Macman_ca Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I tried to do a recording last night on BuzzTv Powerstation 6 Unlimited and it kept failing. It couldn't see the internal storage or my WD NVME 2TB. I tried rebooting, I tried unseating the NVME no luck. The TV menu was also acting slow to go sideways. Any thoughts? Quote
Macman_ca Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Everytime I try to go onto settings/updates etc. the whole screen goes blue and kicks out to the default Home Screen. Can't tell. I do recall doing an update in the last week or so. Quote
Emporium Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Did you try removing the NVMe drive and see if the issues persist ? Maybe try doing a recording to the onboard storage first and see if that works. Quite possible that the nvme is toast. Would not be the first time 1 Quote
Macman_ca Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago it won't let me change where to record to. it freezes when I go to select storage. It isnt seeing the internal storage. I have to go back to main menu/guide. It is locking up for any recordings. Seems to be the box?? Quote
Macman_ca Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago yes, I have taken it out and rebooted it. Nothing different with it in or out. Quote
Emporium Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Definitely odd. I just checked and I have internal showing and "android" which is a small 250GB NVMe I have installed in it. And if you go to Settings->device Preferences->Storage you don't see the "Removable storage" ? HAVE YOU UNPLUGGED the POWER for 10 seconds on the box, instead of just power off/power on ? Macman_ca Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago when I go into device preferences, it shows internal storage of 242GB. if I go to updates, the whole screen blacks out and goes back to the home screen. when I put in the NVME it doesnt see it under device prefs. Did the box fry the NVME? since the box is acting weird?? how do I reset the box? Quote
Rudy Dominguez Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I had the same issue with screen blacking out and going back to home screen. I did a factory reset and issue no longer happens 3 Quote

Did the box fry the NVME? since the box is acting weird?? how do I reset the box? Hard Factory reset of P6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bnzmXNyXcg Maybe the NVMe is just corrupt. May need to be completely reformatted. I have an USB NVMe adapter and I typically format my drives on my PC before installing them on media players. I have this one: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09XWLGD48 But there are many cheaper ones available, like this one, which is under CAD$20. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CSVT8KF1 Just curious, was in possibly formatted as internal "device storage" instead of "Portable storage" ? Formatting as internal device storage can be a real pain in the b$tt. Android should do away with that concept in 2026. If it is formatted as internal device storage and then it gets corrupted somehow, it will corrupt the whole device. As "Portable Storage" it runs independently of the internal storage. Quote
Macman_ca Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago So I managed to do the factory reset and recording works to the internal storage. But it does look like my name is fried!!! Firmare : P6L 256 V20250815 1.0.281 Quote

Certain WD NVME require a Firmware update, because they just disappear/get deleted from the BIOS at random This happens on Windows even Look up a firmware update for your model, as this could be the case for you. WD released a Firmware update for this problem about a year ago You will need to connect it to a PC or MAC to do the Firmware update though. 3 Quote
