screen saver to take affect after a set time of inactivity, or put the device to sleep after a set amount of time. I haven't been able to make this feature work, and I believe it would be great for putting the box in either standby or off after recording with the PVR. Setting record will bring the box out of standby at the set time, so going back to standby when finished would save wasting data when away from home. Can someone please comment or advise? Thanks.
