Jackellis20 Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Over the past few days I have started having problems with my XRS4500. It has started to randomly reset when watching TV. There seems to be no reason for it to reset, it has started happening once every couple of hours etc. any ideas? Thanks Quote
Ryu Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 reset or reboot? if reboot make sure your power outlet is not loose and check for polarity. Quote
nbs. Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 So your box loses all your info and you have to re-enter all your info? Quote
Jackellis20 Posted May 9, 2023 Author Posted May 9, 2023 Sorry no it reboots not resets, my bad. It’s never really done it before but now it seems to happen I’d say at least once or twice a night. The box is never under any particular load just general channel switching etc Quote
Ryu Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 try a different outlet and if on extension cord then try with different extension to eliminate things to see what causing the issue. Quote
Ryu Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 or if you want to reset your box maybe that can help too but you will loose all the server...etc settings. Quote
Emporium Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I did have a friend who had similar issues, and it turned out it was his power supply. It worked fine for the most part, but I guess over time it could not deliver enough current. Gave him a spare 5V, 2A power supply I had lying around and it never happened again. 1 Quote

Jackellis20 Posted May 14, 2023 Author Posted May 14, 2023 Just to provide an update. It does seem to be a faulty plug/wire which affects the box. Thanks for the suggestions. 2 Quote
