That did it, unplugged the box, plugged it back in and left it reboot, went back in to check for updates and sure enough it downloaded a small update. I now have version 5.0.769

I did that also, but it is saying I am on the latest update, but I know the latest update is version 5.0.767 Is there any reason it will not update me to the latest version? (version 5.0.767)

Yes I did, I thought by entering 2015 again after updating to Buzz 5 it would update again to the version 5.0.767 that I have on my XRS4500 MAX.

Are all the Buzz 5 updates for the XRS4500 the same version? The reason I am asking is because on my XRS4500 MAX my version is 5.0.767 but on my XRS4500 it is only version 5.0.653. And my XRS4500 was just updated to Buzz 5 this afternoon but my XRS4500 MAX was updated last week, why wouldn't they both be 5.0.767?

That was a VERY good price for the XRS4500 Max with 2 remotes! I just checked Amazon and they don't have that price now.

You will be very happy with it, for the difference in price between the XRS4500 and the XRS4500 Max I think you made a very good choice ! Since I upgraded mine from the Buzz 4 operating system to Buzz 5 operating system I can record anything even with the box turned off. The box will wake up and record what I have scheduled to record. With the XRS4500 Max and its 128GB storage you will be able to record hundreds of programs!

I think the XRS4500 2022 comes with the new BT-300 remote instead of the BT-100 remote, that is the only difference I know of.

Do you want to record Live TV programs or record VOD? If you do out of the 3 you have listed I would go with the XRS4500 Max

Does anyone know if the BT-100 or BT-200 remote will work with the U5 box? The BT-400 will not work the way I need it to (don't want it to control the TV on & off). I am using the IR-200 remote to control the U5 right now and it operates the way I need it to, but the IR-200 remote is not backlite, I would like to get a backlite remote.

Anyone know where on Buzz5 you can do a backup on the U5 box? I can't find anywhere on the system where is is allowing you to do a backup or restore. Or am I missing it somewhere?

Unless I am looking at the wrong place, the Buzz 5 I just installed today it is saying my firmware version is: V20220106 This is on a XRS4500 MAX box.

I just switched mine over from Buzz 4 to the Buzz 5 and thought I had a big problem. It just keep going in a loop and telling me the Buzz 5 app was not working. I did a hard reboot 2 times with no change. I finally got into settings and cleared cache, rebooted with no change. The next time I got into settings I cleared cache again and this time I also cleared data, rebooted and it now was working properly! The only thing I had to do was put in all my server settings and setup all my favorite channels again (bit of a PITA) but it is all working GREAT right now! Right now I am trying to do a scheduled recording with the box turned off in the suspend mode, I want to see if the box turns on and records, If it can do that I will be VERY HAPPY because my XRS4500 Max never would record a program more then about 5 to 10 minutes. In about an hour I will let you know how I make out with the recording. WAHOO this box is working GREAT! The box woke up and recorder the show I had scheduled with one button push. This is the first time since I bought my XRS4500 Max that it ever recorded a complete program. These guys did a GREAT job on the Buzz 5 app, At this time I highly recommend switching from Buzz 4 to Buzz 5!!

Emporium, That is good to know, then it must be something to do with the U5 box that I am sure they can fix in the future.

dishuser, Are you saying on other Buzz TV boxes running Buzztv 5 the suspend shut off mode turns the box off like it did in the buzztv 4 app and when you start back up you go right back to where you were before you shut down? If that is what you are saying then yes it must just be a bug in the U5 that I hope they can fix in the future.

Yes I always liked the suspend mode like it was on the Buzz4 app. When you shut down in the suspend mode in Buzz 4 app it completely turned the box off, saved some electric and also gave the box a chance to cool down also. And I liked as soon as you turned it back on you were right back to where you stopped it. But I will say the recording features in the Buzz 5 app works GREAT !! In the Buzz 4 app it never worked any good at all. lol

nbs, the main bug I have right now is this will not let you shut down in the suspend mode, the only way you can shut down is in the shut down mode. I always liked to shut down in the suspend mode because when I start up again it goes right to the channel I was watching when I shut down. I needed to go to the IR 200 remote to get everything setup to work like I wanted it to. With the BT400 remote every time I would shut down, the TV would go off, and when I turned the TV on to watch my cable box the Buzz U5 would turn back on even though I did not turn it on with the BT400 remote. With the IR200 remote everything is working like I want it to.

Now I want to see it it turns on and records the program I have set to record at 5PM then shuts off after it records for an hour. If it can do that I will be very happy with it. It seems like they have quite a few bugs to work out in the U5 yet, I wish these would have been all worked out before it was put on sale being this is the highest price box they are selling.

GREAT by turning the CEC switch off that seemed to work! Now the U5 turns off without turning my TV off, that is just what I wanted! THANK YOU dishuser!!
