X5 reboot cycling

have an X5 running the March..23? 28? version.  It'll boot up, I can watch tv for about 5 minutes, when it will just reboot. No error message, no warning at all.  Even if i leave it sitting at the dashboard/home screen, after about 5 minutes it just reboots.  My handler/provider (aka the guy I bought the box from) said it sounds like it got a bad update or got rebooted mid-update. I tried erasing all data and reinitializing. No love. I'd try re-flashing the basic image, but no idea where one downloads that or what the process is, and my guy is busy this weekend so I can't just swing down to his place and have him re-image it...

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Maxx

Thanks for the reply!

Hrm. Nothing showing under "guide here"

By hard reset, you're referring to unplugging all cables, waiting a bit, then plugging everything back in?  Done that.   Weird thing is, it was working fine up until wednesday morning (well, other than the odd reboot while browsing the EPG..seems it runs outta memory if you try to scroll while the EPG is still populating, or the odd crash-to-homescreen on random channels)

and he's done reimages on my previous boxes, or a base reset of some sort where we had to set it up from scratch again...

What happens if i do a pin reset? doesn't that wipe the base image off the box entirely? or is the base image stored in a ROM and is automagically reloaded after a pin reset?
