steelerzz Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 I seem to be have a real hard time with the PVR recording feature on the Buzz5 beta version. I am now able to record a tv program, but for some reason, any and all of any program I record, no matter the duration of it, be it a half hour, 1 hour or more, the recordings all complete and stop recording at the 00:30:05 min mark, so ony half an hour gets recorded. I have two different service providers, and have tried recording on both, and the same results happen for both. Any ideas. Quote
nbs. Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Are you recording from epg? One button or scheduling an hour Quote
steelerzz Posted February 23, 2022 Author Posted February 23, 2022 from epg, one button, not scheduiling Quote
nbs. Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 sounds like you may need to schedule it The guide might be breaking it up ill do some testing too later Quote
steelerzz Posted February 24, 2022 Author Posted February 24, 2022 have you tried the recording testing yourself yet? Quote
nbs. Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I've had no issues in the past but I will try epg recording tonight I've set one now for 9-10pm Quote
dishuser Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I set a recording from 8 until 9 plus extra 5 minutes only got 36 minutes I even checked channel at 55 minutes and rec was on Quote
dishuser Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I just scheduled back to back 30 minute episodes see what happens with that 1 Quote
steelerzz Posted February 24, 2022 Author Posted February 24, 2022 A friend of mine has had same issues as all of us when recording from the EPG, and he has a therory that perhaps may help solving this issue. What she has noticed is that the EPG is broken up in time blocks of half hour segments, and for that reason, when using the “one button set” record method, the “buzztv5 beta” code won’t or can’t instruct the PVR to record a whole program but only that block of 30min visible on the EPG! The recording function works fine when manually scheduling a time duration separating, so it seems to be an EPG & coding instruction issues. any thoughts, any possibility? Quote
dishuser Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 (edited) I have one button record off also set extra recording off Edited February 24, 2022 by dishuser Quote
dishuser Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 also when recording starts it's like I long pressed power button even though remote isn't near me Quote
nbs. Dave J Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 I realize this is an old thread but I am having the same issue (running on ver .706). I can't seem to get any recordings longer than 30 minutes. Have tried both secondary and default players, power options live TV and default, box standby or on, on selected channel, EPG and manual recording. With manual I tried both 45 and 1:15 minute settings but no luck. One button record is always set to off. I hadn't been able to really test this until the power option was fixed, but I know I've recorded in the past and it did work. Just not sure if that was before the beta. Quote
Dave J Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Did a hard reset this morning and re-did my PVR tests again. Regardless of the settings, I can't record anything longer than 30 minutes. Can someone offer any suggestions? Quote

Did a hard reset of my XRS4500 (running BuzzTV 4) yesterday, the update installed BuzzTV 5, now not able to record more than 30 mins anymore, as described by others in this thread. Tried first through EPG, then read allaboutbuzz post from Mar 2 and tried manual recording. The recording stops at 30 mins every time. The box is on, Live TV is on the channel I want to record. Any word on that fix? Quote

Dave J Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 After running a few tests the recording issues I had with the PVR are resolved, however when scheduling a delayed recording the box no longer comes out of standby to record the program. This was working previously. 1 Quote
trupillo Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Before the latest update my scheduled recordings worked for 2 hours I had scheduled It now it stops after 30 minutes ! Quote
dishuser Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I just finished a recording that was 2 hours and 9 minutes long it recorded the whole program 1 Quote
