kr16 Posted Tuesday at 11:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:51 PM OK, everything seems to work now. Buzz support made newer firmware available for the box - it is now 20220919 After initial portal setup, TV Series came up working just fine. Thank you for support - greatly appreciated ! Mike Quote

kr16 Posted Wednesday at 12:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:17 AM Correct. IPTV ver. 5.0.766 20220919 still kind of seems "dated" - I asked support if I can go any further or this is it. Quote
dishuser Posted Wednesday at 12:24 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:24 AM https://stbtalk.com/forum/42-xr4000-xrs4000/ press menu/settings/check updates there's not newer firmware than wht you currently have but there is newer software 1 Quote
Emporium Posted Wednesday at 12:58 AM Posted Wednesday at 12:58 AM After it finishes updating, you should be at 5.0.946 I believe, which was released to public about 2 weeks ago. As I had mentioned in my previous post, it will take a few updates before it is complete Quote
dishuser Posted Wednesday at 01:14 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:14 AM Android 9 must be running V937 to receive this update Quote

Thx again. Firmware updates and app updates are separate We no longer do Firmware updates for your model, but we still do Buzz 5 App updates And V946 is the latest version that just came out this month 2 Quote
BHbomber Posted Wednesday at 11:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:37 PM So I was having pretty much the same problem as VOD TV shows said stream unavailable but movies would work. I followed all the steps to upgrade to BuzzTV 5 but it won't go too v946...its still on v937. And now all the VOD says media format not supported. I'm on XRS4500 Quote

I'm on XRS4500 If you upgraded from 766 to 937 It takes about 20-30 minutes before the update will appear for 946 And you can try changing the player in configuration menu for the error message Menu Settings Configuration VOD + TV Series Video Player Change it from Primary to Backup Quote

The media player was on backup so I switched to primary and there was no change. I tried external and I had the choice of VLC or Media Player. I tried Media Player but it stuck on loading video. VLC said something about the location. It was a fast error message. Is there another player I can use? Quote
Emporium Posted Thursday at 12:50 AM Posted Thursday at 12:50 AM From LiveTV, try hitting the MENU button on remote, Settings->Check Updates. For external player, I have seen that VLC error before. And not only on buzz boxes. Very bizarre. IT can't seem to find the path. I have a few players installed including MX Player and HB Player. Also, quick question, are you SURE it is not your provider with VOD section being down right now ? I know one of the old classic popular server (starting with an "O") has all their VOD down at the moment. So no matter what you do, it won't make a difference till they fix it on server end. 1 Quote

It is very possible that the server starting with an "O" is the problem as that's what I'm connected to. I guess it's a waiting game for me for them to fix it on their end. Thanks for the info. Quote

Not specific to buzz. "Sometimes" an uninstall and reinstall fixes the issue, sometimes it is pretty stubborn. I have since switched to using HBplayer, because it is simple, lightweight and just works. MX Player also works well. 1 Quote
nbs. Posted Thursday at 10:30 PM Posted Thursday at 10:30 PM Yes the service that starts with an o is having issues with their vod Quote
