But surprised that is not the first thing your provider did when you complained it was not working. That is the first thing I do with anyone on MAC sub and complaining it does not work. 3 Quote

Gilles1945 Posted August 20 Author Posted August 20 Here is something I don't understand I was on MAC server and ask to returned to Xc/API login to try to solved the problem. I have 2 provider and it's always the first to row left that often I have to ask to reset. Went I change to API login I moved the provider with problem to the right. And now that both are on API. The providers to the left still need to be ask for reset. Did someone ever had this problem? Quote
Gary9 Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I have the same problem ,some times I have to try up to four times.and after that load channels list Quote
Emporium Posted August 21 Posted August 21 First of all, this is NOT the same thing. Gilles is talking about resetting the account from his provider. Gary you see to be saying that you need to try 3 or 4 times to connect before connecting. This is not te same type of issue. Are you guys using wifi, or wired ? Are you sure the box is actually connected to the internet when you try to connect (mostly for Gary) ? I've had friends who used to complain that they needed to try to connect 2 or 3 times before connecting, and they were using Wi-Fi. Turned out the crappy router provided to them by their Internet provider was the source of the lagging connections. Adding a ASUS decent router instead of using the provided junk from the internet providers, and problem went away. A wired connection is always preferred, to avoid these kind of issues. ALSO, if you are putting your box into "suspend" mode using the power key, then you should probably change the power key definition to shutdown. Sure it takes an extra minute to boot, but you have a clean boot every single time. Suspend over time can cause issues on any machine. Even windows machine go wonky after a while if you don't do a proper reboot. Just save yourselves the headache and change the powerkey definition to shutdown, and most random problems go away. Also, what do you mean my asking provider to reset if you are on XC type sub. There is no reset for XC logins on the subscription panel. Reset is only for MAC servers. I have no clue what your provider is doing for a |reset" no an XC server. Something does not make sense. I have the same XC server on nearly 10 different boxes with same user/pass and I switch between them with no issues and never needing to reset an account. 4 Quote
Gilles1945 Posted August 22 Author Posted August 22 Hi, thank you so much emporium to take the time to help. Yes I set things up as said. And this weekend I'm changing from Bellaliant to Roger's this mean I will have a new modem/router. So this will change my old modem/router. Hope all this will solved the problem. Have a great day! 1 Quote
Emporium Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I hope it works out well for you. But always keep in mind that the routers that are often provided by ISP are NOT the best quality. They do the job for basic use, but in some cases ,they can be inadequate for certain scenarios. There is a reason why many home routers like some of the ASUS ones, can easily cost $250+ alone. They do provide a completely different level of networking. IF wired is an option, that is always the best option for any media box. If Rogers is running a new cable into the house, sometimes that is the opportunity to relocate the modem/router to a location closer to the TV, which would allow a wired connection Not saying it will always fix the situation, since some of the included routers can get overwhelmed even with simplest tasks, but it is definitely better than any wifi connection. 1 Quote
Gilles1945 Posted August 23 Author Posted August 23 Yes the router is in tye same cabinet of the Buzztv and it will be wired. Thanks again for your help 1 Quote
