I "thing" the beta list on 4000 devies was reset at one point (I think after buzztv 5 was no longer considered beta for the 4000 series).  I was on beta on my 4900 also for ages, and now it is also at public (.799).   My X5 however is on latest beta (so way past .799)

    ya I'm 89 versions higher...lol

You know, it IS possible to release incremental updates that are tested and stable more frequently like most other tech companies do. Not criticizing their release schedule but the excuse of testing for stability being the cause of longer intervals isn't necessarily valid.

    how is not valid?

    you complain about no update

how many would complain if an untested update was pushed?

I agree with you. There should be more updates for these boxes. It's like they pop a couple updates out and just leave it that way. There is alot of stuff that I would change or new stuff I would do. I think they abandoned this box.

    what's stopping you?

  4. I think when vlc was created it was for mac, linux and windows os

libvlc is so it can be added to any platform or app so of course features will change according to developer since vlc is open source as in buzztv app or an android app

Thanks for the feedback,  my 4900 unit has same 5.0.799 so at this point I will contact BuzzTV techs and see what they suggest, I do want to say also that when trying to watch VOD movies using the Primary Player, the same error message appears " Media format not Supported" . Switching to "Backup" Player for the VOD,s correct the issue.

So now i'm curious if your unit is also using Backup Player for VOD movies or is the Primary setting working.

I use primary for livetv and backup or external for vod/tv series

backup is a default setting for vod/tv series and primary is default for livetv

    why mess with default settings?
