How to Copy SDD recordings/downloads

Does anyone know a way to easily move downloaded or recorded movies from one internal hard drive to another on the U5 models or any Buzz models ?

Seems the formatted internal drives can not be moved from one box to another. Is it possible to link the U5 as a Server on internet and send the recordings or downloads to another box ? We need an easy way to do this.

I tried a Copy HDD unit where you can install a blank SSD and the removed internal SSD of the Box into this HDD Copy Unit.

Files were moved but the Buzz units did not see the files.

I utilize the network shares feature available in Buzz Utilities to copy and transfer files between my Buzz boxes using my PC. Essentially, on your PC, navigate to the network share devices section, where you should be able to view all Buzz boxes connected to your network, provided that the network share option is enabled on your devices and network.

The network share option does not share extenal drives (at least not the last time I tried).  But you can transfer to internal storage and then move them as needed.

HOWEVER, moving recorded files is not going to be as seamless as you think.  The recorded files may be on the external drive, but the metadata file (which hold the file location, file name, EPG info, etc..) is on the internal storage.   So even if you move files into the recording directory of the ssd, they will NOT be seen buy the buzztv software.   You can see that if you try a few recordings to a USB stick (or SSD) for example, then remove the USB stick or drive, and you will see that all recording are still listed.  And only when you try to play one, does it realize the file is not there.

Best you can do, is move them into another directory, and use something like VLC to play the individual media file.

Would be nice if we can have the recording destination on  network share, or maybe have all required files (including metadata) in a single directory on the SSD and be able to share it so you can have 1 dedicated device doing all the recording, but then can playback from any other buzz box by mounting or connecting to hat bax.   But I am sure that would involve quite a bit of changes from the current implementation.
