BigDaddyO Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I've tried STBEmu in the past. Didn't like the way it functioned. If that's what I have to do then I have a problem with that because Buzz5 should work correctly. 1 Quote
Emporium Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 It's just to test and see if the problem is the portal/service or Buzz. Sometimes servers make changes to the portal that have adverse effects on some devices. Not saying STBEmu is you permanent solution. It is just to test and pinpoint the source if the issue. Yes BuzzTV5 should work correctly. 1 Quote
BigDaddyO Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) Understood, I'll give it a try. Edited January 7, 2023 by BigDaddyO Quote
SINNER Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I was having same trouble connecting today while setting up XR4500 for someone. Tried 2 different boxes and both giving me same error. Brand new XR4500 running Buzz5 all up-to-date . Cheers, Quote
Emporium Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 You say "was" having.. Does this mean you figured out the problem ? Does that portal work with STBEmu (assuming it is a MAC bases sub) ? Just curious. You pic is blanked out, but it looks like there is some sort of URL redirections. Maybe it is something in the redirections that it does not like. IF you try with STBEmu and can confirm it works, then you'll probably have to wait till Monday when the dev is back online. But if you can provide any test results with STBEmu to ensure it works with that, then it would make it easier to try to reproduce. Quote

BigDaddyO Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Update to my post 22 hrs ago. I ran the M3U connection last night and it worked flawlessly. Watched the Leafs kick the Red Wings butt. I downloaded STBEmu and tried to connect to my sub for MAC server and it wouldn't connect. I contacted my provider because I thought he may have disconnected my MAC when I requested the M3U service login. I requested a one day trial so I could runs some tests. Unfortunately he supplied me with a URL for a different server than the one I had previously which kind of makes my test invalid because I'm am know longer testing the server that the problems were caused on. I requested the same server but he persisted in having me try the different one. So I set up the new server profile in STBEmu and ran it. Programming came on right away. Changed channels flawlessly. Did not see any freezing or hesitation. I exited STBEmu and switched to Buzz5, set up MAC server with the same URL as STBEmu. The result was this "Cannot load portal: Incorrect username or password". Just to be sure that Buzz5 was not locking me out of the server I ran STBEmu again and it came on with no problems. I think this says it all. Also, I my case resetting the MAC doesn't work. Quote

The fact that you got a new service and ran it with STBEmu first, may have locked the service to STBEmu (lock on serial number, Device ID1 or DeviceID2, Client type, etc..). So you need to disconnect STBEmu, then have them reset the MAC, and then once confirmed, then try it on the Buzz. Some servers will lock onto some aspect of the first conenction in order to protect the users from getting their accounts hijacked. Anyhow, the Dev is back on Monday usually, he may ask you for some more details on which server, etc.. 1 Quote
7leaves Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 In the future, first thing to check for when you get, 'Cannot Load Portal' error, is that there is no space at the end of your Server URL. Check that. 1 Quote
SINNER Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Quote ask your reseller to reset your mac on panel or confirm url Quote Contact your service I'm the reseller.... That is my Service... And no I didn't not try the Emu...Because I have many other Buzz and non Buzz boxes running at my place and none had the same problem. End up giving it to the customer like that didn't ear from them yet soo I assume is working now or they never shut down the box yet. Cheers, Quote
