U5 not responding to power button on remote…

 I posted this on the BuzzTV FB with no success. 
 I have a problem with my U5/32 that’s just started in the last few days. 
 I have my box set to “suspend on power down”, and it’s been working fine until the last few days, but lately -when I go to restart it (after being off for a while) it doesn’t respond to the power button on the remote and I have to manually unplug the power cord, then plug it back in to restart the device. I’ve put new batteries in the remote, so I know that’s not the issue. Any ideas?

try to turn CEC off on the box and see if that helps.

Nope, but someone on the STBTalk forum suggested that I try turning off the CEC option on the U5’s setup menu -and so far that seems to be working.
