  1. The box does NOT include any IPTV service.  You need to buy a subscription for that.

    And before you ask, we do NOT discuss specific services in this forum.  You will need to find that in another forum.

     

  2. First of all, stop mentioning the service name.  That is RULE #1.

    Secondly, did you VERIFY that there is no "space" in the URL ?  Android on screen keyboard, has a tendency to add spaces after a ".".  I have tested out the same service in the past and it works fine on any Buzz box.
    I don't know if something has changed since I tested it, but last I used it, I don't think that service required a username/password.  It was just the Portal URL, and I gave my MAC to the provider (MAC is on the top right - "Server ID" which starts by 00:1A:79).   You do not need to check the checkbox for "user credentials"
    Also, when I mentioned for the reset, it was NOT to reset your box.  It is a reset on your account that the reseller does on their panel.

    Je ne sais pas si quelque chose a changé depuis que je l'ai tester, mais la dernière fois que je l'ai utilisé ce service, je ne pense pas que ce service nécessitait un nom d'utilisateur/mot de passe.  C'était juste l'URL du portail, et j'ai donné mon MAC au fournisseur (le MAC est en haut à droite - "Indentifiant du serveur" qui commence par 00:1A:79).   Vous n'avez pas besoin de cocher la case "informations d'identification de l'utilisateur".

    De plus, lorsque j'ai mentionné d'un réinitialisation, il ne s'agissait PAS de réinitialision de votre boîte.  C'est une réinitialisation de votre compte que le revendeur fait sur son panneau. 

     

     

  3. If you had this service on another box (or tried it on something like STBemu on another box), you will need to ask your provider to do a RESET on you account.  The account "marries" itself to a box the first time it connects.

    For MAC, I assume you gave your provider the "Server ID" that is on the top right of your screen starting with 00:1A:79...

  4. Welcome to the forums.

    First think you can try is to take the M3U URL your provider gave you and enter it in a Web Browser on your PC.  If it is valid, your browser should prompt you to download a .m3u file.

    Secondly, when entering the URL into the box, make sure there are no spaces.  The Android keyboard has a tendency of trying to auto correct and adding a space after a "." all the time.  Those extra spaces will make for an invalid URL.  Also keep in mind that the username and password, which is embedded in the M3U URL is case sensitive.

    Thirdly, if you are entering this for the first time, and you have a PC at home that is on the same network as your box, the easiest way is to use your PC browser.  When you are on your X5 box, in the server screen, on the top right (under your Server ID) you will see that it says something to the effect of "http://192.168.x.y:8090" where x and y can vary depending on your network.  Leave the X5 at that screen and go to your PC and type that URL into your browser.   You should see a very basic screen which allows you to "Add server".  Give the server a name (can be whatever you want (ex: "service 1"), change the Server type drop-down to "M3U".  Now you can enter the Server URL your provider gave you (and XML EPG url if they gave you one), into the spots below.  To ensure no typo, you can even cut and paste it from the email or message you got.  Once you click SAVE server, you should see the entry appear under the M3U section, you can select it, to try to connect.

    It's not a "boot up sequence".  It is just a "status message" telling you what it is doing 🙂  Personal taste, but I prefer to know what it is doing, instead of just waiting for it to do it's stuff in the background with no idea what it is doing.   It's not like it takes forever to do it anyhow.   And if you use fast login (as DU mentions), it does make it pretty quick for most portals (you barely even have a chance to read what it says).

  6. This sounds like one of 2 things.    

    Either the service is having issues with it's servers.   Or your MAC has been compromised and the reason you re being bumped is because someone else is also connected to your account.

    For MAC, you can change it if you'd like (Buzz recently brought back the option to change it).  Going from memory, I believe when you are in the MAC server screen (where it shows all your MAC servers), you highlight the one you want to change and then I believe it is the blue button to edit (you can check the bottom color legend)   You can then change a few pairs of hex digits (0-9,A-F) at the end of your MAC  (which starts with 00:1A:79:xx:xx:xx).   Do not change the 00:1A:79 part since some servers will only accept MACs which start with that.  Once you change it, ask your reseller to change the MAC in your panel to match what you changed it to.

  7. You can try reformatting it and see if it happens again.  It should not regardless of the formatting, so something did happen.  Yes, the 80MB/s should be enough. 

    I don't think the intention of the sd card addition was primarily for this use.  The sd card is helpful for recovery purposes (since it is the easiest way to reflash the box when things go bad).  Hopefully most people do not need it.

    But, also be careful if you are using the card for other features, like timeshift (which writes continuously to the card).  sd cards are not designed to be continuously written to, unless they are "high endurance" type.  And not sure how every sd card handles multi-theaded writes (actually more like 2 processes writing to it at the same time - timeshift - and possibly recording).  In the past when I used to try that on older miniPCs, it was a recipe for corrupted filesystems and things hanging/glitching regularly as it would timeout on the writes 🙂

  8. But VPN is something to test with for sure as DU recommended.  

    Some ISP are silently implementing throttling to many known services.  I have 2 customers,same ISP, that have 3 services each.. And all of a sudden one day on one of the services only, both started getting all sorts of buffering.   Enable VPN, and all buffering gone for both of them.  Sounds like ISP throttling to me (same ISP, different parts of town, same IPTV service and started buffering at same time, no issues with other services, and 2 different VPN services and it bypasses the throttling issues).

I don't know what happened (and no one will be able to tell for sure).  I have never had an issue with directories vanishing.  However I always completely discourage the use of SD cards for recording purposes on media boxes.  The card itself may be fast enough, but I am not sure (and never saw it in the specs) on what speeds the slot on the box is designed for.  Obviously speed is not the issue here, but not sure what happened.

    I would strongly recommend getting a decent quality USB key (USB 3) instead, they are pretty cheap nowadays.  Also formatting it on a PC using exFAT (which ensures you'll be able to properly download files of >4GB) before installing it on the box (and ensure to connect it to the Blue USB3 port, not the black USB2 port).

    Just to be more precise, PVR recordings are typically under the Android/media/buzztvxr4000.tv directory.

    I have one of these flash drives that I picked up from a local big box store and it works great.  256GB (plenty of space - maybe too much for some, but I find it is the sweet spot for $/GB), and the Tiny form factor means it is not protruding.

    Yes, that is what I mean.  I used to buy one of my services from another seller.  Then when I got my own panel, at expiry all I did was change the username/pass, and everything remained intact.

    Editing credentials, I have done it, and you don't lose them. 

    But creating new server entry, mine have always started from scratch.  Maybe I had a typo on something which triggered a new entry.

    Didn't say thy would "lose" them.  But if they create a new server entry, it will not have all the favorites he had configured in the original server entry (sorry, clarification.. that is for XC API and M3U).  IF you are using MAC server, depending on the client/app and server you are using, favorites might be stored on the server side, so that way you would still see your favorites even if you use a different server entry as long as the MAC remains the same (which it would in this case).

     

  14. Try maybe creating another server entry on the 4900 for the same portal/user/pass, and see if you connect with the new profile if it is any better.

    Sure you won't hav all your favorites and stuff for now, but at least we'll see how deep the problem may be. 

    You sure the 4000 is not running on a cached EPG ?  I don't want you to clear the EPG on that just in case however.  I know my service has 7 days EPG, so even if their EPG server goes down for a few days, unless I reset my EPG, I am OK for a few days and won't even notice (unless my box was off for a few days and didn't have an up to date EPG already).  Sure there is no issue with provider ?

    Account is MAC or XC API ?   If XC API, in configuration options, you can switch between xml epg and server epg, can you try switching from one to the other.. Then clear EPG again and see if it populates ?

  15. You download it from a PC, and copy it to a USB stick.

    When you go to the link, you will see a green "download" button on bottom right, you click on it, it will initialize and go through the download process and you will see the progress line.  When complete, it will popup for you to save it to your PC or you can save it direct to a USB if one is connected.

     

  16. Swap the location of the 2 boxes to make sure it is not a connectivity issue with cable/switch.

    I once had an issue and it turned out to be a defective few ports on a dlink crappy switch.  Needless to say, never again with dlink junk.

    Agreed.   And what I am trying to figure out, is do they only have 1 box (and just moved it to another room - since they say it worked fine in the other room), or do they have a second box in the other room, and they are trying to get both boxes working with the same service and cloned MAC ?   

    Now I am starting to remember why they at one point removed the option to edit MAC 🙂

    If you check for updates, does it not update to (352) ?

    If not, let me know and I can PM you the link to the last update apk which should bring it to 352 (but you will have to put it on a USB stick and install it).

    And when du asked if you asked the service to do a reset, he did not mean to reset your box.. But the Service provider needs to do a reset on their panel.  As soon as you change something on your box, the service needs to reset your account.  And you can't use the same MAC on 2 different boxes.. Every time you use one box, it will lock out the other.  There is more than just a MAC involved and on the xpl3000 you do not have access to DeviceID 1, DeviceID2 and serial numbers, which are sent along with your MAC to the provider.

    If so, then it is obviously not the box the issue.   Something in your room (WiFi or ethernet) is the issue if it is timing out.  If using WiFi, box can be too close to the wall with signals bouncing, or other interference.   If it is Ethernet, then check the cables (connect to a laptop or something to confirm).

Keep in mind that the xpl3000 is a relatively old box (> 5 years old).  And BuzzTV 2 is not being actively updated.    If your server is using some more recent feature on their portal, it is possible it would not be compatible with the older BuzzTV 2 software.   Not saying that is the case, but it is quite possible. 

    Did you try using other apps on the box to see if it is truly connected and it is not a network connection issue ?  I think this is the first thing to ensure.

    If using MAC based sub, you can try installing and using STBEmu on the box as a test, or for other types (like XC API), you can can try "smarters".

  21. Guess we'll see if anyone else has any input.  On my side, I could not replicate your current issues with the powerbeats.   Like I said, I tried 3 different BT earphones and all work with both Buzztv 5 apps and other 3rd party apps.

    Since I don't have any powerbeats, I cannot confirm if the issue is specific to the beatspro, or some setting on the U5 that is different between your U5 setup and mine.  Mine is a pretty close to factory reset config (since I reset regularly for testing purpoes), and I do most of my testing on this device on a generic monitor (so no CEC or anything other active).

    If you don't have too much customization, maybe backing up your servers and favorites (not settings - since it may be a settings issue) and then trying a factory reset (hardware pin method) could be an option/test.  Can then easily restore your servers/favorites  (just make sure you have the backup zip file [with non 0 file size] on a usb stick, before resetting).  If you have access to any other BT earphones or BT speaker, that could also be a possible test also.

    Just curious, in the BuzzTV setting->Configuration, have you enabled any of the options "Real Time Streaming" or "Tunneled Playback" ?   Have you tried switching the Stream Format to see if it makes a difference ?

     

     

  22. In menu->settings->configuration, you can change your players (for liveTV and vod).  For VOD, you even have the option to select "external player" including VLC.

    Only thing I can think of, is to try to "forget"/"unpair" them and try to re-pair them from scratch.

    I have tried 3 different earphones and no issues with any of them of them.

  23. Even VOD and TV Series ?  Same thing ?

    Have you tried configuring an External player for VOD to see if it works ?

    I'm assuming when you don't have headphones paired, the sound for all apps including BuzzTV works fine over TV speaker system ?

    When you are watching a LiveTV channel, and you press the Green button in full screen, what Audio options are there ?  Is there an audio track showing and selected ?
