  1. For many drivers (including network), you are at the mercy of the chipset vendors.  And historically network drivers are a mess with "sleep" or "Hibernate" options.  Your combination of hardware (router, switches, dhcp server setting [like lease times], etc..) may be making the issue worse, but with very few exception, using sleep in many of these media boxes is always a toss of a coin, and eventually you need to do a reboot to ensure things are clean.

So personally, for the last decade on ALL of my media boxes, if possible, I select that they go into proper shutdown mode instead of sleep/suspend.  Sure it take an extra 30 seconds to boot, but at least you know things were all freshly initialized t each boot.

  2. First thing you can do is post in the correct section for your box, and not hijack a 3 month old thread which is irrelevant to your issue.

Then provide more info, like exact model of box you are using (there are a few different X5 models).  You Software version (5.0.xxx), firmware version (V202xxxxxxx).  Why type of subscription you are using MAC, XC, M3U ?

Have you tried using a VPN service ?  Many ISP are blocking iptv streams lately and worse during prime time peak hours.

Start a NEW thread, and include the pertinent info.  Please do NOT continue it in this thread.

  3. Has nothing to do with the box.

That is the nature and limitation of a MAC connection and all servers I know can only do single connection with a MAC based server.  Keep in mind that a MAC is supposed to be a unique identifier for a device, and as such, the servers were designed to only handle a single physical connection for each device.   Subscriptions using the XC (Xtreme Codes) API are different, they uses a username/password combination and therefore don't have such a limitation.  Just like you can log into your favourite website from multiple devices, it is the same for XC.  And they implement the connection limitation on the server to allow a certain number of connections, depending on how much you pay.

The primary server I use, allows 2 simultaneous connections by default when using XC API.  And has the option for 4 or 6 connections (at an extra cost) for those who need that.

  4. It all depends on your provider.  This will not work if you have a MAC type subscription, since your service needs to offer multiple connections.

With an XC API type connection you can have the option for multiple simultaneous connections.  You can check what yours has by going into the menu->settings->account info.  And you can see the max connections vs active connections (if your account/service has multiple connection options).  Keep in mind to record something while watching something else, you need to have at least 2 under max connections, since you need 1 stream for the recording, and 1 stream for your live TV.

There is already a thread dedicated to P6 wishlist.

And I had already requested this feature 🙂

  6. Even it it did work, if I recall correctly with the P6 (BT500) the voice function only works outside of the buzztv app (I did very limited testing on voice functionally).  So mostly commands from home screen.  It's quicker to just use the remote to navigate anywhere I want for the amount time it would take to speak the command 🙂

Not particularly useful in my opinion.  Don't expect Alexa, Google or Siri type of interaction with any of the boxes.

  7. Does it show up under settings/storage ?  IF it does not show up at all under storage, then it is quite possible the drive is dead.  And possibly that may be the reason things were behaving strangely if there were links to the drive it was trying to resolve, but drive was not there.

  8. Have you tried rebooting your router ?   Quite possible that it is the DHCP server on your router that is acting up and not issuing an IP.  Have seen that a few times, especially with older Dlink routers.  By unplugging and re-plugging it in, it forces it to make another request.  If you unplug the power from the box and plug it back in, does it also fix the problem ?

Do you have your box set for suspend or shutdown ?

From home screen, go to settings (gear icon on top), then select BuzzTV Utilities, and then Power Options.  The setting you want to check is "Power Off Mode".  Is it set to suspend or shutdown ?   If you keep going into suspend, eventually things can get messed up.  Do yourself a favor and change that to shutdown.  Sure it takes an extra 30 seconds to power up the box every time, but this way you will always have a clean boot.   It's like Microsoft Windows.  If you keep putting your machine to sleep mode all the time, eventually it will start doing strange things and you will be forced to reboot anyhow 🙂

  9. X5 SS connected to the SAME location and cable as your X5 ?  Swapped positions ?  At least if you swap locations of the boxes you will be able to tell if the issue follows the BOX, or if the issue follows the connection location.

If it follows the box, then use the backup/restore function of BuzzTV 5 to backup your servers and favorites to a USB stick.  Then try a hard reset as recommended by Ryu above.

oui et je sait que ma connection internet n est pas defectueuse

Nobody said your internet connection is defective.  Obviously since your computer works, your internet connection is fine.

BUT, it may not be your X5 with the defective ethernet port.  It may be your cable which is defective, or maybe even the port on your switch/router which your X5 is connected to.    Have you tried power cycling your network switch to ensure it is not partitioning out the port if it potentially detected something odd on the other end.  It would not be the first time that I have had a network switch decide to shutdown some ports and eventually fail completely.

Now, everything in my home, including all my buzz boxes, are connected through a UPS.  I have at least 10 in the house and every 5 or 6 years I really hate that battery bill 😞  But at least all my equipment is protected from brown outs (which are worse) and surges.

  11. Disney is similar to netflix in terms of certification 😞

For M3U, check the typing.  Sometimes the on screen keyboard will add a space after a "." automatically, which can be annoying.  Or you can use a PC or your phone that is on the same network to enter the M3U file path.  Just go to the URL shown at the top right of the "server screen" on the buzz box, and you can enter your M3U url from the web page.

I use many M3U lists, and have no issues with them.

  12. You trying to install it from Google Play store ?   If so, use the Aptoide Store.

But you can blame Netflix for that. They only allow the AndroidTV version to be installed on netflix certified devices (like firestick, shield, onn boxes, some mii Box devices, etc..).  Even if you install it back on a buzz box, you will need to use the mouse cursor to control it (since netflix considers it a generic android device, and therefore not certified), which is not very convenient.

I hope Netflix was not the primary reason for purchasing this box.  Box is designed primarily for IPTV use.

  13. No issues here.

Have you tried doing a factory reset of the remote ?

    https://buzztv.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/BT-500_manual_v3.pdf

If you wish to factory reset your remote to erase all settings press
and hold the D-Pad Down button and the 0 (Zero) button for 4
seconds until it blinks 3 times to indicate the remote is factory reset

You will need to re-pair it again afterwards, but it is worth a shot.

i understand, but it's such a nice device. How about the red-green-yellow-blue buttons? can they register usb keys?

    Thanks!

IF you have a driver that can interpret it, then YES, the colored keys are send over RF to the USB dongle which then is read by the USB interface.

But don't expect any support in getting those keys interpreted by your device and even more so, getting them to turn on your PC.  You are better off using some WOL option to turn on a machine.  I used to do it ages ago.  Had PC configured for WOL, and had a small app on my phone which would wake it up.

  15. "TV Power" and "Source"buttons, I am pretty sure are IR only.  They are designed as IR Learning buttons which you can program to most IR functions from your TV remote.

The remote is designed to be used primarily with Buzz TV media boxes, so what would be the purpose of having the TV Power and Source buttons to transfer over USB, when they are not intended to be interpreted by your Buzz Box anyhow.

  16. Pretty sure most boxes come with TeamViewer installed.  You can use that.

Butting adding portal and stuff on Buzz boxes is so simple.  Even guided seniors (non-tech savvy) through the task and it wasn't that difficult..

  17. I'd stick with name brands.  Speed is not going to make a huge difference for recording purposes.  5000MBps or 7000MBps you probably won't notice a difference on recording or playback.

Samsung, Kingston, Crucial, WD should be fine.   And if you can find a model withing these brands which has a heatsink or heat spreader, even better, since the unit is not actively cooled.  Don't get their cheapest model line.

I personally use a Kingston KC3000 1TB in my unit, which has a low profile heat spreader.  Not the cheapest model around, but figured I did not want any hassles.  Not that I worry about losing any recording, but it is just something that can be cause other glitches if you use it for TS also.

I originally started with a Samsung 980 Pro 500GB (which worked well also), but since I had the Kingston left over from another project, decided to just swap it in.

  18. My Remote firmware is V07 which will be released with the soon to be released P6 update.

However I just checked and the functionality is there.. But it my be a little non-obvious, since the pointer remains on the screen initially.

If I press pointer key on the remote, the pointer/cursor comes onscreen and I can control it with the dpad to move it around.  IF I press the pointer key again, the pointer/cursor does NOT go away on screen, but as soon as I press the dpad in either direction, the pointer/cursor goes away and the dpad controls the usual way again.

    how is that funny?

IMO it's pathetic, so far from being funny

Very fine line between funny and sad.

Don't know what kind of help people expect with postings like that, in a generic category which is not even related to hardware.

  20. Glad it is back up.  Something obviously got corrupted.  Unfortunately if it is not something we can replicate, so it is hard to "correct" the unknown.

If it happens again, I would consider temporarily leaving the nvme out of the box for a while, to see if it is potentially the source of the issue.  Not all nvme drives are created equal.
