BillR Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I would like to setup some recordings but the “Date” field is pre-set to 1970? I have searched high and low but I can’t find any way to set it other than 1970. Why is the year actually relevant for this? I can’t believe we’re supposed to hold the scroll button down to go through 55 years of time! Is there a fix for this? Quote
Emporium Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Is the time on your box actually set correctly ? Typically it will auto set the time, but maybe the auto time settings didn't work (some ISP block certain destinations (NTP is rarely blocked, but sometimes you never know) ? I just tried to set 2 manual recordings, and both ways (either from Main home page selecting PVR, or from LiveTV, selecting Menu and then PVR - which is essentially the same) and then selecting to create a new recording automatically filles in everything with the current date/time as start, and 1 minute later as the end time. If you are doing this some other way, please provide details. I know most people typically set up recording from the EPG, they just scroll, find the program they want in the future, and then press OK, which then prompts you if you want a reminder, to record, or return. Check the time on your box, and if that is set correctly, please post your firmware and software version on your box (should be in the updates screen). 1 Quote
BillR Posted May 9 Author Posted May 9 Yes, the system time/date is correct. I am trying to do a manual setup to record a show over a 5 day period. I create a manual recording by searching for the show and then select it in the list. Then I set the recording to record the show Monday thru Friday from 2 - 3 pm. When that is completed and I have saved the recording, when it minimizes, the recording time changes to 1 - 2pm. No matter what I do the time reverts back to 1 - 2pm. Then besides this when I tried to setup a single recording, this where I run into the problem with the year (1970) being set as the default. So in order for me to set the date I have to hold the up button to scroll thru 55 years worth of months. I really don’t think that is how it’s intended to work. I appreciate your help. dishuser Posted May 9 Posted May 9 try it on another iptv app to rule out the issue is on server side Quote
BillR Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 I’ve used the same server settings on two other iptv apps and they work fine. I have the system time set to auto. The regular time display is right on. It seems to me to possibly be a coding issue? 1 Quote

Can you try manually setting the time on the box, just as a test, and see if you try to manually create a recording (through PVR menu [or from pvr option from main screen] select create new recording), what times it shows ? 1 Quote

BillR Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 So, I discovered that the problem isn’t exactly as I described it before. This is what’s happening. I go into pvr and select Create a Recording, Set my Frequency to Multi days, select Monday - Friday. Select the server name. Select the channel. Go to Program name, if there is a program listed with the channel it will be filled in automatically when you select the channel. If no program is listed, then this field will be blank. Go to start time, enter the correct date and time. Go to end time and put in the correct ending time. Storage is already correct, so I hit Set Recording and then Save Changes. At this point everything looks fine. As soon as I click on “set recording” it saves the recording. Then when I exit that screen and go into “Scheduled Recordings” the recording is in the list, but the times have been rolled back one hour. So instead of seeing 2pm - 3pm, it says 1pm - 2pm. Now, when I go into this listing to edit the time and click on the Start Time, the date reads 1/1/1970 with 1:00 pm. So instead order to get to the current day/year you have to scroll thru 20,075 lines of text to get to today’s date. So, I apologize for not being totally accurate before, and so I hope this makes sense to you. I’m really trying to like Buzztv. Thanks, Quote
Emporium Posted May 11 Posted May 11 OK.. So this is a LOT better. I followed your procedure you provided and managed to reproduce it even on the latest beta (1.0.168). Both the fact that recording was saved with 1hr shift left. And the fact that date was 1970 Now that we have a procedure that can be followed to reproduce the issue, I am sure @allaboutbuzz can provide the procedure you have provided above to the dev team who can reproduce it, and figure out why the odd behaviour and provide a fix. Not sure it can make it into the next public release (since I think it is pretty close), but probably in the next one. But Buzz has surprised us in the past so you never know. NOTE: Being able to systematically reproduce an issue is KEY to be able to provide a fix. Vague descriptions are nearly useless. Thank you 3 Quote
