Ryu Posted Wednesday at 01:08 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:08 AM contact your provider and check the status of the server. Quote
Emporium Posted Wednesday at 01:22 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:22 AM I'm assuming you tried rebooting your box (unplug power, and replug) ? Quote
Wasaga Posted Wednesday at 03:42 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 03:42 AM My provider re booted the server. I unplugged my router, Buzz box for more than 5 mins. Deleted my wifi connection and reconnected. Went into my Rogers app to make sure the securety was turned off. If something is blocking my url can we not just change the server or ip or something to see if that fixs the problem? I bought this box because people where telling they have not had any major problems and here I have only had my unit 5 wks and my power button stopped working the first week on the remote and now done a whole night with no TV. Emporium Posted Wednesday at 04:19 AM Posted Wednesday at 04:19 AM Buzz does not provide any IPTV service, so they can not change any server or IP. That is up to your provider. And I am very skeptical when you say your provider rebooted the server. No service will reboot the server for 1 client saying he/she has problems, since it will affect ALL their clients. Are you sure that your Internet provider is not blocking you ? Do you have a VPN service available ? I would recommend enabling a VPN service if you have one, since the super bowl is around the corner, the blocking is going to be at full throttle with many internet providers this week, all the way through the weekend. And power button failing first week, you should just message buzz, and see if you can get a replacement under warranty if you have only had it for 5 weeks. Quote
Wasaga Posted Wednesday at 01:39 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:39 PM I already went into my internet provider and made sure the security was turned off that would have detected this. I have had other boxs running for years and they are still working fine. I told my proveder that the red power button had stopped working and his reply was is the standby working if so that is the best one to use anyway Quote

That is independent from your router and out f your control. Turning off security does not control what the ISP does on their end to block connections. And when they block it will not be everything. Often it is just certain destinations/services. Your box provider is far from helpful. And from his reply, he really does not seem to care or know much. The RED power button on the IR55 (which comes with the L1) is a programmable button (to be able to control TV Power, soundbar, etc..) . It is NOT designed to do anything on the buzz box by default. The Green button is the actual power button for the Buzz Box. I am not in front of my L1 now, but I am pretty sure there is an option in the menus (Powerkey definition) to have the green button work as standby/suspend, or shutdown. I always use shutdown to ensure a clean boot all the time. The L1 literally takes less than 5 seconds to load, so why bother with Standby. To program the RED button to mimic the button of another remote, you can follow the instruction for the remote's manual. PS: Did you try what I sent you yesterday in Direct Message ? Wasaga Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago I would like to thank everyone who responded to my request for a fix to my problem. A extra special thanks to Emporium who went way out of his way to try to find a fix. My provider came thru last night with a solution that worked and is still working. I have no idea what he did but the end result was what I needed and I'm so happen to be able to watch TV again after been down for about 27hrs. Quote
Emporium Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Glad it is back up. But just curious, is it an XC type login that you are setup for,or a MAC type login. If you are using a MAC type login on your device/sub, then it is quite possible that your reseller needed to simply do a device reset on his panel (which should have been his first reflex). Anyhow, it's done. And feel free to program your RED power button on the remote. 1 Quote
