Yes, following the instruction video, I removed power from the box, held the button with a toothpick while plugging it back in, and released the button after 15 seconds.

The box sat for an close to 2 hours with no change in light color or video output-  solid red LED and black screen.

was the red light on when you released reset button?

give it another try

about 2 years ago I had to try twice and it took almost 20 minutes

Thank you for this.   I will follow up on how it works out.  I hope to hear back from the support group tomorrow.

Support reached out 2 days after I emailed them.  They requested my original invoice.

Upon me providing it to them, they indicated that my box is not under support and that

Quote

"Unfortunately, we do not give out any recovery files. We can take your box in for repair if you'd like. "

The cost to repair the box is apparently entirely on me, which is very concerning as this box became defective upon me installing an update that they made available via push.

And not just to ship it to them:

In the event that it cannot be repaired, we cannot replace it for another one since you are out of warranty.

The shipment of the box must be paid by the customer as well. This means both shipping to and from us.

I'm not sure how to proceed at this point, but I've had a non functional X5 AI box for a nearly a week now.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Have the Powerstation 6, got the X5 out of the drawer to check out an app.  Gave the notice of an update so opted to update.  Came back later to a reboot button, it started the reboot and looked like it was starting ok then I left the room.   Came back 5 minutes later and it was stalled.  Waited a while longer and no change.  Unplugged and plugged back in and the same startup Buzz icon. The next time it is totally bricked.  No lights or activity.  Any ideas?????

Have you tried a hard factory reset ?  Happened to a friend of mine on her Classic and she brought me it, and I did a hard reset and all is back.

Here is the procedure, different device, but process is the same.  Yes you will loose anything you installed on the box, but better than a box that does not work.

Downloaded.
Update finished.
Reboot.
Screen stuck on logo for hours.
Unplugged and plugged back in.
Screen stuck on logo for a couple hours before unplugged again.
Same results. Ughhhhh!
Brick?

Same happened to me. Then finally unplugged for 30 seconds only and plugged back in and loaded properly.

I never have any issues with updates since I began using Techdoctoruk's 2 apps - App Killer and Cache Cleaner. I run APP KILLER at the end of each streaming session and Cache Cleaner about once a week. My conclusion is this - IPTV & Streaming is a 'weakest link in the chain' technology (still) and you get more consistent results running your box lean and mean. Good luck folks and happy streaming!

How did you get it to work ? (app killer and cashe cleaner)  ... installed it on my BUZZ6 , doesn't connect . Messaged "The Tech doc" and he told me it doesn't work on the BUZZ6 .
