I sent the box to buzztv and they fixed it and upgraded to latest firmware.

Contacted support and their response was exFAT should not be used. I am not sure if that is the real reason why my box got bricked. For any one, do NOT update with exFAT file system. I am sending in my box for RMA.

Sent email and hope they can do something to bring the box live.

I waited for 30 minutes, removed card and tried without card. System does not boot and LED is RED

I tried with exfat and repeated same procedure. Still the LED is RED. I am not sure what options I have now.

oh! I followed the instruction which said FAT32, let me try the procedure with exfat.

Windows does not allow to format a 64GB card to FAT32; hence I have to create a smaller volume.

64GB card, volume created to 16GB and formatted to FAT32. I cannot find any cards in shop smaller than 64GB (just got it today)

It has been 20 minutes and LED is sill RED. I have SD card formatted to FAT 32 and three files in the root folder. Followed the instructions as seen in the video. Any thoughts?

I tried the SD card procedure, it has been more than 5 minutes still the LED is RED. Should I wait longer? Or is the box bricked?

As Emporium suggests, I will wait for response from allaboutbuzz then proceed with update via sd card.

I found a similar post ( ) with even a older version and the solution was to download 3 files and manually update, after which all upgrades will go well. I have PM allaboutbuzz and wait for the response.

I have X5 128 AI device and currently running V20220729 with IPTV version 5.0.756. When I click "Check For Update" I get no update. I searched the forum and could not find a similar post. Can someone help to update the firmware and buzz tv app please.

@allaboutbuzz can we add an enhancement in future release to have a backup option of all custom settings/apps and restore them when needed?

After several reboots Corelec application screen came up. The issue now is, remote keys don't work. I cannot select the "next" button.

No, I did not see recovery screen. It came up with SORO logo and constantly going thru recycle. I am waiting to see if it is going to boot after few attempts. Yes, I renamed the file as mentioned in the instruction and copied it to the root folder.

I tried the 19.5 RC2, burned it to a USB flash drive. Followed the toothpick reset method, nothing boots up. Has any one had any luck , can you share your experience.

I read all threads related to new update 20220726. It is not clear what is going on with this update. As another user pointed out buzz tv logo changed to SARO. With this update I notice following differences compared to 20220714 version: 1. Smart Remote app is no longer available 2. fonts are way smaller compared to the previous version that I had 3. device name changed for X5 AI128 to gt5000 4. Unable to add google account in settings How can I find out what are new features/bug fixes with current release? Is this a glitch that we got a different firmware meant for gt5000 installed on X5 hardware or is it just a title issue. If someone can provide some clarity it will be very helpful.

Follow the video(shows for a different device, but identical for X5) in this post which shows how to do hard reset (using the AV input). One thing to keep in mind is, you have to feel the reset before you reinsert the power.
