So I just installed a classic.. no matter what I do or change it doesn’t record.. I can try and record what I’m watching.. no go.. schedule a recording no go.. recording to internal.. yes I have multiple connections. And it’s running this firmware V20240202

When you say no go, do you get some sort of error message ?

What login type you using ?  MAC/XC/M3U ?  I'm assuming it is not MAC since you said you have multiple connections.  Did you check to see if the box is recognizing that you have multiple connections (from LiveTV menu->settings->account info - what does it say for connections) ?
