sunnyc Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 I have X5 128 AI device and currently running V20220729 with IPTV version 5.0.756. When I click "Check For Update" I get no update. I searched the forum and could not find a similar post. Can someone help to update the firmware and buzz tv app please. Quote

HE is only back on Monday, so don't expect a reply on the weekend, but he can take care of it. Quote
dishuser Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 ya I put my glasses on and it is 775...lol 1 Quote
sunnyc Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 thanks dishuser and Emporium. I will PM my box info to allaboutbuzz and later update this thread. Quote
dishuser Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 if I remember correctly others had issues updating like we did with the june version hopefully they can update you via ota or you'll have to use recovery file 1 Quote
Emporium Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 The June version was an exception (and I had one of the boxes affected). I don't think there was another. Anyhow, allaboutbuzz can confirm. Probably just missed one "source" version to target with any of the newer firmware. Quote
sunnyc Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 I found a similar post ( ) with even a older version and the solution was to download 3 files and manually update, after which all upgrades will go well. I have PM allaboutbuzz and wait for the response. Quote

dishuser Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 problem I have an X5 and it doesn't show any update. Current version: V20220729 and current IPTV Version: 5.0.756 solution yes Mike is going to ship me a SD card with the file on it. so memory is still working...lol Quote

I have PM allaboutbuzz and wait for the response. That is the version I had. As far as I was aware, that was the only version that was affected (But I guess I may have been wrong). I had a few microSD cards lying around and I created my own, and the update worked fine. IT did scare me for a second, since during the update process, there was not sign of life for a while. Just went red after a little while and stayed there. Don't interrupt it, be patient and it will eventually come back on. However, before trying anything with the SD card, wait for Monday to get confirmation from allaboutbuzz. Quote
Emporium Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 (edited) After the update, I have gotten a few updates since. I am now at V20221011, and Buzz app version 5.0.775. Edited January 14, 2023 by Emporium Quote
dishuser Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 if you have an sd card fix it yourself or wait for a preloaded card to be sent to you if you have access to a card just do it yourself instead of waiting keep in mind you lose all data Quote
sunnyc Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 As Emporium suggests, I will wait for response from allaboutbuzz then proceed with update via sd card. Quote
sunnyc Posted January 17, 2023 Author Posted January 17, 2023 @allaboutbuzzI have sent you a PM with my MAC address, please let me know how I can get the latest version on to my X5. Quote

Includes Link to the 3 files and a link to a video showing how to do it. https://stbtalk.com/index.php?/topic/4446-new-official-x5-firmware-buzz-5-app-update-september-22nd-2022/&do=findComment&comment=16422 Be patient when you do it, at some points it may look like it is doing nothing, but let it go. Can take a few minutes. 1 Quote
sunnyc Posted January 17, 2023 Author Posted January 17, 2023 Thanks Emporium, will give it a try and update later Quote
sunnyc Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 I tried the SD card procedure, it has been more than 5 minutes still the LED is RED. Should I wait longer? Or is the box bricked? Quote
sunnyc Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 It has been 20 minutes and LED is sill RED. I have SD card formatted to FAT 32 and three files in the root folder. Followed the instructions as seen in the video. Any thoughts? Quote
sunnyc Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 64GB card, volume created to 16GB and formatted to FAT32. I cannot find any cards in shop smaller than 64GB (just got it today) Quote
dishuser Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 leave it as 64gb I never changed the size of storage on mine Quote
sunnyc Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 Windows does not allow to format a 64GB card to FAT32; hence I have to create a smaller volume. Quote
