I have tried dozens of different USB sticks, different brands, different sizes, different formats/filesystems, and typically I only get about 25% of them to work no the P6.  Tried a few external drives (WD passport, Lacie, seagate, and even some usb->SATA adapters with SSD drives) and it is about the same.

Still testing and trying to find a pattern, but so far, I am stumped.

I thought it might be an Android 13 issue, but the X5 SS has no issue with all of those sticks, which is what has be stumped.

Will continue to test.

So couple/few issues I am encountering on my P6. So sometimes my P6 ha6d the red light on but it is actually on and works like normal with a green light. (First picture)

Second issue is P6 keeps disconnecting (forgets) my m.2 NVME external drive that I have formatted as internal. I have to reboot the P6 in order for it to be recognized and usable again. This happens almost daily after waking up the shield. (2nd and 3rd picture)

Third issue is some apps not playing sound on my Vizio sound bar using HDMI cable. Paramount+ was one of the apps. It would actually play sound on the preview but if I go watch a show, any show no sound. Since they fixed the Bluetooth I just use my Vizio sound bar with Bluetooth and works with no issue.

The external drive issue listed above is by far the worse of the 3 issues I have at the moment.

Are you using the actual power supply which came with the P6, or using a power supply from an older Buzz box ?

For the Audio through HDMI, try some of the following.  Quick one go to settings->device preferences->Display and sound->Advance sound settings and select "None: Never use surround sound".  And then see if that helps.  If that doesn't help, you can put it back, and then try the following.  settings->device preferences->Decode and Bitstream->Audio device and select "Decode" instead of passthrough.  If the box/app tries to pass a stream to your soundbar which it does NOT know how to process, you will get nothing.  With this option, the P6 will process it.

I have not tried any NVMe drive yet.  I do have a few new Kingston KC3000 drives and I think I still have an older Samsung 960 Pro lying around.  I'll get around to plugging one in one of these days 🙂

Nice catch, I didn't even notice that.  i would never format as internal.  The day it fails, you will need to reset the box probably.  And if you you ever want to extract files from the NVMe, you won't be able to.

I always use external/removable because a reset won't affect it
