allinghj Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 ...what causes freezing? Is it the STB? the household wifi quality? the subscription? Without knowing, I don't know where to start. Quote
Ryu Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 so far what have you done to troubleshoot? 1 Quote
Emporium Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Could be everything you mentioned and other stuff. STB Hardware/Software WiFi quality (can test by trying to use an Ethernet cable) Internet provider throttling (can sometimes overcome by using a VPN) The service itself (subscription) (can test by trying a different service - they are pretty cheap) Sometimes just one of the sources used by the service is having issues (not much you can do other than changing services) Quote
allinghj Posted January 27, 2023 Author Posted January 27, 2023 Checked my speed and it's only 104 Mps so I'll look for a faster speed. Quote
Emporium Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 104Mbps should be plenty. Most of my buddies use 60Mbps (and so did I for a while) and no issues. Most streams are 5 to 11 Mbps, unless you are doing true 4k streams and even then, it depends. But if you are connected via WiFi, then stability is more of an issue than speed. 1 Quote
Ryu Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 I have only 8 Mbps and most works fine for me Quote
Pauly Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Majority of the time when a channel freezes it is a CRAPPY STREAM. remember, the stream uses the upload bandwith of the person who is pirating the signal, and we all know the upload bandwith is crap in Canada. Quote
