Ajs007 Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 XRS4900 keeps notifying of available update , version 20220718 , OTA update sent on August 29, 2022. After download this version does not load do to error. I notice that the iptv version (5.0.748) in 20220718 is most likely older than the iptv version (5.0.765) in current loaded firmware 20220506, which may be creating the error. Can this be fixed or do we just live with the notifications until a future update? Anyone else have similar problem? Quote
Ajs007 Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 Update not upoate. I should learn to spell check. Quote
Emporium Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Agreed that the BuZZTV version is older, but the Firmware version is newer (20220718 vs your 20220506). So odds are that it will update you to 20220718 firmware with older version 5.0.748 of BuzzTV5 and then after reboot there will be an OTA update to bring you up to back to 5.0.765 or 766. Are you by any chance short of internal storage space ? 1 Quote
Ajs007 Posted September 15, 2022 Author Posted September 15, 2022 No problem with internal storage space. A hard reboot never fixed the problem either. 20220718 firmware downloads and when it installs it gets to about 20% then error. Could the problem be firmware version 20220718? Does anyone have this version installed? Quote
Emporium Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Hmm.. Very strange.. Here is one of my 4900 boxes.. My firmware is still at V20220106, but I do have the latest BuzzTV 5 (5.0.766). For BuzzTV, the latest is 5.0.766 (at least as of yesterday). But have no clue on the later firmware versions (20220506 and 20220718 ) that you show as having and attempting to update to. I think we'll have to wait for @allaboutbuzzto comment on this one. Quote

Emporium Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 OK.. So the 3 of us have V20220106, and BuzzTV 5 (5.0.766) on our xrs4900 boxes. So it is strange how Ajs007 is showing something more recent (installed 20220506, and 20220718 being offered as update). 1 Quote
dishuser Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 what's weird to me is the firmware they're running is exactly 4 months newer...lol Quote
Ajs007 Posted September 16, 2022 Author Posted September 16, 2022 Seems that I may have to take it to manufacturer. Perhaps a glitch somehow? With the current version being (5.0.765) and current loaded firmware 20220506, I get the coloured menu buttons to show up that I have only seem on the X5 and HD5 series. No sign of the Buzz remote app though, so new remotes only work as BT300. Funny, now the yellow is missing. Quote
dishuser Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 those coloured button options have been there for a while by the way yellow is for tv series Quote
Emporium Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 (edited) You can probably do a manual installation using the file from here, and then you would be able to do a typical OTA update. BUT before doing that, I would day, wait for @allaboutbuzzto comment. Just in case there were is something we are not aware of. Edited September 16, 2022 by Emporium Quote
dishuser Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 it's been posted many times you can't downgrade firmware unless something has changed 1 Quote
Ajs007 Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 Problems are now solved. The XRS4900 now reads firmware version: 2022-0506 and iptv version: 5.0.768. All is good and the box is up to date. Buzz is the BEST! 1 Quote
Gary9 Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Ajs007 If you don't mind, could you tell us how your problem was solved? Quote

Ajs007 Posted September 27, 2022 Author Posted September 27, 2022 All I did was select update. and there was no more V20220718 available to download . I am currently running V20220506 with iptv version 5.0.769 and it is running perfectly. 1 Quote
