Guess Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Hi, I would like to know how to stop an IPTV moded app I installed keeps nagging me to update it and since it's moded why does it still do it? There should be a feature built in to the BuzzTV box to stop apps from updating. 2 Quote
Emporium Posted June 7 Posted June 7 You are funny. First of all, this has NOTHING to do with BuzzTV5. So you are in the wrong category. Secondly, you are so ignorant that you think that Buzz would help you (or anyone) circumvent another developers restrictions ? Buy the app (they are trying to make a living too), or use it as it was intended if there is a restricted free version. You don't like it, move on to something else. An app that does not go through the playstore and has access to the network (to play IPTV or anything else) will always be able to check for updates especially if the modder did not find and disable all the functions that do that. The OS has no way of knowing that the network access is for checking for updates. You are lucky it is not one of my apps that was modded. You don't even want to know what I did to systems when I detected a modded version of my app on them. Users become very familiar with factory resets pretty quick as their systems become slowly and surely more and more flaky 2 Quote
Guess Posted Tuesday at 01:18 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 01:18 PM Hello fellow haters, well on the Firestick and other Android boxes there is a built in feature to stop apps from nagging you to update/upgrade. So it is possible just not on the BuzzTV boxes. The BuzzTV people could add the feature to just like the rest because these IPTV streaming boxes/sticks are all using Android. Later Haters! 1 Quote

Guess Posted Tuesday at 06:14 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:14 PM I'm a jerk for asking a simple question? The forums are to help people who ask for help but I only get narcissist too cool for school replies and i'm the jerk. Dude you guys are the one who's funny. Anyways the app I have installed is not under the category app permissions/notification access. You say it is there to stop app updates but I don't see a toggle to stop apps from updating like other Anroid boxes. My BuzzTV box has Version 5 firmware. 1 Quote

Are the updates from the Play Store or Aptoide or are they built directly into the app? Trying to understand all of the details, so we can reproduce it Also which model # do you have? Quote
Guess Posted Tuesday at 07:01 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 07:01 PM Hi, you told me in private message to post my issue on the forum about the app I use for IPTV. The IPTV moded app I have keeps nagging me to update it. I did not download it from the Play Store or Aptoide. I have the XRS4500 box with version 5 firmware. Quote
Emporium Posted Tuesday at 08:31 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:31 PM If the IPTV modded app keeps nagging you to update, then the issue is with the modded app itself. It is not playstore or aptoide issue and not something that the buzz box can stop. If the app has access to the internet (obviously to stream) then it has access to it's own update servers to check if there is an update available. I also use many updated apps, and sometimes the modders miss certain functions and after some time, they trigger an update check. Some apps have a few different mods and some are better than others, and in some cases each has their own flaw. Wait for next version of modded app. There are other forums which discuss many modded apps, and often the modders themselves are replying to requests. 1 Quote

Ok Emporiums advice is good And 4500 is Android 9, so we have no way to update Firmware for that model anymore. 1 Quote

The reason they're replying to you like that is because this forum is to help people with the boxes they provide and their own built in app this forum is not meant for discussions pertaining to 3rd party apps I know you were just looking for a solution to your problem but I'm sure you can see why people wouldn't take kindly to you mentioning a third party app It's the same response you would get if you went into a discord group or telegram group for a particular app and started mentioning other apps that serve the same purpose If you choose to download 3rd party apps it is not buzz tv's responsibility to help you you're on your own when it comes to stuff like that trust me I understand why you asked the question and I'm not trying to argue with you I'm just trying to give you more of an explanation as to why you got the responses that you did 1 Quote
